The chaotic character of the convective heat transfer enhancement inside a still cannot be stated from a unique indicator. In previous papers time series, the Fourier spectrum and the growing rate of h were performed. In the present work Lyapunov exponents of h are calculated, as well as those of the time series of measured temperatures involved in its calculation. The results show that some series of h present chaos and others not, while all the temperatures measurements show a chaotic behaviour.Asociación Argentina de Energías Renovables y Medio Ambiente (ASADES
Communication in Handball Training and Performance. A Lost Variable: Systematic Review (2013-2023)
Los entrenadores pueden utilizar esta información para mejorar la formación y el rendimiento.[Abstract] Handball, a highly dynamic and competitive sport, involves a complex interplay of variables influencing player and team performance, with communication being one of them. This article focuses on examining the relationship between communication and coaching in handball during the period 2013-2023. The objective of this systematic review is to unveil the current state of research in this field. Twelve studies were thoroughly reviewed, addressing communication, performance, and coaching in the context of handball through a systematic review following PRISMA guidelines, gathering evidence from an extensive literature search in the Web of Science, covering articles published between 2013 and 2023. The results highlight a growing interest in coach-player communication, particularly aimed at enhancing player performance. The literature underscores the importance of effective communication in training and performance but identifies a lack of a comprehensive approach to communication as a critical variable. Despite ample evidence of its significance, the exploration of communication in the context of handball is still in its early stages compared to other sports. It is concluded that there is a rising interest in the relationship between coach communication and player performance in handball, but a more comprehensive approach is needed. Coaches can use this information to enhance training and performance

Effect of changing vegetation and precipitation on denudation – Part 2: Predicted landscape response to transient climate and vegetation cover over millennial to million-year timescales
We present a numerical modeling investigation into the
interactions between transient climate and vegetation cover with hillslope
and detachment limited fluvial processes. Model simulations were designed to
investigate topographic patterns and behavior resulting from changing climate
and the associated changes in surface vegetation cover. The Landlab surface
process model was modified to evaluate the effects of temporal variations in
vegetation cover on hillslope diffusion and fluvial erosion. A suite of
simulations were conducted to represent present-day climatic conditions and
satellite derived vegetation cover at four different research areas in the
Chilean Coastal Cordillera. These simulations included steady-state
simulations as well as transient simulations with forcings in either climate
or vegetation cover over millennial to million-year timescales. Two different
transient variations in climate and
vegetation cover including a step change in climate or vegetation were used, as well as
100 kyr oscillations over 5 Myr. We conducted eight different step-change
simulations for positive and negative perturbations in either vegetation
cover or climate and six simulations with oscillating transient forcings for
either vegetation cover, climate, or oscillations in both vegetation cover
and climate. Results indicate that the coupled influence of surface
vegetation cover and mean annual precipitation shifts basin landforms towards
a new steady state, with the magnitude of the change being highly sensitive to the
initial vegetation and climate conditions of the basin. Dry, non-vegetated
basins show higher magnitudes of adjustment than basins that are situated in
wetter conditions with higher vegetation cover. For coupled conditions when
surface vegetation cover and mean annual precipitation change simultaneously,
the landscape response tends to be weaker. When vegetation cover and mean
annual precipitation change independently from one another, higher magnitude
shifts in topographic metrics are predicted. Changes in vegetation cover show
a higher impact on topography for low initial surface cover values; however,
for areas with high initial surface cover, the effect of changes in
precipitation dominate the formation of landscapes. This study demonstrates
the sensitivity of catchment characteristics to different transient forcings in
vegetation cover and mean annual precipitation, with
initial vegetation and climate conditions playing a crucial role.</p
THE LICHEN THELIDIUM-LITORALE ON SHELLS OF INTERTIDAL LIMPETS - A CASE OF LICHEN-MEDIATED CRYPTIC MIMICRY
On the intertidal rocky shores of central Chile, the lichen Thelidium litorale (Ascomycete: Verrucariacea) is commonly found encrusting shells of gastropods such as Scurria araucana, S. ceciliana and S. boehmita, and plates of the intertidal barnacles Jehlius cirratus and Chthamalus scabrosus. This study focuses on the relationship between T. litorale and shells of the limpet S. boehmita. In the field, this host shows the highest percentage of lichen prevalence among several intertidal species. Although T. litorale is able to penetrate the limpet shell layers lying above the myostracum (m), the observed penetration levels appear related to the width of the shell layers. Among the 3 species of limpets, S. boehmita exhibits the thinnest m+2 layer and this could facilitate lichen penetration. As a result of the association, the limpet develops an external shell pattern remarkably resembling the shape of the aperture of the intertidal barnacles J. cirratus and C. scabrosus. This lichen-mediated mimicry can be explained by lichen-induced erosion, which leads to the disclosure of the internal and otherwise unexposed shell design of S. boehmita. The possible role of T. litorale as a biological modifier of external limpet shell pattern is discussed
Seis semanas de entrenamiento integrado de habilidades motrices y toma de decisiones desarrollan las competencias motrices especificas del minibalonmano
© 2019 Didactic Asociation Andalucia. All rights reserved. The aim of this study was to describe the effects of the execution of an integrated training method focused in the development of specific minihandball's motor skills and decision-making processes for children. 32 children (17 boys and 15 girls) aged between 10 and 11 years old, all of them participants on a recreational mini-handball class, where submitted in a 4 phases training method planed and proposed in a previous study. Outcomes of minihandball´s motor skills development were statistically analyzed using Repeated measures ANOVA with corrected Bonferroni post-hoc analysis. Significant improvements in mean values of successful actions (SA) where shown from phase 1 to phase 4 (<0.005). In phase 1 and 2, a detriment on specific mini-handball's motor skills where observed but only as part of the process not as a definitive result. Although physiological factors where not took in consideration, other factors belonging to neuroscience did explained the obtained phenomenon. 6 weeks of a mini-handball integrated training method, performed by 2 sessions per week, seems to be an effective tool to develop positively the acquisition of specific mini-handball's motor skills and to improve technical-tactical situation of decision-making processes.ANIDANID FONDECYTFONDAPFONDA
Dynamometric tests and functional performance in teens with moderated intellectual disabilities
© 2019 Didactic Asociation Andalucia. All rights reserved. The aim of this study has been to determine the relationship between dynamometric tests and the functional capacity associated with physical condition in adolescents with moderate intellectual disability. The sample consisted of 44 schoolchildren (16.39 ± 4.5 years) of male and female gender, 25 men and 19 women belonging to 2 special schools in the Metropolitan region, Santiago, Chile. The maximum isometric strength was measured through manual grip dynamometers and trunk extender. Functional capacity was estimated through field tests, such as: the jump against movement, agility test of 4 × 10 m, time up and go and 5 repetition sit to stand test. For the statistical analysis, the Pearson correlation coefficient test was used to establish relationships between the aforementioned variables. Significant relationships (p≤0.05) were obtained between the dynamic tests of manual and trunk extensor pressure with the functional tests previously for all the samples and differentiated by gender. Manual pressure dynamometer tests and trunk extenders can be used as tools to estimate the functional capacity associated with motor patterns and the maximum isometric strength. The strength and its different manifestations must be considered as priority components, in the elaboration and prescription of exercise programs for the maintenance of the functional independence of adolescents with moderate intellectual disability.Agencia Nacional de Investigacion y Desarrollo, in Chil
