An Analysis of Tax Incentives in the FDI Decision Process from Organisational Structural Perspectives: Evidence from UK Multinationals
This paper investigates the role of tax incentives in the FDI decision making process in a sample of UK multinational companies. The paper considers the relative importance of stages and determinants in the FDI decision making process. The determining factors in FDI decision process are examined from the organisational structure perspectives –FDI ownership form and market entry mode. The paper specifically identifies the role of tax in the strategic decisions of FDI organisational structure, as well as the stages of FDI decision making process. Relatively few prior empirical studies have examined the interface between tax strategy and corporate strategy in the context of FDI organisational structure and decision making process. This paper therefore attempts to examine the tax incentives for FDI decision process from the perspectives of the organisational structure

CYBERSPACE AND THE NEW WORLD ORDER
The present article is trying to bring into attention the new concept of cyberization of IR, by argumenting the importance of cyberspace and the instruments that it provides for the scholars and practitioners for a new international relations typology. The constructivist approach is used for the notion of state responsibility, for underlying the behavior of a state in cyberspace. The necessity of an international cyberspace policy is evidenced, as well as the proposed international norms for assuring the cybersecurity. The open international cyberspace will challenge national sovereignty and the state leaders will have to find ways of responding to this continuous and sophisticated threats that appeared recently

Reconfiguration of Geopolitical Strategies in Trump's Era: The Impact of American Political Leadership’s Idiosyncrasies on the Traditional Transatlantic Relations
The International System is traversing a challenging stage in its evolution. The United States should carefully consider the risks of an idiosyncratic leadership and closely work with their European partners, securing a world order based on the norms of multilateralism and democracy. Still, the US President Donald Trump unveils an approach based on emotional and synchronous elements. As a matter of consequence, the EU is considering other geopolitical alternatives to accomplish its goals and deliver the best outcome to the people it serves and for global prosperity. The paper investigates the very specific psychological factors influencing Trumpian political thinking and justifying his corresponding foreign policy decision making processes, in the current transatlantic environment. By contextual examples, the analysis reveals the sensitivities and flaws in applying a subjective, belief-based approach of international (bilateral) relations. We put things into a broader perspective, by analysing the implications of such political behaviour patterns for the international liberal order, in the circumstances of the more and more prominent geopolitical triangle: the EU-China-the US
Idiosyncrasies in the Negotiation of the EU Accession – Case of Romania
This research aims at explaining some of the decisions (or ways of action) in
the public sphere through the analysis of subjective elements (idiosyncrasies) that occur at individual level. The use of psychological methods for the analysis of foreign policy decisionmaking opened a new path of investigation in the field of international relations. The case study which is brought to attention refers to the period 2000 – 2004, during Romania’s preparation for accession to the European Union, from the perspective of the psychological factors that
have intervened in the negotiations and decision-making process at the individual level. The discourses of former Chief Negotiator Vasile Pușcaș were analysed in this research process
From Normative to Idiosyncratic – Negotiation and Leadership in the European Union
In the contemporary world, the restructuring of the international system and its effects on European relations is still debated. Today, it is becoming increasingly clear that the international system needs changes; the world order is shaped by major global actors, which are no longer guided by the balance of powers principle, borders’ and governance’s rules. Instead, the psychological factors begin to weigh heavily and become one of the important elements of the basis of the international and European negotiation process. Therefore, the role of leaders could be one of reference in international norms and/ or European arena. The present paper, through its complex content, extensively examines the role of idiosyncrasies in international relations and determines the behaviour of the actors involved in the decision-making process. According to our analysis, we can identify general behavioural patterns and individual decisions that can generate views on the leadership styles and personalities of leaders. It is a contribution to a lesser-known aspect of the field of international relations and European affairs – the role of idiosyncrasies in decision-making process and on European foreign policy, through an essential psychological incursion
EU’s Interdependencies in the COVID-19 Crisis
The main purpose of this study is to highlight, from a perspective of
globalisation and power relations, the interdependencies manifested at the level of the
European Union (EU) during the first year of pandemic crisis. The EU needs to redefine
priorities, acknowledge more the importance of the interdependencies, and establish a
more inclusive development strategy for the following years. We will also focus our
attention on the responses and guidelines drawn by Member States and institutional
actors, in order to analyse the efficiency of those decisions. The pandemic crisis must be
seen as an opportunity for relaunching the Union, which will have to take into account all
necessary measures to streamline the process of European integration that constitutes the
challenge of the new Europ
Assessing Differences in Articulatory-Acoustic Vowel Space in Parkinson’s Disease by Sex and Phenotype
The goal of this study was to determine whether articulatoryacoustics differ between individuals in the tremor-dominant (TD) and postural instability/gait difficulty (PIGD) phenotypes of Parkinson's disease (PD). The study included 31 individuals with PD (21 TD, 10 PIGD) and 29 control speakers (CS) who were all Dutch native speakers. A read speech task and a semi-spontaneous speech task were completed, and the Articulatory-Acoustic Vowel Space (AAVS) was calculated for both tasks. Results showed no significant difference in AAVS between the overall control group and PD for either phenotype. Follow-up analyses, pooling speech data from our prior study (+27 PD, +23 CS), demonstrated a significantly lower AAVS in males with PD compared to controls and no group differences for females. Thus, articulatory-acoustic changes may be more pronounced for male compared to female speakers with PD, but may not differ by PD phenotype.<br/
