Content analysis to detect high stress in oral interviews and text documents
A system of interrogation to estimate whether a subject of interrogation is likely experiencing high stress, emotional volatility and/or internal conflict in the subject's responses to an interviewer's questions. The system applies one or more of four procedures, a first statistical analysis, a second statistical analysis, a third analysis and a heat map analysis, to identify one or more documents containing the subject's responses for which further examination is recommended. Words in the documents are characterized in terms of dimensions representing different classes of emotions and states of mind, in which the subject's responses that manifest high stress, emotional volatility and/or internal conflict are identified. Mycobiome of the Bat White Nose Syndrome (WNS) Affected Caves and Mines reveals High Diversity of Fungi and Local Adaptation by the Fungal Pathogen Pseudogymnoascus (Geomyces) destructans
The investigations of the bat White Nose Syndrome (WNS) have yet to provide
answers as to how the causative fungus Pseudogymnoascus (Geomyces) destructans
(Pd) first appeared in the Northeast and how a single clone has spread rapidly
in the US and Canada. We aimed to catalogue Pd and all other fungi (mycobiome)
by the culture-dependent (CD) and culture-independent (CI) methods in four
Mines and two Caves from the epicenter of WNS zoonotic. Six hundred sixty-five
fungal isolates were obtained by CD method including the live recovery of Pd.
Seven hundred three nucleotide sequences that met the definition of operational
taxonomic units (OTUs) were recovered by CI methods. Most OTUs belonged to
unidentified clones deposited in the databases as environmental nucleic acid
sequences (ENAS). The core mycobiome of WNS affected sites comprised of 46
species of fungi from 31 genera recovered in culture, and 17 fungal genera and
31 ENAS identified from clone libraries. Fungi such as Arthroderma spp.,
Geomyces spp., Kernia spp., Mortierella spp., Penicillium spp., and
Verticillium spp. were predominant in culture while Ganoderma spp., Geomyces
spp., Mortierella spp., Penicillium spp. and Trichosporon spp. were abundant is
clone libraries. Alpha diversity analyses from CI data revealed that fungal
community structure was highly diverse. However, the true species diversity
remains undetermined due to under sampling. The frequent recovery of Pd
indicated that the pathogen has adapted to WNS-afflicted habitats. Further,
this study supports the hypothesis that Pd is an introduced species. These
findings underscore the need for integrated WNS control measures that target
both bats and the fungal pathogen.Comment: 59 pages, 7figure
SWKB Quantization Rules for Bound States in Quantum Wells
In a recent paper by Gomes and Adhikari (J.Phys B30 5987(1997)) a matrix
formulation of the Bohr-Sommerfield quantization rule has been applied to the
study of bound states in one dimension quantum wells. Here we study these
potentials in the frame work of supersymmetric WKB (SWKB) quantization
approximation and find that SWKB quantization rule is superior to the modified
Bohr-Sommerfield or WKB rules as it exactly reproduces the eigenenergies.Comment: 8 page
P104 White coat hypertension is associated with increased small vessel disease in the brain
Objective: Small vessel disease, measured by brain white matter hyperintensity (WMH), is associated with increased stroke risk and cognitive impairment. This study aimed to explore the relationship between WMH on computerised tomography (CT) and white coat hypertension (WCH) in patients with recent transient ischaemic attack (TIA) or lacunar stroke (LS).
Methods: Ninety-six patients recruited for the ASIST trial (Arterial Stiffness in Lacunar Stroke and TIA) underwent measurement of clinic blood pressure (BP) and ambulatory BP monitoring (APBM) within two weeks of TIA or LS. Patients were grouped by BP phenotypes. Twenty-three patients had normotension (clinic BP 140/90 mmHg and day-time ABPM <135/85 mmHg). CT brain images were scored for WMH using the four-point Fazekas visual rating scale. Patients were grouped into no-mild WMH (scores 0–1) or moderate-severe (scores 2–3) groups. The relationship between BP and WMH was explored with chi-square and logistic regression accounting for known cardiovascular risk factors (age, gender, smoking, diabetes and hyperlipidaemia).
Results: 44% of WCH patients had moderate-severe WMH compared to 17% of normotensives (p = 0.047). Logistical regression incorporating WCH as the independent factor and cardiovascular risk factors as independent variables showed WCH to be the only independent significant factor contributing to WMH (p = 0.024).
Conclusion: Patients with WCH were more likely to have moderate-severe WMH on CT brain than normotensives. WCH was associated with increased WMH, independent of other cardiovascular risk factors. This study suggests that WCH is associated with increased small vessel disease in the brain and may benefit from treatment
Functional Effects of the TMEM43 Ser358Leu Mutation in the Pathogenesis of Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy
Background: The Ser358Leu mutation in TMEM43, encoding an inner nuclear membrane protein, has been implicated in arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC). The pathogenetic mechanisms of this mutation are poorly understood. Methods: To determine the frequency of TMEM43 mutations as a cause of ARVC, we screened 11 ARVC families for mutations in TMEM43 and five desmosomal genes previously implicated in the disease. Functional studies were performed in COS-7 cells transfected with wildtype, mutant, and 1:2 wildtype:mutant TMEM43 to determine the effect of the Ser358Leu mutation on the stability and cellular localization of TMEM43 and other nuclear envelope and desmosomal proteins, assessed by solubility assays and immunofluorescence imaging. mRNA expression was assessed of genes potentially affected by dysfunction of the nuclear lamina. Results: Three novel mutations in previously documented desmosomal genes, but no mutations in TMEM43, were identified. COS-7 cells transfected with mutant TMEM43 exhibited no change in desmosomal stability. Stability and nuclear membrane localization of mutant TMEM43 and of lamin B and emerin were normal. Mutant TMEM43 did not alter the expression of genes located on chromosome 13, previously implicated in nuclear envelope protein mutations leading to skeletal muscular dystrophies. Conclusions: Mutant TMEM43 exhibits normal cellular localization and does not disrupt integrity and localization of other nuclear envelope and desmosomal proteins. The pathogenetic role of TMEM43 mutations in ARVC remains uncertain
Applicative Bidirectional Programming with Lenses
A bidirectional transformation is a pair of mappings between source and view data objects, one in each direction. When the view is modified, the source is updated accordingly with respect to some laws. One way to reduce the development and maintenance effort of bidirectional transformations is to have specialized languages in which the resulting programs are bidirectional by construction---giving rise to the paradigm of bidirectional programming.
In this paper, we develop a framework for applicative-style and higher-order bidirectional programming, in which we can write bidirectional transformations as unidirectional programs in standard functional languages, opening up access to the bundle of language features previously only available to conventional unidirectional languages. Our framework essentially bridges two very different approaches of bidirectional programming, namely the lens framework and Voigtlander’s semantic bidirectionalization, creating a new programming style that is able to bag benefits from both

principal species being cultured. Of late hatchery sector

response of broodstock to eyestalk ablation. High cost of
gravid females compelling the grow-out sector to stock
pathogen carrier seeds. Hence domestication of tiger
shrimp is essential to produce Specific Pathogen Free
(SPF) broodstock / Disease Resistant (DR) broodstock.
Merits and demerits of SPF versus DR broodstock are
presented. Development of SPF broodstock involves
stringent management of environment to arrest the entry
of pathogens and more than one economic trait can be
selected. Whereas in development of DR broodstockanimals are challenged with the pathogen and a selection
of other economic traits are less possible. Resistance in
shrimp exists at the species level as well as individual
level. Experiment on domestication of P. monodon in
which programme was advanced up to F3 generation has
revealed the existence of resistance for WSSV at the
