The aim of our contribution is to understand how various forms of violence, ordinary educational violence (abbreviated to ‘OEV’) and gender-based violence, are articulated in the creative work of the comix artist Fanny Vella in the era of a fourth feminist wave, as in the context of publications on digital social networks (DSN). We first present our theoretical framework and then unveil the value system - beliefs, imaginaries, and figurability - of OEV and gender-based violence in the author's creations. On the one hand, the artist's work of (re)presentation on the web is mainly based on the exploitation of the digital universes of Instagram and Facebook; while on the other, Fanny Vella's plates plunge us into a form of sensitive, ‘aesthetic,’ and ‘ethical’ experience where the polysemic figurability of violence comes alive via emotions, takes on a symbolic body through social and cultural objects, and is performed within the communicative scene
Regulating Assisted Reproduction in Canada, Switzerland, and the USA: Comparing the Judicialization of Policy-making
This article analyses the extent to which courts shape policies for assisted reproduction. While the USA is considered to be the most litigious country, Canada has observed a growing involvement of the courts from the 1980’s onward, and Switzerland is characterized by a modest degree of judicialization. Based on national patterns, we would expect litigation and court impact to vary across these three countries. As this paper demonstrates, policy-process specific variables such as the structure of policy conflicts, the novelty of regulation, self-regulation by key stakeholders, and the policies in place better explain the variation in the judicialization of policy-making

This issue of Sextant, in the continuity of contemporary post-#MeToo reflections, intends to question the relationships between the digital, feminist discourses, their circulations and their polysemiotic forms. It is placed under the sign of the “web”, a metaphorical figure for considering the links woven between feminist discourses (including anti-) and digital technology, and echoes the web of the spider and the arachnid works of feminist artist Louise Bourgeois, recalling the work of embroiderers and tapestry-makers with fabric, as well as that of female artists and painters. And in the memory of a great Belgian feminist activist and Net agitator, Irène Kaufer, who died on 5 November 2022
