What is power? The future geo-philosophy of Europe according to the late Nietzsche
This paper consists of two sections. In the first I will describe the characteristics power must possess, according to Nietzsche, in order to foster a true spiritual growth, namely, to establish aristocratic values and make them prosper, while in the second I will outline which prospects Nietzsche wishes for the future of Europe. The two are clearly intertwined, given that, in the eyes of Nietzsche, Europe is the very embodiment of the aristocratic ideal
Is an Ethics Inspired by the Philosophy of Severino Possible?
This paper deals with the possibility to outline some ethical notions that may be consistent with the main tenets of the philosophy of Emanuele Severino. By exploring the notion of “plural transcendental” that lays at the core of Carmelo Vigna’s “ethics of recognition”, the argument infers that, if the structure of transcendental reality implies the original presence of a relationship of mutual recognition between at least two transcendental consciousnesses, then to violate the other-ness of the Other becomes impossible, otherwise no transcendental consciousness would self-disclose ever. Yet relationships cannot be “good” or “evil”, otherwise relationships where mutual recognition is actually denied would actually exist. The original plurality of transcendental consciousnesses perfectly mirrors the actual meaning of «the true spectacle of Being» as «the irruption of differences»
L'esistere preso sul serio. Riflessioni su "Etica e ambiguità" di Adriano Fabris
In my discussion of Adriano Fabris’ Etica e ambiguit Ethics and Ambiguity ], I will consider three main objections. 1) First ly I will discuss Fabris’ attempt to criticize and reshape the Aristotelian ἔλεγχος, as it appears in the fourth book of Metaphysics , from a performative perspective , showing that it already falls within and is substantially invalidated by, the semantic domain of Aristotle’s distinction between contradiction and “self contradict ing”ing”. 2) Secondly, since Fabris invokes a reform of Western philosophy’s general attitude towards action a nd relation, I will show how classic ontology (notably Plato’s notions of being, as opposed to Parmenides’, and dialectics) already provides a robust example of a deeply relational (though admittedly not performative in the sense highlighted by Fabris) not ion of being. 3) Thirdly, I criticize Fabris’ notion of relation, because it indifferently refers both to ontology and ethics, wh ereas a proper ethical consideration of it, while necessarily i nvolving ontology, should be treated as distinct from the forme

Towards Real-Time Task Allocation in Human-Robot Collaboration: Defining Key Requirements and Features for a Multi-Simulation Digital Twin System
The Fourth Industrial Revolution, or Industry 4.0, introduces transformative changes in manufacturing by integrating advanced
digital technologies, with Human-Robot Collaboration playing a central role. This paper conducts a comprehensive literature
review to identify critical research gaps in the field of Human-Robot Collaboration within the context of Industry 4.0, focusing
on task allocation between humans and robots in assembly lines, and defines key requirements and features necessary for
developing a multi-simulation-based Digital Twin. The review reveals that existing studies often adopt a fragmented approach,
concentrating either on productivity or ergonomic aspects without integrating them holistically. Additionally, it highlights the
inconsistent use of ergonomic methodologies and the lack of real-time, operator-driven solutions in current Digital Twin
models. These gaps are addressed by key requirements and features necessary for developing a multi-simulation-based Digital
Twin system that optimizes task allocation in Human-Robot Collaboration environments. The identified requirements include
the integration of ergonomic and productivity data, real-time data exchange capabilities, and the use of established ergonomic
methodologie
European Social Survey (Round 10): opinioni e atteggiamenti su nuove tecnologie, benessere, lavoro, apprendimento, salute, immigrazione
Clinical features and therapeutic management of patients admitted to Italian acute hospital psychiatric units: the PERSEO (psychiatric emergency study and epidemiology) survey

Abstract

Background

The PERSEO study (psychiatric emergency study and epidemiology) is a naturalistic, observational clinical survey in Italian acute hospital psychiatric units, called SPDCs (Servizio Psichiatrico Diagnosi e Cura; in English, the psychiatric service for diagnosis and management). The aims of this paper are: (i) to describe the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of patients, including sociodemographic features, risk factors, life habits and psychiatric diagnoses; and (ii) to assess the clinical management, subjective wellbeing and attitudes toward medications.

Methods

A total of 62 SPDCs distributed throughout Italy participated in the study and 2521 patients were enrolled over the 5-month study period.

Results

Almost half of patients (46%) showed an aggressive behaviour at admission to ward, but they engaged more commonly in verbal aggression (38%), than in aggression toward other people (20%). A total of 78% of patients had a psychiatric diagnosis at admission, most frequently schizophrenia (36%), followed by depression (16%) and personality disorders (14%), and no relevant changes in the diagnoses pattern were observed during hospital stay. Benzodiazepines were the most commonly prescribed drugs, regardless of diagnosis, at all time points. Overall, up to 83% of patients were treated with neuroleptic drugs and up to 27% received more than one neuroleptic either during hospital stay or at discharge. Atypical and conventional antipsychotics were equally prescribed for schizophrenia (59 vs 65% during stay and 59 vs 60% at discharge), while atypical drugs were preferred in schizoaffective psychoses (72 vs 49% during stay and 70 vs 46% at discharge) and depression (41 vs 32% during stay and 44 vs 25% at discharge). Atypical neuroleptics were slightly preferred to conventional ones at hospital discharge (52 vs 44%). Polypharmacy was in general widely used. Patient attitudes toward medications were on average positive and self-reported compliance increased during hospital stay.

Conclusion

Results confirm the widespread use of antipsychotics and the increasing trend in atypical drugs prescription, in both psychiatric in- and outpatients.</p
