Strategies for Probing CP Properties in the Top Quark System at ee+e^-e^+ and Hadron Colliders

I discuss strategies for probing CP properties in the top quark system at ee+e^-e^+ and hadron Colliders. The magnitudes of CP violation effects predicted by various models are reviewed. I also discuss the potential of various current and future colliders in measuring the CP asymmetry associated with the productions and/or decays of the top quarks.Comment: 20 pages, in LaTe

On the local standard of rest

Under the influence of a spiral gravitational field, there should be differences among the mean motions of different types of objects with different dispersion velocities in a sipral galaxy. The old stars with high dispersion velocity should have essentially no mean motion normal to the galactic rotation. On the other hand, young objects and interstellar gas may be moving relative to the old stars at a velocity of a few kilometer per second in both the radial (galacto-centric), and circular directions, depending on the spiral model adopted. Such a velocity is usually referred as the systematic motion or the streaming motion. The conventionally adopted local standard of rest is indeed co-moving with the young objects of the solar vicinity. Therefore, it has a net systematic motion with respect to the circular motion of an equilibrium galactic model, defined by the old stars

We discuss the physics of the top quark at the Fermilab Tevatron. By the year 2000, many properties of the top quark can be measured at the Tevatron.Comment: Talk given at the Workshop on Particles and Fields, 30 October - 3 November 1995, Puebla, Mexico. Proposals for Studying TeV WLWLWLWLW_L W_L \rightarrow W_L W_L Interactions Experimentally

We discuss how to experimentally study the symmetry breaking sector by observing WLWLWLWLW_L W_L \rightarrow W_L W_L interactions in the TeV region. We discuss some general features of the event structure in the signal and background events. Various tricks to enhance the signal--to--background ratio are also presented. We show how to detect longitudinal WW--bosons either in the central rapidity region of the detector or in the beam pipe direction.Comment: PHYZZX, 14 pages, MSUTH 92/0

Transverse Momentum Resummation for Dijet Correlation in Hadronic Collisions

We study the transverse momentum resummation for dijet correlation in hadron collisions based on the Collins-Soper-Sterman formalism. The complete one-loop calculations are carried out in the collinear factorization framework for the differential cross sections at low imbalance transverse momentum between the two jets. Important cross checks are performed to demonstrate that the soft divergences cancelled out between different diagrams, and in particular, those associated with final state jets. The leading and sub-leading logarithms are identified. All order resummation is derived following the transverse momentum dependent factorization at this order. Its phenomenological applications are also presented.Comment: 51 pages, 10 figure
