ON THE BRINK

This article introduces the radical change of perspective on the creation process of meaning in multimedia. Following the Computational Media Aesthetics ' paradigm and broadening it by using methods of the film semiotics, it introduces a theory of deconstruction that brings forward the role of the observer in the production of meaning. We propose a scheme that utilises this approach in the content-based retrieval scenario
