Capacity sharing in RAN slicing
Capacity sharing in RAN slicingThe 5G network slicing feature allows the creation of a multiple of logical networks, known as "network slices", on top of a shared physical infrastructure. Each network slice is customized to specific service requirements and operates in an separate manner from other slices. This technology also is difficult to apply in Radio Access Networks (RANs), since it demands efficient radio resource management while meeting specific needs for each created RAN slices. The first part of this thesis provides an overview of the DRL technology and its application to RAN Management challenges. This will help to develop advanced solutions for capacity sharing in 5G networks. Then, a DRL-based solution is evaluated for multi-tenant scenarios within 5G RAN. The solution involves a Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning (MARL) approach with Deep Q-Network (DQN) agents. DQN's MARL-based solution is designed to address capacity-sharing challenges within multi-cell networks, allowing users to adjust to changing traffic conditions while maintaining Service Level Agreements (SLA) for each network segment. To this end, the solution is evaluated in four different scenarios and its strengths, weaknesses and opportunities for improvement are examined. Collab platform is used as a tool to test the potential of this tool as an education tool
Comparison between linear and nonlinear tolerance analysis of flexible assembly taking into account spot welding effects
The tolerance analysis for flexible parts and assemblies is the precious step in manufacturing parts in industry. In order to minimize the cost of the process, the literature has focused on reviewing tolerance analysis for flexible parts and assemblies. In this paper, are developed two major methods of tolerance analysis for flexible assemblies. Furthermore, to improve the performance of the proposed model that has been simulated to predict the deformation of flexible parts and assemblies, we have taken into account the spot-welding effects. Finally, through a comparative study, the results prove the performances of the proposed approach
Influence of form deviations on the tolerance analysis
The objective of this paper is to present the influence of form deviations on the tolerance analysis of an assembly. For this we will study initially the tolerance analysis using the deviations and clearances domains method, a second time we will integrate the influence of form tolerances on the allowable deviation domain. To illustrate this analysis we used a classical assembly with position and form tolerances (coaxiality and cylindricity). Finally a comparative study between the two cases was illustrated. Periosteal osteoid osteoma of the distal femur
Periosteal osteoid osteoma is extremely rare. The diagnosis is not always clear. We report a case of periosteal osteoid osteoma arising from the posterior surface of the right distal femur in a 21-year-old woman. After careful evaluation and excisional biopsy, histological examination confirmed the diagnosis of osteoid osteoma, showing the nidus, surrounding osteosclerosis, and catarrhal synovitis. The lesion was treated successfully with excision of the nidus
Effect of essential oils from Thymus satureioides and Origanum compactum on wheat root rot induced by Fusarium culmorum and Bipolaris sorokiniana
Durum wheat, which is a major crop in Moroccan agriculture, faces significant constraints in its production. Among these constraints, root rot is disease is one of the most important and of which control is more or less ineffective, leading to the search for alternative control methods. The aims of the present study is to investigate the effect of essential oils extracted from Thymus satureioides and Origanum compactum on wheat root rot caused by Fusarium culmorum and Bipolaris sorokiniana. The plant material used was the durum wheat variety Ourgh. Foliar treatments were carried out using the essential oils of Origanum compactum and Thymus satureioides. Disease assessment focused on severity in the root system and at the base of the stems, specifically at the first nodes. The application of Origanum compactum at a concentration of 0.31 µl/ml and Thymus satureioides at 1.25 µl/ml reduced disease severity and increased yield. However, Thymus satureioides essential oil showed a significantly higher activity in increasing yield and both essential oils resulted in a similar reduction in disease severity. Based on these results, the evaluated essential oils represent a promising alternative for controlling wheat root rot disease.

Melatonin Treatment Reduces Oxidative Damage and Normalizes Plasma Pro-Inflammatory Cytokines in Patients Suffering from Charcot-Marie-Tooth Neuropathy: A Pilot Study in Three Children
Charcot-Marie-Tooth neuropathy (CMT) is a motor and sensory neuropathy comprising a heterogeneous group of inherited diseases. The CMT1A phenotype is predominant in the 70% of CMT patients, with nerve conduction velocity reduction and hypertrophic demyelination. These patients have elevated oxidative stress and chronic inflammation. Currently, there is no effective cure for CMT; herein, we investigated whether melatonin treatment may reduce the inflammatory and oxidative damage in CMT1A patients. Three patients, aged 8–10 years, were treated with melatonin (60 mg at 21:00 h plus 10 mg at 09:00 h), and plasma levels of lipid peroxidation (LPO), nitrites (NOx), IL-1β, IL-2, IL-6, TNF-α, INF-γ, oxidized to reduced glutathione (GSSG/GSH) ratio, and the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione-S transferase (GST), glutathione peroxidase (GPx), and reductase (GRd), were determined in erythrocytes at 3 and 6 months of treatment. Healthy age- and sex-matched subjects were used as controls. The results showed increased activities of SOD, GST, GPx, and GRd in CMT1A patients, which were reduced at 3 and 6 months of treatment. The GSSG/GSH ratio significantly increased in the patients, returning to control values after melatonin treatment. The inflammatory process was confirmed by the elevation of all proinflammatory cytokines measured, which were also normalized by melatonin. LPO and NOx, which also were elevated in the patients, were normalized by melatonin. The results document beneficial effects of the use of melatonin in CMT1A patients to reduce the hyperoxidative and inflammatory condition, which may correlate with a reduction of the degenerative process
