    Braided racks, Hurwitz actions and Nichols algebras with many cubic relations

    We classify Nichols algebras of irreducible Yetter-Drinfeld modules over groups such that the underlying rack is braided and the homogeneous component of degree three of the Nichols algebra satisfies a given inequality. This assumption turns out to be equivalent to a factorization assumption on the Hilbert series. Besides the known Nichols algebras we obtain a new example. Our method is based on a combinatorial invariant of the Hurwitz orbits with respect to the action of the braid group on three strands.Comment: v2: 35 pages, 6 tables, 14 figure

    Este informe resume un reconocimiento geológico del área de Tamborapa (Dist. TABACONAS) por encargo de CMPA dentro del Proyecto San-Ignacio Chinchipe. En ésta área anteriormente (1985) geólogos del INGEMMET habían realizado un programa de prospección regional por oro, habiéndose detectado una cierta cantidad de anomalías, en ésta zona, además de algunas estructuras mineralizadas. Nuestro trabajo comprendió un levantamiento geológico regional del área Tamborapa y alrededores a escala 1: 25,000, una caracterización petrográfica de las rocas y sus alteraciones además de un muestreo geoquímico de comprobación de anomalías de oro. El grupo Dr. Leifeld e Ing. Zedano realizó un estudio geológico detallado de las estructuras mineralizada (Qda. Las Minas y su muestreo respectivo (ver su informe). El trabajo de campo se realizó del 08 de mayo al 06 de junio de 1988

    Lipid and fatty acid digestibility is presumably high in Channel Catfish, but data is lacking. We determined the lipid and fatty acid digestibility of traditional and alternative dietary lipids in Channel Catfish to inform lipid choice for commercial diets. Six diets contained 4% of different lipids: soybean oil (SBO), soybean oil containing conjugated linoleic acids (CLA-SBO), catfish offal oil (COO), flaxseed oil (FXO), menhaden fish oil (MFO) and poultry fat (PF). Diets were fed to Channel Catfish (150–200 g) maintained at 26.5 °C in each of six 110 L aquaria. Six hours post-prandial, feces were collected for analysis. Total lipid, crude protein and fatty acids of lyophilized feces were analyzed, and apparent digestibility coefficients (ADCs) were calculated. ADCs of lipid, saturated and monounsaturated fatty acids, linoleic acid and protein digestibility were similar among diets. CLA isomers (cis-9, trans-11 (84.1%) and trans-10, cis-12 (90%)) in the CLA-SBO diet were highly digestible. Oleic acid digestibility was highest in the PF diet. ADC was high for α-linolenic acid in the FXO diet, and for arachidonic acid and n-3 LC-PUFA in the MFO diet. Overall, total lipid digestibility was high, but ADCs of individual fatty acids differed by source.This article is published as Maina, Andrew, Rebecca Lochmann, Steven D.     Identification of a BRCA2-Specific modifier locus at 6p24 related to breast cancer risk

    Common genetic variants contribute to the observed variation in breast cancer risk for BRCA2 mutation carriers; those known to date have all been found through population-based genome-wide association studies (GWAS). To comprehensively identify breast cancer risk modifying loci for BRCA2 mutation carriers, we conducted a deep replication of an ongoing GWAS discovery study. Using the ranked P-values of the breast cancer associations with the imputed genotype of 1.4 M SNPs, 19,029 SNPs were selected and designed for inclusion on a custom Illumina array that included a total of 211,155 SNPs as part of a multi-consortial project. DNA samples from 3,881 breast cancer affected and 4,330 unaffected BRCA2 mutation carriers from 47 studies belonging to the Consortium of Investigators of Modifiers of BRCA1/2 were genotyped and available for analysis. We replicated previously reported breast cancer susceptibility alleles in these BRCA2 mutation carriers and for several regions (including FGFR2, MAP3K1, CDKN2A/B, and PTHLH) identified SNPs that have stronger evidence of association than those previously published. We also identified a novel susceptibility allele at 6p24 that was inversely associated with risk in BRCA2 mutation carriers (rs9348512; per allele HR = 0.85, 95% CI 0.80-0.90, P = 3.9×10−8). This SNP was not associated with breast cancer risk either in the general population or in BRCA1 mutation carriers. The locus lies within a region containing TFAP2A, which encodes a transcriptional activation protein that interacts with several tumor suppressor genes. This report identifies the first breast cancer risk locus specific to a BRCA2 mutation background. This comprehensive update of novel and previously reported breast cancer susceptibility loci contributes to the establishment of a panel of SNPs that modify breast cancer risk in BRCA2 mutation carriers. This panel may have clinical utility for women with BRCA2 mutations weighing options for medical prevention of breast cancer
