    Recoil proton distribution in high energy photoproduction processes

    Get PDF
    For high energy linearly polarized photon--proton scattering we have calculated the azimuthal and polar angle distributions in inclusive on recoil proton experimental setup. We have taken into account the production of lepton and pseudoscalar meson charged pairs. The typical values of cross sections are of order of hundreds of picobarn. The size of polarization effects are of order of several percents. The results are generalized for the case of electroproduction processes on the proton at rest and for high energy proton production process on resting proton.Comment: LaTeX2e, 4 pages, 3 figure

    Neutron charge form factor at large q2q^2

    Full text link
    The neutron charge form factor GEn(q)G_{En}(q) is determined from an analysis of the deuteron quadrupole form factor FC2F_{C2} data. Recent calculations, based on a variety of different model interactions and currents, indicate that the contributions associated with the uncertain two-body operators of shorter range are relatively small for FC2F_{C2}, even at large momentum transfer qq. Hence, GEn(q)G_{En}(q) can be extracted from FC2F_{C2} at large q2q^2 without undue systematic uncertainties from theory.Comment: 8 pages, 3 figure

    A Perturbative Calculation of the Electromagnetic Form Factors of the Deuteron

    Get PDF
    Making use of the effective field theory expansion recently developed by the authors, we compute the electromagnetic form factors of the deuteron analytically to next-to-leading order (NLO). The computation is rather simple, and involves calculating several Feynman diagrams, using dimensional regularization. The results agree well with data and indicate that the expansion is converging. They do not suffer from any ambiguities arising from off-shell versus on-shell amplitudes.Comment: 22 pages, 8 figures. Discussion of effective range theory added, typos correcte

    Extracting Br(omega->pi^+ pi^-) from the Time-like Pion Form-factor

    Full text link
    We extract the G-parity-violating branching ratio Br(omega->pi^+ pi^-) from the effective rho-omega mixing matrix element Pi_{rho omega}(s), determined from e^+e^- -> pi^+ pi^- data. The omega->pi^+ pi^- partial width can be determined either from the time-like pion form factor or through the constraint that the mixed physical propagator D_{rho omega}^{mu nu}(s) possesses no poles. The two procedures are inequivalent in practice, and we show why the first is preferred, to find finally Br(omega->pi^+ pi^-) = 1.9 +/- 0.3%.Comment: 12 pages (published version

    Study of the process e+eπ+ππ0e^+e^- \to \pi^+\pi^-\pi^0 in the energy region s\sqrt[]{s} below 0.98 GeV

    Full text link
    The cross section of the process e+eπ+ππ0e^+e^-\to \pi^+\pi^-\pi^0 was measured in the Spherical Neutral Detector (SND) experiment at the VEPP-2M collider in the energy region s\sqrt[]{s} below 980 MeV. This measurement was based on about 1.2×1061.2 \times 10^6 selected events. The obtained cross section was analyzed together with the SND and DM2 data in the energy region s\sqrt[]{s} up to 2 GeV. The ω\omega-meson parameters: mω=782.79±0.08±0.09m_\omega=782.79\pm 0.08\pm 0.09 MeV, Γω=8.68±0.04±0.15\Gamma_\omega=8.68\pm 0.04\pm 0.15 MeV and σ(ω3π)=1615±9±57\sigma(\omega\to 3\pi)=1615\pm 9\pm 57 nb were obtained. It was found that the experimental data cannot be described by a sum of only ω\omega, ϕ\phi, ω\omega^\prime and ω\omega^{\prime\prime} resonances contributions. This can be interpreted as a manifestation of ρ3π\rho\to 3\pi decay, suppressed by GG-parity, with relative probability B(ρ3π)=(1.01±0.360.54±0.034)×104B(\rho\to 3\pi) = (1.01\pm^{0.54}_{0.36}\pm 0.034) \times 10^{-4}.Comment: 41 pages REVTEX and 34 figure

    Study of the process e+eπ+πe^+e^- \to \pi^+\pi^- in the energy region 400<\sqrt[]{s}<1000 MeV

    Full text link
    The cross section of the process e^+e^-\to \pi^+\pi^- was measured in the SND experiment at the VEPP-2M collider in the energy region 400<\sqrt[]{s}<1000 MeV. This measurement was based on about 12.4 \times 10^6 selected collinear events, which include 7.4\times 10^6 e^+e^-\to e^+e^-, 4.5\times 10^6 e^+e^-\to\pi^+\pi^- and 0.5\times 10^6 e^+e^-\to\mu^+\mu^- selected events. The systematic uncertainty of the cross section determination is 1.3 %. The \rho-meson parameters were determined: m_\rho=774.9\pm 0.4\pm 0.5 MeV, \Gamma_\rho=146.5\pm 0.8\pm 1.5 MeV, \sigma(\rho\to\pi^+\pi^-)=1220\pm 7\pm 16 nb as well as the parameters of the G-parity suppressed decay \omega\to\pi^+\pi^-: \sigma(\omega\to\pi^+\pi^-)=29.9\pm 1.4\pm 1.0 nb and \phi_{\rho\omega} = 113.5\pm 1.3\pm 1.7 degree.Comment: 30 pages REVTEX and 31 figure
