On higher congruences between cusp forms and Eisenstein series
In this paper we present several finite families of congruences between cusp
forms and Eisenstein series of higher weights at powers of prime ideals. We
formulate a conjecture which describes properties of the prime ideals and their
relation to the weights. We check the validity of the conjecture on several

A combined first and second order variational approach for image reconstruction
In this paper we study a variational problem in the space of functions of
bounded Hessian. Our model constitutes a straightforward higher-order extension
of the well known ROF functional (total variation minimisation) to which we add
a non-smooth second order regulariser. It combines convex functions of the
total variation and the total variation of the first derivatives. In what
follows, we prove existence and uniqueness of minimisers of the combined model
and present the numerical solution of the corresponding discretised problem by
employing the split Bregman method. The paper is furnished with applications of
our model to image denoising, deblurring as well as image inpainting. The
obtained numerical results are compared with results obtained from total
generalised variation (TGV), infimal convolution and Euler's elastica, three
other state of the art higher-order models. The numerical discussion confirms
that the proposed higher-order model competes with models of its kind in
avoiding the creation of undesirable artifacts and blocky-like structures in
the reconstructed images -- a known disadvantage of the ROF model -- while
being simple and efficiently numerically solvable.Comment: 34 pages, 89 figure
Magnetic-Field-Driven Superconductor-Insulator-Type Transition in Graphite
A magnetic-field-driven transition from metallic- to semiconducting-type
behavior in the basal-plane resistance takes place in highly oriented pyrolytic
graphite at a field kOe applied along the hexagonal c-axis. The
analysis of the data reveals a striking similarity between this transition and
that measured in thin-film superconductors and Si MOSFET's. However, in
contrast to those materials, the transition in graphite is observable at almost
two orders of magnitude higher temperatures.Comment: 4 Figure

Abstract. Finding optimal data for inpainting is a key problem in the context of partial differential equation-based image compression. We present a new model for optimising the data used for the reconstruction by the underlying homogeneous diffusion process. Our approach is based on an optimal control framework with a strictly convex cost functional containing an L1 term to enforce sparsity of the data and non-convex constraints. We propose a numerical approach that solves a series of convex optimisation problems with linear constraints. Our numerical examples show that it outperforms existing methods with respect to quality and computation time
LHC and lepton flavour violation phenomenology of a left-right extension of the MSSM
We study the phenomenology of a supersymmetric left-right model, assuming
minimal supergravity boundary conditions. Both left-right and (B-L) symmetries
are broken at an energy scale close to, but significantly below the GUT scale.
Neutrino data is explained via a seesaw mechanism. We calculate the RGEs for
superpotential and soft parameters complete at 2-loop order. At low energies
lepton flavour violation (LFV) and small, but potentially measurable mass
splittings in the charged scalar lepton sector appear, due to the RGE running.
Different from the supersymmetric 'pure seesaw' models, both, LFV and slepton
mass splittings, occur not only in the left- but also in the right slepton
sector. Especially, ratios of LFV slepton decays, such as Br()/Br() are sensitive to the
ratio of (B-L) and left-right symmetry breaking scales. Also the model predicts
a polarization asymmetry of the outgoing positrons in the decay , A ~ [0,1], which differs from the pure seesaw 'prediction' A=1$.
Observation of any of these signals allows to distinguish this model from any
of the three standard, pure (mSugra) seesaw setups.Comment: 43 pages, 17 figure
Artemisia fragransWilld. Essential Oil: Chemical Profile and Insecticidal Potential against the Confused Flour Beetle, Tribolium confusum du Val.
The confused flour beetle, Tribolium confusum du Val, is one of the cosmopolitan and polyphagous storage insect pests. The frequent application of chemical insecticides has resulted in several side effects, including threats to human health and non-target organisms and the resistance of insect pests. In the current study, the fumigant toxicity and feeding deterrence potential of Artemisia fragrans Willd. essential oil on T. confusum adults were investigated. The essential oil was rich in
terpenic compounds, in which α-thujone (27.8%) and 1,8-cineole (22.8%) were dominant. The essential oil displayed significant fumigant toxicity on T. confusum, where a concentration of 35.3 μL/L caused 100% mortality of the treated adults after 48 h. The LC30 and LC40 values (lethal concentrations to kill 30% and 40% of tested insects: 15.1 and 18.4 μL/L, respectively) significantly decreased the nutritional indices of the pest, including the consumption index, relative consumption rate, and
relative growth rate. The feeding deterrence index of the essential oil were calculated as being 62.29 and 48.66% for the concentrations of 15.1 and 18.4 μL/L after 5 days, respectively. Accordingly, A. fragrans essential oil can be considered an efficient, available, and natural alternative to detrimental chemical pesticides in the management of T. confusum
When Anomaly Mediation is UV Sensitive
Despite its successes---such as solving the supersymmetric flavor
problem---anomaly mediated supersymmetry breaking is untenable because of its
prediction of tachyonic sleptons. An appealing solution to this problem was
proposed by Pomarol and Rattazzi where a threshold controlled by a light field
deflects the anomaly mediated supersymmetry breaking trajectory, thus evading
tachyonic sleptons. In this paper we examine an alternate class of deflection
models where the non-supersymmetric threshold is accompanied by a heavy,
instead of light, singlet. The low energy form of this model is the so-called
extended anomaly mediation proposed by Nelson and Weiner, but with potential
for a much higher deflection threshold. The existence of this high deflection
threshold implies that the space of anomaly mediated supersymmetry breaking

Excessive use of pesticides causing pollution and environmental damage agriculture. Examination in Brebes on 31 samples of fruits and vegetables, found 22% of samples contain detectable residues of organophosphate and found two soil samples (10%) contained residues organochlorin. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of the use and handling of pesticides on their onion farmers against pesticide residues in the soil on agricultural land Wanasari Village, District Wanasari, Brebes. This study is observational method with cross sectional approach. The population in this study were all farmers in the Wanasari conducting spraying. Collecting data using the tool Banu questionnaire and examination of pesticide residues in soil using GC-MS Gas Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry. The results of this study are of 55 69.1 onion farmers use pesticides are not good. The use of pesticides covering 80% is not good in mixing pesticides, 87.3% use a smaller dose, 49.1% use pesticides that are not registered with the Ministry of Agriculture, 87.3% is not good in the way of spraying and 87.3 does well in frequency spraying. Handling pesticides in agricultural land is not good 59.1%, ie 74.5% is not good in handling pesticide containers, 90.9% is not good in storage of pesticides, 89.1% is not good in handling a spill and 87.3% did not either in place to clean pesticide containers.
