Vitamin D Level in Patients with Bone Diseases and Dental Caries
VITAMIN D, it is a steroid (steroids are group of substances derived from perhydrocyclopentano phenanthrene nucleus) prohormone with antirachitic properties, also known as cholecalciferol, calciferol. calcipotriol ,ergocalciferol, and vitamin D2. HPLC is a new come in the field of liquid chromatography. It is probably the single most used analytical technique today. HPLC system is unique among laboratory instruments because it can be assembled using components from different manufacturers and suppliers. A wide variety of tissues and cells, including the brain, gonads, breast, skin, mononuclear cells, and activated B and T lymphocytes, possess VDR. The first insight into biological action of (1,25 (OH)2 D) in non calcemic tissues was the observation that promyelocytic leukemic cells with a VDR transformed into mature, biochemical functioning macrophages after being treated with (1 , 25 (OH)2 D)(35) During 5 months (March, April, May, June and , August) 60 blood samples (29 males and 31 females ) were collected from healthy volunteers and simultaneously 92 blood samples (33 males and 59 females ) were collected from patients attending to AL – Hakims General Hospital, AL- Zahra Hospital , and some other private clinic in AL- Najaf city. All of the patients are from Al- Najaf city, Iraqi people, they lived in this society with poor to middle life style and the income of these families approximately at the same. The study primarily was intended to adapt a method for measuring vitamin D levels in serum samples in order to make reliable evaluation of this vitamin in Iraqi population (Al-Najaf governorate). The HPLC method was the method of choice in this field .The reverse phase HPLC method has a very high sensitivity and needs only a very small amount of sample without any complicated pretreatment for the used serum which may be a major source of errors. The mean of vitamin D levels in both sexes and in different seasons was 19.21ng / ml the other related statistical parameters and serum calcium level. Strategies to Minimise the Impact of COVID-19 on the Construction Industry: A Case Study of Construction Site Clusters in Malaysia
Malaysia has seen the third wave of infection since the start of the global COVID-19 pandemic, with approximately 103 construction sites involving over 14,667 workers reported from April 2020 to February 2021. This has led to limited progress in construction projects or a complete halt, resulting in late project delivery. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the factors influencing the spread of COVID-19 and the strategies taken by the affected construction sites to mitigate the spread of the outbreak. The researchers adopted a case study approach with a multiple-case design and discusses the use of an in-depth interviewing method to collect rich data on the studied phenomenon. Data were collected from three construction sites. The sites were mixed development projects in nature and provided in-depth, rigorous, and robust information. Based on the results, two categories of factors influencing the spread of COVID-19 were established. These are primary and secondary factors, such as workers’ mobilisation, uncontrolled movement of workers, and the limited practice of social distancing. Furthermore, evidence suggests that the strategies adopted to control the effects of the pandemic were a combination of government enforcement and initiatives taken by construction companies. This paper concludes that an early identification of the causes of the spread will enable appropriate implementation strategies to control the outbreak. This study is an attempt to present the experiences of one developing country as an example of a means of dealing with unexpected pandemics or other intractable diseases that can affect project delivery
A comparison of lexical richness in L2 written productions
Indeed research has shown that vocabulary acquisition is one of the chal-lenges of a language learner; even more so for productive vocabulary. Thus this study intends to investigate the lexical richness of 2 groups of EFL learners. This was done through a content analysis of 139 essays of entry-level university students and 140 essays of third-year university students studying at an English medium university. Both these groups of students scored at least a band 6 or 550 in TOEFL. Specifically, the objective of this study is to find out if there are differences in the lexical richness of these two groups of essays in the type-token ratio. This study also intends to find out if there are differences between the two different groups of essays in the use of the 1,000, 2,000, word levels, the AWL as well as the use of the words not-in-the-list. The RANGE programme developed by Nation, Heat-ley & Coxhead (2002) was used to carry out the above procedure. Findings of the study showed that the two groups of essays show a statistically significant difference in the use of the 1,000, 2,000, word levels and the AWL by the two groups of learners. There was also a difference in the not-in-the-list category. This research has pedagogical implications for the teaching of vocabulary in the language classroom with a specific focus on the development of lexical richness in EFL learners’ written production
Design and development of 3-rrs parallel platforms using simmechanics
Parallel platform is highly used in the field of engineering for simulation of vehicle motion. Parallel platform normally used in aviation industry and recently in gamming sector. The system is able to actuate physical motions in giving the user to experience how the vehicle would respond. With input given, parallel platform encapsulates occupants and creates effect of being inside a moving vehicle and create real time environment. This project will study and use kinematic mathematical modeling to determine of the possible motion characteristic when the linear displacement of the platform is restricted. The Micro Servo Motor is used as parallel mechanism with a platform as its load. The 3-DOF parallel platforms composed of a moving rectangular platform that connected to a fixed base with the same shape by three (RRS) extendable legs. The extremities of each leg are fitted with a 1-DOF revolute joint (R) at the base connected to one revolute joint from servomotor and a 3-DOF spherical joint (S) at the platform legs are actuated using revolute joints (R). The three axes of the revolute joints at the base are arranged in 120 degrees and the axis of every one is parallel to the opposite segment of the triangular base. 3-RRS parallel manipulators allow the platform to rotate and translate. Validation will do in MATLAB/Simmechanics and experimental shows similar movement. The results show the position of platform when the signal is trigger to the legs joins
Open Migration Policy and Security
The advent of post-colonial era shows Asia-Pacific regions such as Malaysia, China, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan have restricted migration policy. Despite the restriction, intellectual debates about the prospect of having open migration grew. The debates generally concentrate on what exactly are the benefits and risks of introducing open migration. This paper seeks to discuss what exactly are the benefits and risk of having open migration policies. To do so, it is argued that explanation on what exactly are the benefits and risk of having open migration policy must be tracked down by analyzing the security, economic and cultural issues in receiving country. Accordingly, based on literature as well as documents review, this paper suggest that open migration policy can be a source of security threats in receiving country which including the way that open migration may bring about uncontrolled population growth. In contrast, open migration policy may bring about economic and cultural enrichment in receiving country. Therefore, given the fact that open migration may bring about risks and benefits to receiving countries, this paper also explores the prospect of migration policy improvement as means of application for not only preventing the country form any risks, but also consolidating the economic and cultural enrichment though migration policy
