Enhancing the heavy Higgs signal with jet-jet profile cuts
The jet-jet profile, or detailed manner, in which transverse energy and mass
are distributed around the jet-jet system resulting from the hadronic decay of
a boson in the process Higgs at a proton-proton collider energy of
40\tev is carefully examined. Two observables are defined that can be used to
help distinguish the -jet-jet signal from Higgs decay from the
``ordinary'' QCD background arising from the large transverse momentum
production of single bosons plus the associated jets. By making cuts on
these observables, signal to background enhancement factors greater than

A GLOBAL QCD STUDY OF DIRECT PHOTON PRODUCTION
A global QCD analysis of the direct photon production process from both fixed
target and collider experiments is presented. These data sets now completely
cover the parton range from 0.01 to 0.6, thereby providing a stringent test
of perturbative QCD and parton distributions. Previous detailed studies of
direct photons emphasized fixed target data. We find most data sets have a
steeper distribution than the QCD prediction. Neither global fits with
new parton distributions nor improved photon fragmentation functions can
resolve this problem since the deviation occurs at different values for
experiments at different energies. A more likely explanation is the need for
additional broadening of the of the initial state partons. The magnitude
and the possible physical origin of this effect are investigated and discussed.Comment: 8 page Latex file using epsf.sty for figures. 6 eps figures submitted

Global QCD Analysis and the CTEQ Parton Distributions
The CTEQ program for the determination of parton distributions through a
global QCD analysis of data for various hard scattering processes is fully
described. A new set of distributions, CTEQ3, incorporating several new types
of data is reported and compared to the two previous sets of CTEQ
distributions. Comparison with current data is discussed in some detail. The
remaining uncertainties in the parton distributions and methods to further
reduce them are assessed. Comparisons with the results of other global analyses

Status of the LUX Dark Matter Search
The Large Underground Xenon (LUX) dark matter search experiment is currently
being deployed at the Homestake Laboratory in South Dakota. We will highlight
the main elements of design which make the experiment a very strong competitor
in the field of direct detection, as well as an easily scalable concept. We
will also present its potential reach for supersymmetric dark matter detection,

Measurement of the lifetime of the B_c meson in the semileptonic decay channel
Using approximately 1.3 fb-1 of data collected by the D0 detector between
2002 and 2006, we measure the lifetime of the B_c meson in the B_c -> J/psi mu
nu X final state. A simultaneous unbinned likelihood fit to the J/\psi+mu
invariant mass and lifetime distributions yields a signal of 881 +/- 80 (stat)
candidates and a lifetime measurement of \tau(B_c) = 0.448 +0.038 -0.036 (stat)

Observation of ZZ production in ppbar collisions at sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV
We present an observation for ZZ -> l+l-l'+l'- (l, l' = e or mu) production
in ppbar collisions at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV. Using 1.7
fb-1 of data collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider,
we observe three candidate events with an expected background of 0.14 +0.03
-0.02 events. The significance of this observation is 5.3 standard deviations.
The combination of D0 results in this channel, as well as in ZZ -> l+l-nunubar,
yields a significance of 5.7 standard deviations and a combined cross section
of sigma(ZZ) = 1.60 +/- 0.63 (stat.) +0.16 -0.17 (syst.) pb.Comment: 7 pages, 1 figure, 2 tables Modified slightly following review

A search for the standard model Higgs boson in the missing energy and acoplanar b-jet topology at sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV
We report a search for the standard model Higgs boson in the missing energy
and acoplanar b-jet topology, using an integrated luminosity of 0.93 inverse
femtobarn recorded by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The
analysis includes signal contributions from pp->ZH->nu nu b b, as well as from
WH production in which the charged lepton from the W boson decay is undetected.
Neural networks are used to separate signal from background. In the absence of
a signal, we set limits on the cross section of pp->VH times the branching
ratio of H->bb at the 95% C.L. of 2.6 - 2.3 pb, for Higgs boson masses in the
range 105 - 135 GeV, where V=W,Z. The corresponding expected limits range from
2.8 pb - 2.0 pb.Comment: Submitted to Phys. Rev. Letter
Search for a Narrow ttbar Resonance in ppbar Collisions at sqrt{s}=1.96 TeV
We report a search for a narrow ttbar resonance that decays into a
lepton+jets final state based on an integrated luminosity of 5.3/fb of
proton-antiproton collisions at sqrt{s}=1.96 TeV collected by the D0
Collaboration at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. We set upper limits on the
production cross section of such a resonance multiplied by its branching
fraction to ttbar which we compare to predictions for a leptophobic topcolor Z'
boson. We exclude such a resonance at the 95% confidence level for masses below

Search for associated Higgs boson production using like charge dilepton events in p(p)over-bar collisions at root s=1.96 TeV
We present a search for associated Higgs boson production in the process p (p) over bar -> W/ZH -> l(+/-)l'(+/-) + X in ee, e mu, and mu mu final states. The search is based on data collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider at root s = 1.96 TeV corresponding to 5.3 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity. We require two isolated leptons (electrons or muons) with the same electric charge and additional kinematic requirements. No significant excess above background is observed, and we set 95% C. L. observed (expected) upper limits on ratio of the production cross section to the standard model prediction of 6.4 (7.3) for a Higgs boson mass of 165 GeV and 13.5 (19.8) for a mass of 115 GeV
