Verstetigung und Verbreitung von E-Learning im Verbundstudium. Onlinebefragung als Promotor und Instrument zur Einbeziehung der Lehrenden bei der Entwicklung und Umsetzung

Das Verbundstudium der nordrhein-westfälischen Fachhochschulen bietet über 3000 Studierenden die Möglichkeit, in einer Kombination von Präsenz- und Selbststudium neben dem Beruf zu studieren. Das Institut für Verbundstudien koordiniert und organisiert die Kooperationsprozesse der Hochschulen und engagiert sich mit seinem Bereich Hochschuldidaktik und Fernstudienentwicklung als Entwicklungs- und Kompetenzzentrum im Bereich der Neuen Medien und des E-Learnings. Zur Verbreitung und Verstetigung der digitalen Lehr- und Lernangebote sowie der Optimierung der Kooperations- und Supportstrukturen hat das Institut eine Onlinebefragung von 200 Lehrenden zur Situation und den Perspektiven des E-Learnings im Verbundstudium durchgeführt. Die Studie zeigt, dass für die Lehrenden auch zukünftig die gedruckte Lerneinheit das zentrale Element der Lehre sein wird. Sie sehen Bedarf zur Ergänzung und Anreicherung des Studiums sowie des Lernens und wünschen sich zur Unterstützung der Lehre ergänzende digitale Elemente vor allem in folgenden Bereichen: Kommunikation, Ergänzungen zu Lerneinheiten (Linklisten, Übungen, ergänzende Medien und Materialien), übergreifendes Glossar. Die Ergebnisse der Onlinebefragung sind die Grundlage des von den Gremien des Verbundstudiums beschlossenen E-Learning-Konzepts. Die von den Lehrenden gewünschten digitalen Elemente und Funktionen sind im Rahmen der Entwicklung durch den Bereich Hochschuldidaktik und Fernstudienentwicklung in der E-Learning-Umgebung VS-online umgesetzt worden. Eye fixations to figures in a four-choice situation with luminance balanced areas: Evaluating practice effects

Contingency analyses of eye movements may reveal variables that are relevant to the stimulus control of observing behavior. The present research tracked the eye movements of four adults exposed to a simultaneous discrimination among four stimuli, two two-dimensional (square and circle) and two three-dimensional (cube and cylinder) mono-chromatic figures with approximately equal luminance. On each discrimination trial, the stimuli were displayed in the four corners of a video monitor and participants chose among them by pressing corresponding keys. For two participants, choosing either cube or square (S+) was followed by the word “correct” and a 3-second inter-trial interval. Alternatively, choosing either cylinder or circle (S-) was followed by "incorrect" and a 30-second inter-trial interval. For the other two participants, contingencies were reversed. The position of the stimuli on the screen varied randomly across trials. The procedure continued for 80 trials. During these trials, discriminated choices were established. Despite the presence of both a two- and a three-dimensional S+ on each trial, responses to the three-dimensional S+ tended to prevail. Although general eye fixations tended to decrease as discrimination was established, subjects tended to observe S+ for longer durations than S-. Long-Distance Passenger Rail Services: Review and Improvement

