SHOWCASES OF ICT DURING THE COURSES AND SEMINARS ON THE GRAMMATICAL STRUCTURE OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Showcases of ICT during the Courses and Seminars on the Grammatical Structure of the English Language. The digital tools and practices are a fundamental aspect in our students’ activities and preoccupations and integrating them in the teaching-learning process triggers and keeps our students’ engagement and motivation. Our study focuses on the educational context provided by the academic environment and it illustrates the use of three digital tools and activities during courses and seminars on the Grammatical Structure of the English Language taught to first year students at Babeș-Bolyai University, the Faculty of Letters, specialisation English Language and Literature. REZUMAT. Utilizarea TIC la cursul și seminarul de Structura Gramaticală a Limbii Engleze. Instrumentele și practicile digitale constituie aspecte esențiale ale activităților și preocupărilor studenților din ziua de astăzi, iar folosirea acestora în procesul de predare-învățare determină și menține implicarea și motivația studenților. Studiul de față se axează pe contextul educațional oferit de mediul academic și ilustrează folosirea a trei instrumente și activități digitale la cursul de Structura Gramaticală a Limbii Engleze predat studenților de an I, la Universitatea Babeș-Bolyai, Facultatea de Litere, specializarea Limbă și Literatură Engleză. INTRODUCTION

Communicating via computers has lately come to represent a routine, ritual, and consequential activity on personal and professional levels alike. Under the umbrella term computer-mediated communication, a plethora of socio-cultural acts are performed that are agentive for identity construction. From among them, linguistic scholars have been particularly interested in how individual or group identities are negotiated through text across the fixed-fluid continuum. ANALYSIS OF FIRST YEAR STUDENTS’ EVALUATION DATA REGARDING THE SHIFT TO eLEARNING. A CASE IN POINT: THE ENGLISH MORPHOLOGY SEMINARS

Analysis of First Year Students’ Evaluation Data Regarding the Shift to eLearning. A Case in Point: The English Morphology Seminars. In the remote learning setting of the second semester of the academic year 2019-2020, students suddenly had access to the academic context only in a digital format. As such, content, academic instruction, peers and instructors were all part of an impromptu teaching-learning process. This study explores the relation between students and technology before/during and after the second semester. We also look at the students’ perception of a particular form of academic instruction, namely a seminar, and a particular topic, English Morphology. In order to obtain a valid analysis, we also present our students’ academic profile, their perception and attitude towards their fields of study (Philology) and towards the ideal (online) language instructor. REZUMAT. O analiză a evaluărilor studenților din anul I privind tranziția la predarea online. Cazul seminarului de morfologie. În contextul predării online din semestrul al doilea al anului universitar 2019-2020, studenții au avut acces la mediul academic doar în format digital. Astfel, conținutul, predarea, colegii și profesorii au fost parte a unui proces de predare-învățare adaptat brusc la cerințele din spațiul digital. Acest studiu analizează raportarea studenților la tehnologie înainte, în timpul și după terminarea semestrului II. Vom analiza, de asemenea, percepția studenților asupra unei anumite forme de predare universitară (seminar) și a unui anumit subiect (Morfologie engleză). SOCIO-CULTURAL DYNAMICS OF ROMANIAN THROUGH THE LENS OF RL2 LEARNERS

Socio-cultural Dynamics of Romanian through the Lens of RL2 Learners. This research investigates the social and cultural dynamics of the Romanian language, with a particular emphasis on its status as a prestige language within the RL2 learner communities. Using a mixed-methods research design, the study combines quantitative data with qualitative data obtained from observations and a questionnaire addressed to RL2 learners. Shifting the role played by the Romanian language from being a ‘minor’ language to being a prestige language within an RL2 community of practice through cultural immersion underscores the significance of social interactions in the language learning process. By offering a detailed understanding of the Romanian language within its cultural milieu, this study seeks to contribute to the portrayal of the RL2 learner profile. Dinamica socio-culturală a limbii române prin filtrul vorbitorilor de RL2. Această cercetare investighează dinamica socială și culturală a limbii române, cu accent pe statutul său de limbă de prestigiu în cadrul comunităților de vorbitori de RL2. Folosind o metodă mixtă de cercetare, studiul îmbină date cantitative cu date calitative obținute din observații și dintr-un chestionar adresat vorbitorilor de RL2. Schimbarea rolului jucat de limba română de la o limbă „minoră” la o limbă de prestigiu în cadrul comunităților de vorbitori de RL2 subliniază importanța interacțiunilor sociale în procesul de învățare a unei limbi străine. Oferind o înțelegere detaliată a limbii române în mediul său cultural, acest studiu urmărește să contribuie la portretizarea profilului vorbitorului de RL2. THE IDENTITY REPERTOIRES OF ROMANIAN MICROCELEBRITIES. A DIGITAL ETHNOGRAPHY APPROACH TO TELLING A LIFE STORY ON SOCIAL MEDIA

