Prevention of Corrosion Rate by Natural Inhibitor Papaya Leaf Extract
Corrosion is an event of damage or deterioration of a metal caused by reaction with the environtment. Corrosion process can be prevented by the addition of corrosion inhibitor. Papaya leaf extract is an organic material that could potentially be used as a corrosion inhibitor because it contains N-acetyl- glukosamida and amino acid. The purpose of this study is to determine the effects of brine concentration and surface area on the rate of corrosion of a metal plate that can be used as reference incorrosion control on metal plate. Determination of corrosion rate use weight loss methods, with medium marinade variation 3.5%, 5% and 6.5% salt water and a sample of the iron plates of different sizes. Each concentration of the medium contained four samples with different sizes of iron plates immersed for 30 days. The results showed the highest corrosion rate found on a metal plate without inhibitor with a value of 0.1331 mm/ year . The greater concentration of the medium the corrosion rate will be higher. The smaller surface area of iron plate the corrosion rate will be higher
BGS Sigma 2012 open source user guide
The British Geological Survey began developing digital field mapping systems in 1989. However, it was apparent that the commercially available hardware was not suitable at that time. In 2001, we revisited the topic under the System for Integrated Geoscience Mapping (SIGMA) programme. By 2003, BGS had developed a PDA (personal digital assistant) field system, which was superseded in 2005, when we began deploying a beta system on rugged Tablet PCs. The Tablet PC system, which we called BGS•SIGMAmobile was used by BGS in mapping projects across the UK as well as overseas. It first became available in Open Source form, in June 2009 via the BGS website, www.bgs.ac.uk, under an agreement which stipulates that updates and modifications must be supplied to BGS in order to stimulate further developments. In 2011/2012, BGS•SIGMAmobile was rewritten in .NET and combined with our office based mapping software BGS•SIGMAdesktop within ArcGIS 10.x to create BGS•SIGMA 2012.
It is envisaged that future releases will be made available from the BGS website incorporating new modules, modifications and upgrades supplied by BGS and external users of the system.
This document has been written to guide users through the installation and use of BGS•SIGMA 2012 (mobile and desktop), which is the third free release.

A Finite Exact Representation of Register Automata Configurations
A register automaton is a finite automaton with finitely many registers
ranging from an infinite alphabet. Since the valuations of registers are
infinite, there are infinitely many configurations. We describe a technique to
classify infinite register automata configurations into finitely many exact
representative configurations. Using the finitary representation, we give an
algorithm solving the reachability problem for register automata. We moreover
define a computation tree logic for register automata and solve its model
checking problem.Comment: In Proceedings INFINITY 2013, arXiv:1402.661
Mining Top-k Closed Co-location Patterns
A spatial co-located event sets is a set of spatial events being frequently observed together in nearby geographic space. Spatial co-location patterns can give useful information in many application domains such as business, ecology, public health and criminology
Developing a Living Archive of Aboriginal Languages
National Foreign Language Resource CenterThe fluctuating fortunes of Northern Territory bilingual education programs in Australian
languages and English have put at risk thousands of books developed for these
programs in remote schools. In an effort to preserve such a rich cultural and linguistic
heritage, the Living Archive of Aboriginal Languages project is establishing an open
access, online repository comprising digital versions of these materials. Using web
technologies to store and access the resources makes them accessible to the communities
of origin, the wider academic community, and the general public. The process
of creating, populating, and implementing such an archive has posed many interesting
technical, cultural and linguistic challenges, some of which are explored in this pape
