Linear relations for the number of overpartitions into odd parts

Let po(n)\overline{p}_o(n) denote the number of overpartitions of nn into odd parts. The partition function po(n)\overline{p}_o(n) has been the subject of many recent studies where many explicit Ramanujan-like congruences were discovered. In this paper, we provide three linear recurrence relation for po(n)\overline{p}_o(n). Several connections with partitions into parts not congruent to 2(mod4)2 \pmod 4, overpartitions and partitions into distinct parts are presented in this context

Background: To assess the knowledge, attitudes and practice of medical faculty regarding research ethics and research ethics committees (RECs).Methods: A cross-sectional, questionnaire-based study was conducted in ESIC medical colleges in Bangalore among faculty using a validated questionnaire. Questions were designed to assess the knowledge, attitudes and practice of medical faculty regarding research ethics and research ethics committees. Statistical analysis was done using descriptive statistics and chi-square tests. Results: Majority (76%) of faculty had not undergone training in research ethics. Less than half of the participants answered correctly to a question on guidelines in research ethics, 60% responded correctly to question on research involving children. Majority responded correctly to question on role of a research ethics committee and confidentiality, informed consent and to question on composition of Institutional Ethics Committee. 68% taught that ethical review of research by an ethics committee would delay research. >90% were favourable towards research ethics training. Faculty held attitudes regarding certain research ethics practices that were not optimal, 96% believed that it is okay to fabricate data, 68% taught that if no surrogate is available to give informed consent for vulnerable groups, they could still be included. Conclusions: We conclude that among the medical faculties participating in our study, there is acceptance of RECs and training in research ethics, while there are knowledge gaps in research ethics guidelines, research involving children. There is need to train researchers and students to make them aware about various aspects of research

Framework for comprehensive enhancement of brain tumor images with single-window operation

Usage of grayscale format of radiological images is proportionately more as compared to that of colored one. This format of medical image suffers from all the possibility of improper clinical inference which will lead to error-prone analysis in further usage of such images in disease detection or classification. Therefore, we present a framework that offers single-window operation with a set of image enhancing algorithm meant for further optimizing the visuality of medical images. The framework performs preliminary pre-processing operation followed by implication of linear and non-linear filter and multi-level image enhancement processes. The significant contribution of this study is that it offers a comprehensive mechanism to implement the various enhancement schemes in highly discrete way that offers potential flexibility to physical in order to draw clinical conclusion about the disease being monitored. The proposed system takes the case study of brain tumor to implement to testify the framework

COMMUNITY BASED NODE COOPERATIVE IN MOBILE AD-HOC NETWORK

    Get PDF
Generally In a network you will find selfish nodes , which don’t want to forward other’s information, Because of these nodes network performance will decrease drastically, sometimes even it get disconnected. From last few years research is going on this problem, and there are so many solutions were proposed, which are related to some incentive approaches, and some Game theory approaches. But in case of large social networks implementing these methods are difficult and also becomes more complicated. So Instead of implementing methods on single node, it is better to divide the network into communities. If we divide the social network into some communities we can define some standard method over the communities to improve the network performance against the selfish nodes

Maternal and perinatal outcome of pregnancy in women with one previous caesarean section-a study at a tertiary care centre

Background: Increasing rates of primary caesarean section has led to an increased proportion of obstetric population with history of prior caesarean delivery. There is growing concern by obstetrician for optimizing the management of these high risk cases. The present study was undertaken to evaluate obstetric and fetal outcome of patients presenting at term with history of one previous LSCS.Methods: This was a prospective hospital based observational study conducted at Vani Vilas Hospital and Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital, Department of OBG, BMC and RI, Bangalore. The study included 300 patients who had undergone previous one LSCS with term pregnancy. Results: Majority of patients, that is 186 (62%) were in the age group of 21 to 25 years. Out of 300 patients, 94 (31.33%) patients went for repeat LSCS without trial. 206 (68.67%) patients were included in the trial of labour group, out of which 109 (52.9%) patients had successful vaginal delivery. 97 (47.1%) patients went for repeat LSCS in trial group due to various indications, commonest being scar tenderness. Conclusions: Delivery of patients with previous caesarean section should always be conducted in a well-equipped hospital where facilities for immediate intervention are available if necessity arises. These patients should be counselled antenatally regarding institutional delivery, encouraging trial of labour after caesarean section in select group of patients with close fetal and maternal monitoring for early detection of complications and its management reduces maternal and perinatal mortality and morbidity

Antigenotoxic potential of the aqueous basidiocarp extracts of Calocybe indica

    Get PDF
Calocybe indica, commonly known as the milky white mushroom, is an edible mushroom native to India. The antigenotoxic potential of the aqueous basidiocarp extract (25 g/L and 50 g/L) of C. indica was investigated using the Allium cepa test system. Meristematic cells of root tips treated with 100% Coca-Cola served as a positive control. A significant reduction in the mitotic index (7.83 ± 0.60) was observed in the positive control (100% Coca-Cola) compared to the negative control. The highest percentage (65.25 ± 4.58) of chromosomal abnormalities was observed in the positive control. Chromosomal abnormalities were significantly reduced in root tip cells treated with Coca-Cola followed by treatment with basidiocarp extracts such as 25 g/L and 50 g/L (30.32 ± 4.44 and 14.20 ± 2.41, respectively). Coca-Cola induced chromosomal abnormalities were reduced by treatment with basidiocarp extracts, demonstrating the antimutagenic potential of C. indica. The present study indicates that the aqueous basidiocarp extracts of C. indica have anti-genotoxic effects. The clastogenic abnormalities caused by Coca-Cola are competently restored in the root meristem cells of A. cepa treated with the extract

A NOVEL MATLAB/SIMELECTRONICS MODEL OF PV ARRAY WITH MPPT CONTROLLER

    Get PDF
A photovoltaic array (PVA) simulation model to be used in Matlab-Simelectronic GUI environment will be developed and analyzed in this paper. In Simelectronic environment the simulink signal is converted to physical signal and again physical signal is converted to simulink signal. The model is developed using basic circuit equations of the photovoltaic (PV) solar cells including the effects of solar irradiation and temperature changes. The new model developed will be tested using a directly coupled dc load. A new implemented Photovoltaic Array Simulation model is to be developed by using Matlab/ Simelectronic Simulation Software. Test and validation studies with proper load matching circuits are simulated and results are presented here

Laurence moon Biedyl syndrome is a rare autosomal recessive condition with a wide spectrum of clinical features. The accepted major criteria for diagnosis include retinal dystrophy, obesity, Polydactyly, male hypogonadism, mental retardation and renal dysfunction. We have presented a 36 year old male patient exhibiting characteristic features of Laurence moon Biedyl syndrome and then the literature is reviewed