The Identity Repertoires of Romanian Microcelebrities. A Digital Ethnography Approach to Telling a Life Story on Social Media. The multimodal identities of microcelebrities on social network sites and the complementarity between textual and visual elements contribute to telling an autobiographical story that surpasses the digital world. Using a digital ethnography approach, we aim to analyse the way in which queer Romanian microcelebrities construct an online presence and produce online diaries of their personal lives. Adjacent to this analysis of constant online identity performance, this study will show that the digital practices used by these netizens also raise awareness of the minority groups they represent and shed light on various contemporary social issues. As such, placing emphasis on the collage technique, a qualitative analysis is needed to provide an emic perspective of the performance of fluid identities and the narrativisation of the self via complex language, discourse, and semiotic architecture. The significance of our sociocultural linguistic study is discussed in relation to the fact that the microcelebrities under consideration showcase Romanian emblematic profiles of the selfie-culture in which self-representation is constructed by apparently disjointed bits and pieces that constitute a complex matrix.   REZUMAT. Repertoriile identitare ale microcelebrităților românești. O abordare etnografică digitală a construirii unor autobiografii pe platformele online de socializare. Identitățile multimodale ale microcelebrităților de pe platformele de socializare și complementaritatea dintre elementele textuale și cele vizuale contribuie la relatarea unei povești autobiografice care transcende lumea digitală. Folosind abordarea etnografiei digitale, ne propunem să analizăm modul în care microcelebritățile queer din România își construiesc o imagine online și produc jurnale online ale vieții lor personale. Adiacent la această analiză a construcției identitare în spațiul digital, acest studiu va arăta că practicile digitale folosite de utilizatori sensibilizează, de asemenea, grupurile minoritare pe care le reprezintă și pune în lumină diferitele probleme sociale contemporane. Din cauza caracterului fragmentar al discursului în mediul online, este necesară o analiză calitativă pentru a oferi o perspectivă emică asupra identităților fluide și a narativizării sinelui prin intermediul limbajului complex, al discursului și al arhitecturii semiotice. Le réseau communicatif et la configuration polyphonique du discours publicitaire. Étude de cas

Cette étude présente le phénomène de la polyphonie dans le discours publicitaire en ligne. On analyse une publicité audiovisuelle et une publicité à image fixe, les deux au chocolat Milka, et l’impact que les slogans peuvent avoir sur les gens. Dans la publicité audiovisuelle, la polyphonie est illustrée par l’ironie et, dans la publicité à image fixe, la polyphonie est contenue dans l’intertexte. En ce qui concerne l’impact des slogans, l’article se concentre sur la polyphonie réceptive illustrée par les commentaires des internautes, deux pages Internet et les résonances actuelles au niveau discursif. Le concept linguistique de polyphonie peut être utilisé pour mieux comprendre la structure profonde du discours publicitaire en ligne

TRENDS IN COMBATING MONEY LAUNDERING IN THE EUROPEAN CONTEXT

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the result of the decisions addressed in preventing and combating money laundering by Romania, together with the other member states of the European Union, following the regulations changes in the field. Against the background of technological developments and new threats, regulators have developed rules and procedures to prevent the exploitation of the financial system for the purpose of money laundering, with clear deadlines for transposition into national law. In order to determine the impact of the joint effort in the fight against money laundering, we analyzed the annual reports of European Financial Intelligence Units for 2018 and 2019 and the reports for the last ten years (2011-2020) of the National Office for Preventing and Combating Money Laundering in Romania. Based on the data from these reports, the study presents trends by using, inter alia, descriptive statistics. The results of our study draw attention to the increase in the number of reports of suspicious transactions, the number of cases sent for investigation to the competent authorities, the number of requests for information or dissemination of information to foreign FIUs, the volume of suspended transactions and amounts seized or confiscated by authorities. Although European Union Member States have responded to the obligation to transpose European directives, further steps are needed to create a common framework for action and reporting, so that the combined efforts have real results in line with the expectations of the European institutions. Through the results presented, the study supports governmental and non-governmental entities, highlighting the areas that need immediate attention

“Formulación y estandarización de una torta a base de carne magra de pechuga de pollo (gallus domesticus), utilizando harina de Amaranto (Amaranthus spp.) como extensor cárnico.”

