    Charmed Baryon Weak Decays with SU(3) Flavor Symmetry

    We study the semileptonic and non-leptonic charmed baryon decays with SU(3)SU(3) flavor symmetry, where the charmed baryons can be Bc=(Ξc0,Ξc+,Λc+){\bf B}_{c}=(\Xi_c^0,\Xi_c^+,\Lambda_c^+), Bc=(Σc(++,+,0),Ξc(+,0),Ωc0){\bf B}'_{c}=(\Sigma_c^{(++,+,0)},\Xi_{c}^{\prime(+,0)},\Omega_c^0), Bcc=(Ξcc++,Ξcc+,Ωcc+){\bf B}_{cc}=(\Xi_{cc}^{++},\Xi_{cc}^+,\Omega_{cc}^+), or Bccc=Ωccc++{\bf B}_{ccc}=\Omega^{++}_{ccc}. With Bn(){\bf B}_n^{(\prime)} denoted as the baryon octet (decuplet), we find that the BcBn+ν{\bf B}_{c}\to {\bf B}'_n\ell^+\nu_\ell decays are forbidden, while the Ωc0Ω+ν\Omega_c^0\to \Omega^-\ell^+\nu_\ell, Ωcc+Ωc0+ν\Omega_{cc}^+\to\Omega_c^0\ell^+\nu_\ell, and Ωccc++Ωcc++ν\Omega_{ccc}^{++}\to \Omega_{cc}^+\ell^+\nu_\ell decays are the only existing Cabibbo-allowed modes for BcBn+ν{\bf B}'_{c}\to {\bf B}'_n\ell^+\nu_\ell, BccBc+ν{\bf B}_{cc}\to {\bf B}'_c\ell^+\nu_\ell, and BcccBcc()+ν{\bf B}_{ccc}\to {\bf B}_{cc}^{(\prime)}\ell^+\nu_\ell, respectively. We predict the rarely studied BcBn()M{\bf B}_{c}\to {\bf B}_n^{(\prime)}M decays, such as B(Ξc0Λ0Kˉ0,Ξc+Ξ0π+)=(8.3±0.9,8.0±4.1)×103{\cal B}(\Xi_c^0\to\Lambda^0\bar K^0,\,\Xi_c^+\to\Xi^0\pi^+)=(8.3\pm 0.9,8.0\pm 4.1)\times 10^{-3} and B(Λc+Δ++π,Ξc0ΩK+)=(5.5±1.3,4.8±0.5)×103{\cal B}(\Lambda_c^+\to \Delta^{++}\pi^-,\,\Xi_c^0\to\Omega^- K^+)=(5.5\pm 1.3,4.8\pm 0.5)\times 10^{-3}. For the observation, the doubly and triply charmed baryon decays of Ωcc+Ξc+Kˉ0\Omega_{cc}^{+}\to \Xi_c^+\bar K^0, Ξcc++(Ξc+π+\Xi_{cc}^{++}\to (\Xi_c^+\pi^+, Σc++Kˉ0)\Sigma_c^{++}\bar K^0), and Ωccc++(Ξcc++Kˉ0,Ωcc+π+,Ξc+D+)\Omega_{ccc}^{++}\to (\Xi_{cc}^{++}\bar K^0,\Omega_{cc}^+\pi^+,\Xi_c^+ D^+) are the favored Cabibbo-allowed decays, which are accessible to the BESIII and LHCb experiments.Comment: 29 pages, no figure, a typo in the table correcte

    Effects of feeding organic and inorganic acid blends on growth performance and nutrient digestibility in young broiler chickens

    One hundred and ninety-six Ross chicks with an initial body weight of 40.30±0.22g were used to study the effects of different crude protein levels supplemented with dietry organic and inorganic acids on growth performance and nutrient digestibility. The chicks were caged in pens of seven animals each, and had ad libitum access to feed and water. The chicks were divided into 4 groups: Control -22% crude protein basal diet; T1:22% crude protein basal diet + Organics™; T2:20% crude protein basal diet + Organics™; T3:18% crude protein basal diet + Orgacids™. The apparent digestibility of crude protein, calcium and phosphorus was calculated using Ti02. The birds fed with Control, T1 and T2 had better growth performance and feed conversion ratio than T3. The diets added with acidifiers had better digestibility of crude protein, phosphorus and calcium. In conclusion, the chickens fed with Control, T1 and T2 had better weight gain than 18% CP with acid blends. However, similar growth performance was found between Control, T1 and T2. T1 and T2 had lower FCR than Control and T3. Better growth performance in Control, T1 and T2 is mainly attributed to the better digestibility of nutrients such as crude protein, phosphorus and calcium. There was a reduction of 17% SBM used in the diet when Control diet was compared with T2 diet

