Roselund Hostel online reservation and guest information system
Abstract onlyRoselund hostel of Central Philippine University uses the manual method in storing up and retrieving their files. The process of doing their transactions such as keeping the guest records is done manually. This method, although efficient, is time-consuming due to delays in searching from their cabinets or in their folders. The person in-charge in the record section of the said hostel needs a new and efficient way of handling documents for proper record management.
This Roselund hostel Online Reservation and Guest Information System is highly conceptualized, futuristically designed and carefully tested system that will speed up the existing manual process in storing up files and reduce the time in retrieval of guest reservation records. Basically, the process is done by making a reservation with the use of the said system, validate the reservation results then save it on the database. Only the stored data will be presented upon check in. Logically, this will greatly benefit the administrator, faculty, staff, and guests, and the university itself as described herein. The researchers and developers of this system used Iterative Life Cycle Model where every stage was cautiously carried out. This will be implemented through the concept of Information Technology, Networking, Data Security, Web Application and Relational Database Management System.Includes bibliographical referencesBachelor of Science in Information Technolog

A Comparative Analysis of Climate-Risk and Extreme Event-Related Impacts on Well-Being and Health: Policy Implications
There are various climate risks that are caused or influenced by climate change. They are known to have a wide range of physical, economic, environmental and social impacts. Apart from damages to the physical environment, many climate risks (climate variability, extreme events and climate-related hazards) are associated with a variety of impacts on human well-being, health, and life-supporting systems. These vary from boosting the proliferation of vectors of diseases (e.g., mosquitos), to mental problems triggered by damage to properties and infrastructure. There is a great variety of literature about the strong links between climate change and health, while there is relatively less literature that specifically examines the health impacts of climate risks and extreme events. This paper is an attempt to address this knowledge gap, by compiling eight examples from a set of industrialised and developing countries, where such interactions are described. The policy implications of these phenomena and the lessons learned from the examples provided are summarised. Some suggestions as to how to avert the potential and real health impacts of climate risks are made, hence assisting efforts to adapt to a problem whose impacts affect millions of people around the world. All the examples studied show some degree of vulnerability to climate risks regardless of their socioeconomic status and need to increase resilience against extreme events
Language Planning as Nation Building
The decades around 1800 constitute the seminal period of European nationalism. The linguistic corollary of this was the rise of standard language ideology, from Finland to Spain, and from Iceland to the Habsburg Empire. Amidst these international events, the case of Dutch in the Netherlands offers a unique example. After the rise of the ideology from the 1750s onwards, the new discourse of one language–one nation was swiftly transformed into concrete top-down policies aimed at the dissemination of the newly devised standard language across the entire population of the newly established Dutch nation-state. Thus, the Dutch case offers an exciting perspective on the concomitant rise of cultural nationalism, national language planning and standard language ideology.
This study offers a comprehensive yet detailed analysis of these phenomena by focussing on the ideology underpinning the new language policy, the institutionalisation of this ideology in metalinguistic discourse, the implementation of the policy in education, and the effects of the policy on actual language use
