A Multiple Radar Approach for Automatic Target Recognition of Aircraft using Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar
Along with the improvement of radar technologies, Automatic Target
Recognition (ATR) using Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and Inverse SAR (ISAR)
has come to be an active research area. SAR/ISAR are radar techniques to
generate a two-dimensional high-resolution image of a target. Unlike other
similar experiments using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) to solve this
problem, we utilize an unusual approach that leads to better performance and
faster training times. Our CNN uses complex values generated by a simulation to
train the network; additionally, we utilize a multi-radar approach to increase
the accuracy of the training and testing processes, thus resulting in higher
accuracies than the other papers working on SAR/ISAR ATR. We generated our
dataset with 7 different aircraft models with a radar simulator we developed
called RadarPixel; it is a Windows GUI program implemented using Matlab and
Java programming, the simulator is capable of accurately replicating a real
SAR/ISAR configurations. Our objective is to utilize our multi-radar technique
and determine the optimal number of radars needed to detect and classify
targets.Comment: 8 pages, 9 figures, International Conference for Data Intelligence

Draft Genome Sequence of the Grapevine Dieback Fungus Eutypa lata UCR-EL1.
The vascular pathogen Eutypa lata, which causes Eutypa dieback in grapevines, is a major threat to grape production worldwide. Here, we present the first draft genome sequence of E. lata (UCR-EL1). The computational prediction and annotation of the protein-coding genes of UCR-EL1 provide an initial inventory of its potential virulence factors
Draft Genome Sequence of Botrytis cinerea BcDW1, Inoculum for Noble Rot of Grape Berries.
Botrytized wines are produced from grape berries infected by Botrytis cinerea under specific environmental conditions. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of B. cinerea BcDW1, a strain isolated from Sémillon grapes in Napa Valley in 1992 that is used with the intent to induce noble rot for botrytized wine production
Draft Genome Sequence of the Ascomycete Phaeoacremonium aleophilum Strain UCR-PA7, a Causal Agent of the Esca Disease Complex in Grapevines.
Grapevine infections by Phaeoacremonium aleophilum in association with other pathogenic fungi cause complex and economically important vascular diseases. Here we present the first draft of the P. aleophilum genome sequence, which comprises 624 scaffolds with a total length of 47.5 Mb (L50, 45; N50, 336 kb) and 8,926 predicted protein-coding genes
A Synthesis of Web Services
The implications of autonomous commu- nication have been far-reaching and pervasive. In this position paper, we confirm the improvement of voice-over-IP. In this work we use distributed archetypes to demonstrate that link-level acknowledgements and Lamport clocks are usually incompatible
Smad4 regulates growth plate matrix production and chondrocyte polarity.
Smad4 is an intracellular effector of the TGFβ family that has been implicated in Myhre syndrome, a skeletal dysplasia characterized by short stature, brachydactyly and stiff joints. The TGFβ pathway also plays a critical role in the development, organization and proliferation of the growth plate, although the exact mechanisms remain unclear. Skeletal phenotypes in Myhre syndrome overlap with processes regulated by the TGFβ pathway, including organization and proliferation of the growth plate and polarity of the chondrocyte. We used in vitro and in vivo models of Smad4 deficiency in chondrocytes to test the hypothesis that deregulated TGFβ signaling leads to aberrant extracellular matrix production and loss of chondrocyte polarity. Specifically, we evaluated growth plate chondrocyte polarity in tibiae of Col2-Cre+/-;Smad4fl/fl mice and in chondrocyte pellet cultures. In vitro and in vivo, Smad4 deficiency decreased aggrecan expression and increased MMP13 expression. Smad4 deficiency disrupted the balance of cartilage matrix synthesis and degradation, even though the sequential expression of growth plate chondrocyte markers was intact. Chondrocytes in Smad4-deficient growth plates also showed evidence of polarity defects, with impaired proliferation and ability to undergo the characteristic changes in shape, size and orientation as they differentiated from resting to hypertrophic chondrocytes. Therefore, we show that Smad4 controls chondrocyte proliferation, orientation, and hypertrophy and is important in regulating the extracellular matrix composition of the growth plate
Italian Epistemology at the End of the XIXth century
At the beginning of the xxth century the high rate of analphabetism and the recent unification of the country, achieved only in 1870, had required a vast program of school and university reforms which were accompanied by a debate on two fundamental questions: whether the university should depend on public funds or become autonomous, and whether the curriculum should be specialized or remain general as in the modern era. The 1859 Casati reform had separated the faculty for literature and philosophy from the faculty for mathematical, physical and natural sciences, thus introducing for the first time specialized curricula
Distance weighted city growth
Urban agglomerations exhibit complex emergent features of which Zipf's law,
i.e.\ a power-law size distribution, and fractality may be regarded as the most
prominent ones. We propose a simplistic model for the generation of city-like
structures which is solely based on the assumption that growth is more likely
to take place close to inhabited space. The model involves one parameter which
is an exponent determining how strongly the attraction decays with the
distance. In addition, the model is run iteratively so that existing clusters
can grow (together) and new ones can emerge. The model is capable of
reproducing the size distribution and the fractality of the boundary of the
largest cluster. While the power-law distribution depends on both, the imposed
exponent and the iteration, the fractality seems to be independent of the
former and only depends on the latter. Analyzing land-cover data we estimate
the parameter-value for Paris and it's surroundings.Comment: 6 pages, 6 figure