    Nonlinear Response of a Kondo system: Direct and Alternating Tunneling Currents

    Non - equilibrium tunneling current of an Anderson impurity system subject to both constant and alternating electric fields is studied. A time - dependent Schrieffer - Wolff transformation maps the time - dependent Anderson Hamiltonian onto a Kondo one. Perturbation expansion in powers of the Kondo coupling strength is carried out up to third order, yielding a remarkably simple analytical expression for the tunneling current. It is found that the zero - bias anomaly is suppressed by an ac - field. Both dc and the first harmonic are equally enhanced by the Kondo effect, while the higher harmonics are relatively small.     We review the studies on the emergent phases of superconductvity and magnetism in the ff-electron derived heavy-fermion (HF) systems by means of the nuclear-quadrupole-resonance (NQR) under pressure. These studies have unraveled a rich variety of the phenomena in the ground state of HF systems. In this article, we highlight the novel phase diagrams of magnetism and unconventional superconductivity (SC) in CeCu2_2Si2_2, HF antiferromagnets CeRhIn5_5, and CeIn3_3.     The Anderson Model out of equilibrium: Time dependent perturbations

    The influence of high-frequency fields on quantum transport through a quantum dot is studied in the low-temperature regime. We generalize the non crossing approximation for the infinite-U Anderson model to the time-dependent case. The dc spectral density shows asymmetric Kondo side peaks due to photon-assisted resonant tunneling. As a consequence we predict an electron-photon pump at zero bias which is purely based on the Kondo effect. In contrast to the resonant level model and the time-independent case we observe asymmetric peak amplitudes in the Coulomb oscillations and the differential conductance versus bias voltage shows resonant side peaks with a width much smaller than the tunneling rate. All the effects might be used to clarify the question whether quantum dots indeed show the Kondo effect.Comment: 13 pages, REVTEX 3.0, 5 figure

    Resonant Photon-Assisted Tunneling Through a Double Quantum Dot: An Electron Pump From Spatial Rabi Oscillations

    The time average of the fully nonlinear current through a double quantum dot, subject to an arbitrary combination of ac and dc voltages, is calculated exactly using the Keldysh nonequilibrium Green function technique. When driven on resonance, the system functions as an efficient electron pump due to Rabi oscillation between the dots.     Data-driven image color theme enhancement

    Proceedings of the 3rd ACM SIGGRAPH Asia 2010, Seoul, South Korea, 15-18 December 2010It is often important for designers and photographers to convey or enhance desired color themes in their work. A color theme is typically defined as a template of colors and an associated verbal description. This paper presents a data-driven method for enhancing a desired color theme in an image. We formulate our goal as a unified optimization that simultaneously considers a desired color theme, texture-color relationships as well as automatic or user-specified color constraints. Quantifying the difference between an image and a color theme is made possible by color mood spaces and a generalization of an additivity relationship for two-color combinations. We incorporate prior knowledge, such as texture-color relationships, extracted from a database of photographs to maintain a natural look of the edited images.     The Snail repressor recruits EZH2 to specific genomic sites through the enrollment of the lncRNA HOTAIR in epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition

    The transcription factor Snail is a master regulator of cellular identity and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) directly repressing a broad repertoire of epithelial genes. How chromatin modifiers instrumental to its activity are recruited to Snail-specific binding sites is unclear. Here we report that the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) HOTAIR (for HOX Transcript Antisense Intergenic RNA) mediates a physical interaction between Snail and enhancer of zeste homolog 2 (EZH2), an enzymatic subunit of the polycomb-repressive complex 2 and the main writer of chromatin-repressive marks. The Snail-repressive activity, here monitored on genes with a pivotal function in epithelial and hepatic morphogenesis, differentiation and cell-type identity, depends on the formation of a tripartite Snail/HOTAIR/EZH2 complex. These results demonstrate an lncRNA-mediated mechanism by which a transcriptional factor conveys a general chromatin modifier to specific genes, thereby allowing the execution of hepatocyte transdifferentiation; moreover, they highlight HOTAIR as a crucial player in the Snail-mediated EMT.Oncogene advance online publication, 25 July 2016; doi:10.1038/onc.2016.260
