Correlation of qEEG with PET in schizophrenia
PET relative metabolism was correlated with quantitative EEG in 9 schizophrenic patients. The PET metabolic regions of interest were the frontal lobes, thalamus and basal ganglia, and right and left temporal lobes. Significant positive correlations were seen for the frontal lobes and delta EEG power, and alpha power with subcortical metabolism. The physiologic plausibility of those correlations is discussed with reference to the possible effect of neuroleptic medication
Liquid metal magnetohydrodynamics (LMMHD) technology transfer feasibility study. Volume 1: Summary
The potential application of liquid metal magnetohydrodynamics (LMMHD) to central station utility power generation through the period to 1990 is examined. Included are: (1) a description of LMMHD and a review of its development status, (2) LMMHD preliminary design for application to central station utility power generation, (3) evaluation of LMMHD in comparison with conventional and other advanced power generation systems and (4) a technology development plan. One of the major conclusions found is that the most economic and technically feasible application of LMMHD is a topping cycle to a steam plant, taking advantage of high temperatures available but not usable by the steam cycle
Exchange Rate Volatility and Trade Flows
After the collapse of Bretton-Woodssystem in 1973, many countries adopted the floating exchange rate regime. Thissituation led to fluctation and uncertainties in the exchange rates. There arenumber of studies that analyze the effect of Exchange rate volatility on tradeflows but previous studies cannot obtain results about sectoral base due to thelack of disaggregated data sets. This study investigates the effects ofexchange rate volatility on trade flows in Turkey. For this purpose usingannual data covers the period 2002-2013. Exports to 15 European countries andimports from 15 European countries are analyzed by panel methodology. According to the test results, export sectorsare negatively affected; import sectors are both positively and negativelyaffected from exchange rate volatility

Studies of hepatic synthesis in vivo of plasma proteins, including orosomucoid, transferrin, α-antitrypsin, C8, and factor B
Serum protein types were determined in eight recipients and donors in cases of hepatic homotransplantation. A change from recipient type to donor type was observed for factor B, C8, orosomucoid, haptoglobin, transferrin, α1-antitrypsin, C3 and C6, but not for Gm and Inv immunoglobulin markers. The results indicate that all the proteins studied (except immunoglobulins) are produced primarily by the liver in vivo. © 1980
Effect of kinetic resonances on the stability of Resistive Wall Mode in Reversed Field Pinch
The kinetic effects, due to the mode resonance with thermal particle drift
motions in the reversed field pinch (RFP) plasmas, are numerically investigated
for the stability of the resistive wall mode, using a non-perturbative
MHD-kinetic hybrid formulation. The kinetic effects are generally found too
weak to substantially change the mode growth rate, or the stability margin,
re-enforcing the fact that the ideal MHD model is rather adequate for
describing the RWM physics in RFP experiments.Comment: Submitted to: Plasma Phys. Control. Fusio
