York County Court and Intermediate Court Journal - Accession 829
The York County Court and Intermediate Court Journal collection consists of microfilm copies purchased from the South Carolina Department of Archives and History of plat books for York County, SC from 1786-1792. The South Carolina Department of Archives and History describes the collection as consisting “the day-to-day record of the proceedings of the county and intermediate court. Information generally includes the date and place of meeting; names of presiding justices and officers elected; dockets of civil and criminal cases giving names of jurors and defendants, case summaries, and disposition; lists of jurymen, taverns licensed, and road supervisors appointed; and matters pertaining to the proving of wills and other functions of the office of the ordinary under the jurisdiction of the court.”
