RELACIÓN ENTRE FACTORES DE RIESGO DEL CONSUMO DE DROGAS Y PRONÓSTICO ACADÉMICO EN ESTUDIANTES DE NUEVO INGRESO EN LA CARRERA DE ENFERMERÍA EN DOS UNIVERSIDADES LATINOAMERICANAS
The objective of this study was to compare risk factors associated with licit and illicit drugs use and academic prognosis of first year nursing students from two Latin American universities. The research design was non-experimental, transectional, and correlational-descriptive. Two questionnaires were used: Academic Prognosis Test (APT) by Bennett and Drug Use Screening Inventory (DUSI) test by OEA/CICAD. The outcome indicates that the academic prognosis was different in both countries, and the most relevant risk factors associated with licit and illicit drugs abuse were recreation and free time use in students from both universities. It was found that abstract reasoning ability is a drug consumption protective factor. It is concluded that it is relevant to create preventive programs, based on psychosocial skills that make students develop thinking abilities and decision making as a life skill that helps them to withstand pressures from peer groups.

Characterization of Italian honeys (Marche Region) on the basis of their mineral content and some typical quality parameters

Abstract

Background

The characterization of three types of Marche (Italy) honeys (Acacia, Multifloral, Honeydew) was carried out on the basis of the their quality parameters (pH, sugar content, humidity) and mineral content (Na, K, Ca, Mg, Cu, Fe, and Mn). Pattern recognition methods such as principal components analysis (PCA) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA) were performed in order to classify honey samples whose botanical origins were different, and identify the most discriminant parameters. Lastly, using ANOVA and correlations for all parameters, significant differences between diverse types of honey were examined.

Results

Most of the samples' water content showed good maturity (98%) whilst pH values were in the range 3.50 – 4.21 confirming the good quality of the honeys analysed. Potassium was quantitatively the most relevant mineral (mean = 643 ppm), accounting for 79% of the total mineral content. The Ca, Na and Mg contents account for 14, 3 and 3% of the total mineral content respectively, while other minerals (Cu, Mn, Fe) were present at very low levels. PCA explained 75% or more of the variance with the first two PC variables. The variables with higher discrimination power according to the multivariate statistical procedure were Mg and pH. On the other hand, all samples of acacia and honeydew, and more than 90% of samples of multifloral type have been correctly classified using the LDA. ANOVA shows significant differences between diverse floral origins for all variables except sugar, moisture and Fe.

Conclusion

In general, the analytical results obtained for the Marche honeys indicate the products' high quality. The determination of physicochemical parameters and mineral content in combination with modern statistical techniques can be a useful tool for honey classification.</p

Abstract:
In our country it is estimated that approximately half of the people with chronic diseases show lack of adherence to treatment. Within the framework of the Primary Health Care strategy, the evidence supports that work in a community environment, together with the participation of monitors who continuously provide support and education for self-care, promotes adherence to treatment and the overall functioning of the patients. patients with arterial hypertension. To understand the experiences and experiences of the monitors in the implementation of a community intervention to evaluate the adherence to the treatment of patients with a diagnosis of arterial hypertension in health centers in the eastern area of Córdoba. Qualitative phenomenological research. The participants were all community monitors who developed the intervention. The sampling was by saturation and the techniques were: analysis of field notebook records and an in-depth interview at the end of the third and final phase. The analysis was carried out by transcription of the recording, coding, categorization of the descriptors and theoretical understanding. The findings are organized in three dimensions: Relations with the research team, whose perception was felt as difficulty in integrating into the research process as a systematized project with a different logic to the daily work of the community referents and problems in meeting the meetings, to record the information collected. Relations with users, they experienced that they were close to users and that they could carry out transformations in their own community. Relationships in their daily life, they expressed that they were able to identify as a group even though they came from different health centers and achieve changes in themselves, such as improving overweight and choosing healthier foods. They felt motivated and able to restart their studies. It is evident that the articulation of joint work between community monitors and researchers generated positive experiences for daily life and reciprocity with users. Difficulties in the relationship with the research team allowed feedback, improve the process and expand training spaces.
