Numerical viscosity in hydrodynamics simulations in general relativity

We present an alternative method to estimate the numerical viscosity in simulations of astrophysical objects, which is based in the damping of fluid oscillations. We apply the method to general relativistic hydrodynamic simulations using a spherical coordinates. We perform 1D-spherical and 2D- axisymmetric simulations of radial oscillations in spherical systems. We calibrate first the method with simulations with added bulk viscosity and study the differences between different numerical schemes. We apply the method to radial oscillations of neutron stars and we conclude that the main source of numerical viscosity in this case is the surface of the star. We expect that this method could be useful to compute the resolution requirements and limitations of the numerical simulations in different astrophysical scenarios in the future.Comment: Accepted for publication in Class. OPTIMAL SUBSTITUTION OF RENEWABLE AND NONRENEWABLE NATURAL RESOURCES IN PRODUCTION

A theoretical model is presented in order to study the optimal combination of natural resources, used as inputs, taking into account their natural growth ability and the technical possibilities of input substitution. The model enables us to consider renewable resources, nonrenewable, or both. The relative use of resources evolves through time according to the difference between both resources' natural growth and technological flexibility, as measured by the elasticity of substitution of the production function. Output evolves according to a version of the traditional Keynes-Ramsey rule, where the marginal productivity of capital is substituted by the ''marginal productivity of natural capital'', that is a combination of both resources' marginal growth weighted by each resource return in production.Renewable Resources, Nonrenewable Resources, Production, Optimal Control.

Instalación eléctrica y contra incendios de una nave industrial de mecanizado de metales

El presente proyecto de final de grado, tiene como finalidad el diseño, cálculo y dimensionamiento de las instalaciones eléctrica y contra incendios para una nave industrial dedicada al mecanizado de todo tipo de metales. La nave está situada en el municipio de Sant Adrià de Besós y consta de dos plantas, planta baja y planta primera. El proyecto incluye toda la documentación necesaria para su realización teniendo en cuenta las características del edificio, las necesidades mínimas para el tipo de actividad desarrollada y cumpliendo en todo momento las normativas vigentes en cada apartado. El proyecto consta de una memoria donde se describen las diferentes instalaciones aportando la documentación necesaria y las soluciones adoptadas justificadas mediante los cálculos pertinentes. Complementándolo con diversos planos de situación de elementos a instalar, así como esquemas unifilares de dichas instalaciones. También se ha realizado una valoración económica, tanto de materiales como de mano de obra teniendo en cuenta el beneficio industrial

Local Autonomy, budget balance and financial sustainability. Contemporary trends and perspectives on the local financial supervision and budget control in Spain (2008-2014)

El presente artículo tiene como principal propósito analizar las relaciones multinivel de coordinación interadministrativa entre el Estado y las EELL en materia de control presupuestario y tutela financiera. Se pretende evaluar el impacto de las recientes reformas sobre equilibrio presupuestario y sostenibilidad financiera sobre el margen y el alcance de la Autonomía Local, a la luz de la normativa comunitaria europea y la reforma del artículo 135 de la Constitución Española. Los resultados se agrupan en el estudio del régimen de autorización de las operaciones de crédito, el control y el cumplimiento forzoso de las medidas de sostenibilidad financiera y estabilidad presupuestaria de las EELL, la necesidad de informar a los organismos del Estado (Ministerio de Hacienda), y las responsabilidades de los funcionarios de Administración Local con habilitación estatal en el control de la gestión presupuestaria y la consecución de la sostenibilidad financiera de las EELL. Finalmente, se destaca también el componente tecnocrático o economicista que ha presidido la legitimación de las reformas adoptadas en el régimen local, sugiriendo la necesidad de vigorizar el componente democrático y participativo de las EELL en la gestión presupuestaria, como parte del fortalecimiento de la Autonomía Local y frente a los crecientes controles financieros.The purpose of the article is to analyze the multilevel relationships of inter-administrative coordination between state and local entities (LES) in terms of budget control and financial supervision. It aims to assess the impact of the most recent reforms on budgetary balance and financial sustainability on the scope and reach of Local Autonomy in the light of European union law and the reform of article 135 of the Spanish Constitution. The results are grouped in the study of arrangements for approving credit operations, the control and enforcement of the measures of financial sustainability and fiscal stability of the LES, the duty to inform state agencies (Ministry of Finance), and the responsibilities of Local Government officials with state enabling control of budget management and the achievement of financial sustainability of the LES. Finally, the research exposes the technocratic or economistic component that has presided over the legitimacy of the reforms adopted in the local regime stands, suggesting the need to reinvigorate the democratic and participatory component of the LES in budget management, as part of strengthening the Local Autonomy and facing the growing financial controls
