Non-reciprocal few-photon devices based on chiral waveguide-emitter couplings

We demonstrate the possibility of designing efficient, non reciprocal few-photon devices by exploiting the chiral coupling between two waveguide modes and a single quantum emitter. We show how this system can induce non-reciprocal photon transport at the single-photon level and act as an optical diode. Afterwards, we also show how the same system shows a transistor-like behaviour for a two-photon input. The efficiency in both cases is shown to be large for feasible experimental implementations. A chiral route to spontaneous entanglement generation

We study the generation of spontaneous entanglement between two qubits chirally coupled to a waveguide. The maximum achievable concurrence is demonstrated to increase by a factor of $4/e \sim 1.5$ as compared to the non-chiral coupling situation. The proposed entanglement scheme is shown to be robust against variation of the qubit properties such as detuning and separation, which are critical in the non-chiral case. This result relaxes the restrictive requirements of the non-chiral situation, paving the way towards a realistic implementation. Generation, manipulation, and detection of two-qubit entanglement in waveguide QED

We study the possibility of using guided photons to generate, control, and measure the entanglement of two qubits that is mediated by a one-dimensional waveguide. We show how entanglement can be generated both with single photon and with two-photon wavepackets. The introduction of a second photon allows for a manipulation of the entanglement between the qubits, and phenomena such as sudden death and revival of entanglement appear. Finally, we propose a procedure for entanglement detection via the scattering output of a single-photon over a qubit state.Comment: 10 pages, 6 figure

El Mercado Laboral Urbano: Empleo, Desempleo y Salario Real en Colombia entre 1985 y 1996

Se estimó un modelo neo-clásico del mercado laboral, con respuestas lentas o ajustes parciales, para el caso de la evolución del empleo, el desempleo transitorio (definido como la diferencia entre el desempleo total y el permanente) y el salario real en el conjunto de las siete principales ciudades colombianas entre 1985 y 1996. Los resultados son consistentes con el modelo supuesto y, en particular, muestran que el empleo es sensible al salario real y al desempleo transitorio, y recíprocamente. Además, tanto el empleo como el desempleo transitorio y el salario real dependen simultáneamente de las tres variables exógenas incorporadas en el modelo: el producto, el costo de uso del capital y la población en edad de trabajar. En equilibrio, al cual tiende el mercado según el modelo, el desempleo transitorio es nulo, así que la tasa desempleo se hace igual a la permanente.

Towards a generic prognostic function of technical multi-component systems taking into account the uncertainties of the predictions of their components

This article presents the first elements of a generic function that assesses the capacity of technical multi-component systems to accomplish the assigned productive tasks from production planning. This assessment is based on the prognostics of their components. It must so be able to process inaccuracies and uncertainties of these prognostics. For its implementation the aimed function combines the Dempster-Shafer theory combined and Bayesian inferences. The paper presents the multi-component system modeling and the inferences for the different identified structures as well as a general algorithm. The final aim of the proposed generic function is to compute decision supports for cooperative maintenance and production management

En la presente investigación se elaboró un Diagnóstico estratégico de la empresa Restaurante La Pradera del Municipio de Matagalpa, periodo 2014, para conocer la situación estratégica actual, por la que atraviesa la empresa e identificar las diferentes estrategias que aplica la empresa para mantener su participación en el mercado y así también identificar las debilidades y puntos de mejora. Se identificó que la empresa Restaurante La Pradera aplica estrategias en sus funciones y procesos así como estrategias genéricas y competitivas, también posee ventaja competitiva como son conocimiento del negocio, calidad de sus productos y servicio, precios favorables, ubicación del negocio, la cual diferencia al restaurante y los colocan como líderes en el mercado esto sumado a la experiencia obtenida en todos estos años de trayectoria y aceptación por parte de sus clientes que cada día son más debido a la calidad del servicio que ofertan. La situación actual estratégica de la empresa es estable, dado que se ha expandido y crecido como negocio en el mercado en sus 32 años al servicio de la población.