The situation of long-distance in Europe rail has faced different developments at literally different speeds since the fall of the Iron Curtain. Relevant central European parts of the OEM Corridor (e.g. Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria and Hungary) first suffered a considerable decline in cross-border long-distance rail traffic due to the emergence of low-cost airlines and the freedom of car purchase in the 1990s. Since the beginning of the millennium and partly following the 2004 accession of Middle and Eastern European countries to the European Union, a slight renaissance of Eurocity trains and market penetration of high-speed rail products can be perceived. The other countries in the eastern part of the corridor have mostly not recovered from the rail decline and lag behind. In Greece, rail development suffers generally from unfavourable conditions (different track gauges and disproportion of land and population distribution) and a lack of innovation, and has thus been negatively impacted by the abovementioned boom of car and air. Its geographical isolation in Europe also plays a role. The political downturn of former Yugoslavia reinforced the situation. For passenger rail along the corridor, the paper argues that considerable improvements in service quality and travel time reduction can be made without doubtful high investment in high-speed rail infrastructure. Moreover, building up existing rail infrastructure may avoid giving up conventional rail services as shown for some high-speed rail cases.Der schienengebundene Personenfernverkehr in Europa hat sich seit dem Fall des Eisernen Vorhangs mit buchstäblich unterschiedlichen Geschwindigkeiten unterschiedlich entwickelt. Wichtige mitteleuropäische Teile des OEM Corridors (z.B. Deutschland, Tschechien, Österreich und Ungarn) erfuhren aufgrund des Aufkommens von Billigfluggesellschaften und der "neuen" Freiheit beim Kauf des eigenen PKW in den 1990er Jahren zunächst einen erheblichen Rückgang des grenzüberschreitenden Schienenpersonenfernverkehrs. Seit der Jahrtausendwende und teilweise nach dem Beitritt mittel- und osteuropäischer Länder zur Europäischen Union im Jahr 2004 ist eine leichte Renaissance der Eurocity-Züge und die Marktausbreitung von Hochgeschwindigkeits- Bahnprodukten zu verzeichnen. Weitere Länder im östlichen Teil des Korridors haben sich oft nicht vom Rückgang der Schieneninfrastruktur erholt und hinken hinterher. In Griechenland sind die Bedingungen für das System Schiene generell ungünstig (unterschiedliche Spurweiten und Missverhältnis bei Siedlungs- und Bevölkerungsverteilung) und mangelnder Innovation und wurde daher durch den oben genannten PKW-Boom und ansteigendes Luftverkehrsaufkommen negativ beeinflusst. Auch die geografische Randlage Griechenlands in Europa spielt eine Rolle. Der politische Abschwung im ehemaligen Jugoslawien verstärkte diese Situation. Der Beitrag legt dar, dass erhebliche Verbesserungen bei der Servicequalität und der Verkürzung der Reisezeiten ohne fragwürdig hohe Investitionen in den Hochgeschwindigkeitsverkehr auf der Schiene erreicht werden können. Darüber hinaus kann durch einen Ausbau der bestehenden Schieneninfrastruktur vermieden werden, den klassischen Fernverkehr aufzugeben, wie die Entwicklung des Hochgeschwindigkeitsverkehrs andernorts in Europa verdeutlicht

Keelhauling Pirates: How Ex Parte Seizure of Non-Interfering LPFM Does Not Further the FCC\u27S Public Interest

This Comment describes how FCC regulatory policy has shifted from the public trust model to a privately driven approach. Ex parte seizure of non-interfering pirate radio equipment does not match current FCC regulatory theory and works against traditional public interest factors. Part III analyzes new FCC policy towards Low Power FM and suggests that the Supreme Court develop fresh precedent to keep pace. Part IV addresses Fourth Amendment concerns by exploring alternate enforcement methods and proposing more reasonable approaches to license enforcement. Finally, Part V analyzes the Due Process implications of ex parte seizures under the Supreme Court\u27s Mathews framework. Under Parts IV and V, the emergence of dual use technology has made ex parte seizure a riskier play from the government\u27s perspective

A resposta de observação e os estudos sobre a discriminação nas décadas de 1930 e 1940

A investigação empírica sobre o processo da discriminação realizada nas décadas de 1930 e 1940 foi acompanhada por um longo debate, conhecido com a Controvérsia Continuidade vs. Descontinuidade. Questões sobre a natureza seletiva da discriminação e o papel de respostas sensoriais compuseram o problema de pesquisa de Wyckoff que culminaria na elaboração do conceito e do delineamento experimental da resposta de observação. Com o objetivo de apresentar o contexto histórico de surgimento da resposta de observação, a presente pesquisa foi conduzida com base nas referências dos artigos originais de Wyckoff. O delineamento de observação permitiu a obtenção de medidas independentes de duas classes de respostas importantes para o estabelecimento da discriminação. O papel das respostas sensoriais e, especificamente, da resposta de observação foram abordados experimentalmente a partir de condições onde o contato do organismo com os estímulos discriminativos não é garantido ou favorecido pelo arranjo de estímulo

5G-based localization in industrial environments

This paper focuses on challenges occurring when using the 5G NR standard as a real- world application for precise localization in industrial environments. The different aspects of a mobile network based localization approach are discussed. First an overview on mobile network setup is given. Based on a mobile network emulation a first localization is conducted in an indoor laboratory. Afterwards the influence of indoor channel properties and the arising problems are discussed. With the results from this discussion, a new system model is introduced to improve the localization accuracy down to one meter
