ASPECTS REGARDING THE ORGANIZATIONAL RESTRUCTURING OF THE COAL MINING INDUSTRY IN ROMANIA IN TERMS OF CONTINUING THE EXTRACTION ACTIVITY IN CONDITIONS OF VIABILITY
Considerations on the Cost of Electricity Production in the Context of Integration Operating Activities Underground and Production of Coal in Thermal Power Stations Electricity in the Jiu Valley Mining Area
AbstractIn the Jiu Valley mining basin the largest coal deposit of Romania is explioted. The form of organization operating activities varied in time from the mining plant that integrate all mining related activities (less than the production of electricity) to mining company of national interest (from which almost all related activities of proper operation were outsourced). During this period, electricity production activity was organized economically independent in two companies which operated the two power plants powered by coal: Paroseni power plant (located in the Jiu Valley, with spaced mass transport mining) and thermo Mintia (located outside the Jiu Valley, the mining mass transport distance of 100km). The economic results of the three entities have experienced different stages of evolution, circumscribed overall economic development of Romania. In terms of energy market liberalization in Romania, in 2012 it was decided to integrate the activities of coal mining and electricity production, the company Energy Complex Hunedoara SA being founded. The economic entity has in his structure two power plants and four units in underground mining coal. This paper analyzes the effects that this integration has had on the cost of electricity production, trying to highlight the economic benefits of it. They also highlighted possible directions for future development of the Company's economic results in the context of Romania's integration into a regional electricity market. The analysis is based on the cost of the two power plants and the four mining units. It is revealed the costs structure and their evolutionary trends. It is used the cost structure in fixed costs and variable costs (using the criterion of their behavior in relation to the level of activity) in order to allow predictions about the evolution of costs, and transformation of cost information into a useful tool for managerial decision making related to the level of activity
FDI in Romania between EU and the Global Economic Crisis
AbstractIn the context of globalization, foreign direct investment represent the main way of participation in international economic exchanges for Romania. The presence of FDI in Romania is a tradition since the early twentieth century, but they had a limited application in the postwar period and until 1989. The liberalization of the legal framework after 1989 led to the expansion of FDI in all fields of activity with beneficial effects on the national economy. Given the considerable negative impact of the economic crisis on FDI inflows in Romania, this paper aims to analyze the evolution of FDI in Romania after 1989 with special reference to two issues: adhering to the EU and the global economic crisis. The conclusions of this analysis can be used as general guidelines to reconsider the policies and instruments to attract FDI in Romania in the post crisis
Triada synergi edukacyjnej - treningu - zatrudnienia : waloryzacja potencjału pokolenia dojrzewającego
The growing importance of the knowledge based economy, globalization, ageing population, urbanization and the evolution of social structures all these are accelerating the pace of change in the labor market and in the field of required skills. To fully exploit the potential for economic recovery, strategies for education, training and employment are playing an important role which should focus on increasing and adapting skills and improve training opportunities at all levels, to promote highly skilled workforce and caring to economy’s needs and facilitate youth access to the labor market. This paper highlights the role that the younger generation has to play to ensure sustainable development of the economy of tomorrow and the importance of education in ensuring a successful career.Rosnące znaczenie gospodarki opartej na wiedzy, globalizacja, starzenie się społeczeństwa, urbanizacja i ewolucja struktur społecznych, to wszystko przyspiesza tempo zmian na rynku pracy i w zakresie wymaganych umiejętności. Aby w pełni wykorzystać możliwości ożywienia gospodarczego, strategie kształcenia, szkolenia i zatrudnienia powinny odgrywają ważną rolę, która powinna koncentrować się na zwiększaniu i dostosowaniu umiejętności i poprawy szkoleń na wszystkich poziomach, aby promować wysoko wykwalifikowaną siłę roboczą, dbanie o potrzeby gospodarki i ułatwienie młodzieży dostępu do rynku pracy. Artykuł ten podkreśla rolę jaką młodsze pokolenie ma do odegrania, w celu zapewnienia zrównoważonego rozwoju gospodarki jutra i znaczenia edukacji w zapewnieniu kariery
INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGICAL TRANSFER – DECISIVE FACTORS IN INCREASING REGIONAL COMPETITIVENESS
THE MINING PROJECTS - AN APPROACH IN TERMS OF PARTICULARITIES OF USE THE FACTOR OF PRODUCTION “CAPITAL”
Regarding the other development projects within an economy, the mining projects (objectified in underground exploitation, day-light exploitation and preparing enterprises) presents specific characters, such as: a great volume of the capital investment; important loss by stopping the invested capital; long period of recouping the invested capital; small rates of profit (or even absent); increased intensity of using the capital factor of production; high value of specific investment. A simple review of these elements determines their contact to the “capital” factor of production. Under these circumstances the given work tries to catch the particular aspects of using the “capital” factor of production in the mining branch
Improving the Efficacy and Efficiency of the Environmental Management System in the Romanian Powerplants on Coal – the Condition of the Environmental Performance
After a decade-long evolution, the use of coal for energy production is growing again. Carbon is still an important source of energyin Europe, covering about one-fourth of electricity production. There are plans to open around 50 new coal-fired power plants. But the continued use of coal has a price, we pay all, mainly with our health can be affected by excessive environmental pollutionToday more and more emphasis on the concept of „green economy” that should be reflected in improving people’s lives througheffective management of environmental issues and reducing environmental risks Thus, through the present paper we aim to highlightthose aspects that would allow the improvement of the environmental performance of coal-fired power plants in Romania byimproving the efficiency and effectiveness of the Environmental Management System (EMS) as a component of the Integrated ManagementSystem along with the Quality, Health and Safety Management System . We start from the premise that the developmentand implementation of an effective and efficient environmental management system (EMS) becomes a priority for all companies inthe field , especially since their activities based on coal burning , are considered among the most polluting.</jats:p