ABSTRACT The research focused on the formulation and standardization of a cake based on lean meat of chicken breast (Gallus domesticus), using amaranth flour (Amaranthus spp.) As a meat extender, knowing the nutritional, protein and vitamin properties of this grain. , considering it as a good element to be mixed and thus improve the formulation of a food that benefits the Guatemalan population. The procedure used was divided into three stages, the first consisted in the preparation of meat cakes, making five formulations where the contents of chicken breast meat and amaranth flour were varied, in 75% and 15% to 80% and 10% of these two elements respectively; the second stage consisted of a sensory panel made up of students from the food engineering career at the Centro Universitario de Suroccidente; and the third stage was carried out with laboratory analysis. Having as results a wide acceptance of the formulations, acceptable protein contents, omega 3-6 fatty acids, and adequate yields in weight and diameter of the cake after cooking. It is concluded that the amaranth flour works as a good extender in the formulations of the lean meat cake of chicken breast due to the results obtained from the tests carried out on the weight performance and reduction of the diameter after cooking, the acceptance of the sensory panel and high nutrient content; therefore, the research hypotheses are accepted, since there was a statistical difference between the formulations. When performing the statistical analysis, it was determined that there is no statistical difference between the formulations in terms of sensory quality; Likewise, it was established that there is no statistical difference in terms of taste, texture, smell and color aspects evaluated in the different formulations. Keywords: lean meat of chicken breast, amaranth flour, meat extender, RESUMEN La investigación se enfocó en la formulación y estandarización de una torta a base de carne magra de pechuga de pollo (Gallus domesticus), utilizando harina de amaranto (Amaranthus spp.) como extensor cárnico, conociendo las propiedades alimenticias, proteínicas y vitamínicas de este grano, considerándolo como un buen elemento para ser mezclado y así mejorar la formulación de un alimento que beneficie a la población guatemalteca. El procedimiento empleado se dividió en tres etapas, la primera consistió en la elaboración de las tortas de carne, realizando cinco formulaciones en donde se variaron los contenidos de carne de pechuga de pollo y harina de amaranto, en 75% y 15% a 80% y 10% de estos dos elementos respectivamente; la segunda etapa consistió en un panel sensorial constituido por alumnos de la carrera de Ingeniería en alimentos del Centro Universitario del Suroccidente; y la tercera etapa fue realizada con análisis de laboratorio. Teniendo como resultados una amplia aceptación de las formulaciones, aceptables contenidos de proteína, ácidos grasos omega 3-6, y rendimientos adecuados en peso y diámetro de la torta luego de la cocción. Se concluye que la harina de amaranto funciona como buen extensor en las formulaciones de la torta de carne magra de pechuga de pollo debido a los resultados obtenidos de las pruebas realizadas sobre el rendimiento de peso y reducción del diámetro después de la cocción, la aceptación del panel sensorial y el alto contenido de nutrientes; por lo cual se aceptan las hipótesis de investigación, pues existió diferencia estadística entre las formulaciones. Al realizar el análisis estadístico se determinó que no existe diferencia estadística entre las formulaciones en cuanto a calidad sensorial; de igual manera se estableció que no hay diferencia estadística en cuanto a los aspectos sabor, textura, olor y color evaluados en las distintas formulaciones. THE COLLECTIVE IMAGINARY OF ROMGLISH IN CYBERSPACE AND FACE-TO-FACE INTERACTIONS

The activity of Romanian users in digital spaces oftentimes exhibits a dynamic code containing Romglish (the combination of Romanian and English features), which also reverberates in offline discourses and has an ongoing boomerang effect between offline and online interactions. By means of a survey, this paper investigates the Romanian collective imaginary which is set in the linguistic data. As the Romanian language constitutes a matrix in which English and Globish (a simplified pragmatic form of English) are embedded and they become part of a new dynamic code, destined to be changed at all levels (lexical, morphological, and syntactical), Romanian native speakers’ perception of Romglish is an important dimension. As such, this paper will analyse how individuals perceive their personal use of Romglish online and in face-to-face interactions: the use of the code created, the preferences and mechanisms of linguistic choices and linguistic creativity, the frequency of code-switching and code-mixing both in formal and informal contexts, and the degree of universality of the code used. The findings will provide insight not only specific to the aspects of the Romglish, but also related to the cognitive processes involved and the reasons which trigger such processes

Sustainable Economic Development through Environmental Management Systems Implementation

Environmental Management protects valuable environmental assets, manages local areas on the most suitable way and develops relationships between people and the natural environment. Organizations are increasingly concerned to achieve and demonstrate environmental performance, controlling their activities, products or services on the environment. These issues are enrolled in the legislation context more and more stringent, of the development of economic policies and other measures designed to encourage environmental protection, increase business concern on environmental issues, including sustainable economic development. Thus, the complex systems of the integrated management (environmental, quality, security, energy) provide the circumstance for continuous improvement of industrial performance, including product quality and prevention and reducing environmental pollution. EMS implementation requires a thorough regard of some phases (stages) characteristic of the environmental analysis performed by an organization.
