Investigation of activation cross-sections of proton induced nuclear reactions on natTl up to 42 MeV: review, new data and evaluation
Cross-sections of proton induced nuclear reactions on natural thallium have
been studied for investigation of the production of the medical important 201Tl
diagnostic radioisotope. The excitation functions of 204mPb, 203Pb, 202mPb,
201Pb, 200Pb, 199Pb, 202Tl (direct, cumulative), 201Tl (direct, cumulative),
200Tl(direct), and 203Hg were measured up to 42 MeV proton energy by stacked
foil technique and activation method. The experimental data were compared with
the critically analyzed experimental data in the literature, with the IAEA
recommended data and with the results of model calculations by using the
ALICE-IPPE, EMPIRE-II and TALYS codes
Opis svojstava ekstra djevičanskog maslinovog ulja dobivenog iz raznih kultivara
The determination of some minor components of extra virgin olive oil, and in particular of the polyphenolic fraction of pigments and fragrances, can contribute to the characterization of the monovarietal productions: the quali-quantitative assessment of these substances can in fact contribute to the valorisation of typicalities and, at the same time, consent to the optimisation of the operational techniques during the processing and the eventual blending.
The analytical techniques, applied here for the characterisation of extra virgin olive oil of Abruzzo and Istria, have highlighted that chemical composition can enhance the valorisation of these typical products. Nevertheless, further sampling program is needed to evidence typical composition profile that might be used as “origin markers”.Određivarije nekih manjih komponenata ekstra djevičanskog maslinovog ulja, naročito polifenolne frakcije pigmemta i mirisa, može doprinijeti svojstvima monovarijetetnih proizvoda: kvalitativna i kvalitativna procjena tih supstancija može zapravo doprinijeti valorizaciji tipičnosti te, istodobno omogućiti optimizaciju operativnih tehnika za vrijeme prerade i miješanja.
Near-infrared spectroscopy and pattern-recognition processing for classifying wines of two Italian provinces
This paper presents an experiment making use of the near-infrared spectrum for distinguishing the wines produced in
two close provinces of Abruzzo region of Italy. A collection of 32 wines was considered, 18 of which were produced in
the province of Chieti, while the other 14 were from the province of Teramo. A conventional dual-beam
spectrophotometer was used for absorption measurements in the 1300-1900 nm spectroscopic range. Principal
Component Analysis was used for explorative analysis. Score maps in the PC1-PC2 or PC2-PC3 spaces were obtained,
which successfully grouped the wine samples in two distinct clusters, corresponding to Chieti and Teramo provinces,
respectively. A modelling of dual-band spectroscopy was also proposed, making use of two LEDs for illumination and a
PIN detector instead of the spectrometer. These data were processed using Linear Discriminant Analysis which
demonstrated satisfactory classification result

Determination of the cultivar and aging of Sicilian olive oils using HPLC-MS and linear discriminant analysis
A large number of certified samples (84) of Sicilian olive oils arising from the eight cultivars most represented in Sicily (Biancolilla,
Cerasuola, Moresca, Nocellara del Belice, Nocellara Etnea, Oglialora Messinese, Brandofino and Tonda Iblea) have been collected
and analyzed by HPLC/MS using an atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI) source. The sample preparation is very
simple; in fact, the oil samples are diluted without any chemical derivatization. A following statistical data treatment by general
discriminant analysis (GDA) allows the determination of the olive oil cultivar. Furthermore, changes in the composition of
glyceridic components of the olive oils lead to easy discrimination between fresh oils and 1-year-old samples
Pour dégager leur historicité, ont été systématiquement dépouillées quatre revues sociologiques généralistes américaines (American Journal of Sociology, Social Forces, American Sociological Review and Social Problems), sur une période de soixante années (1940-2000).This paper rewiews the occurrence of the ftllowing key words: age(s), generation(s), life cycle and life course, in the titles of 259 articles published in scientific journals. Rather than indentifying the authors' intentions, the lexical analysis of the corpus objectifies the way certain orientations, topics and objects were highlighted. This study of the communication of scientific knowledge offers an alternative perception of how sociological reasoning has integrated the analysis of human and social temporalities. In order to demonstrate their historicity, four American general sociological journals (the American Journal of Sociology, Social Forces, the American Sociological Review and Social Problems) appearing between 1940 and 2000 have heen systematically analyzed
