    τρππν\tau\to\rho\pi\pi\nu decays

Effective chiral theory of mesons is applied to study the four decay modes of τρππν\tau\to\rho\pi\pi\nu. Theoretical values of the branching ratios are in agreement with the data. The theory predicts that the a1a_{1} resonance plays a dominant role in these decays. There is no new parameter in this study.Comment: 12 pages and one figur

Particle Spectrum of the Supersymmetric Standard Model from the Massless Excitations of a Four Dimensional Superstring

    Get PDF
A superstring action is quantised with Neveu Schwarz(NS) and Ramond(R) boundary conditions. The zero mass states of the NS sector are classified as the vector gluons, W-mesons, BμB_{\mu}-mesons and scalars containing Higgs. The fifteen zero mass fermions are obtained from the Ramond sector. A space time supersymmetric Hamiltonian of the Standard Model is presented without any conventional SUSY particles

Nonperturbative signatures in pair production for general elliptic polarization fields

The momentum signatures in nonperturbative multiphoton pair production for general elliptic polarization electric fields are investigated by employing the real-time Dirac-Heisenberg-Wigner formalism. For a linearly polarized electric field we find that the positions of the nodes in momenta spectra of created pairs depend only on the electric field frequency. The polarization of external fields could not only change the node structures or even make the nodes disappear but also change the thresholds of pair production. The momentum signatures associated to the node positions in which the even-number-photon pair creation process is forbid could be used to distinguish the orbital angular momentum of created pairs on the momenta spectra. These distinguishable momentum signatures could be relevant for providing the output information of created particles and also the input information of ultrashort laser pulses.Comment: 8 pages, 4 figures, submitted to Europhysics Letter

Mode-locking of incommensurate phase by quantum zero point energy in the Frenkel-Kontorova model

    Get PDF
In this paper, it is shown that a configuration modulated system described by the Frenkel-Kontorova model can be locked at an incommensurate phase when the quantum zero point energy is taken into account. It is also found that the specific heat for an incommensurate phase shows different parameter-dependence in sliding phase and pinning phase. These findings provide a possible way for experimentalists to verify the phase transition by breaking of analyticity.Comment: 6 pages in Europhys style, 3 eps figure

Universal statistics of wave functions in chaotic and disordered systems

We study a new statistics of wave functions in several chaotic and disordered systems: the random matrix model, band random matrix model, the Lipkin model, chaotic quantum billiard and the 1D tight-binding model. Both numerical and analytical results show that the distribution function of a generalized Riccati variable, defined as the ratio of components of eigenfunctions on basis states coupled by perturbation, is universal, and has the form of Lorentzian distribution.Comment: 6 Europhys pages, 2 Ps figures, new version to appear in Europhys.
