    A Factory-based Approach to Support E-commerce Agent Fabrication

How to create agents for e-commerce applications has become an important issue along the way to success. We propose a factory-based approach to support agent fabrication in e-commerce and elaborate a design based on the SAFER (Secure Agent Fabrication, Evolution & Roaming) framework. The details of agent fabrication, modular agent structure, agent life cycle, as well as advantages of agent fabrication are presented.     DTN Routing Algorithm Based on Perceptions of Node Mobile Information

    Due to the high mobility of nodes in DTN, the topology is changing forever. On this base, putting forward an efficient routing protocol becomes a hot topic in this area. Focus on the moving character of nodes, putting forward a routing algorithm in DTN (BMI) based on perceptions of node mobile information. This algorithm improved from the classical routing protocol spray and wait. First, change the wait phase to active routing. Then consider the moving information of meeting nodes and purpose nodes, choose a node which has a higher possibility to meet the purpose node.     MESH : a flexible manifold-embedded semantic hashing for cross-modal retrieval

    Hashing based methods for cross-modal retrieval has been widely explored in recent years. However, most of them mainly focus on the preservation of neighborhood relationship and label consistency, while ignore the proximity of neighbors and proximity of classes, which degrades the discrimination of hash codes. And most of them learn hash codes and hashing functions simultaneously, which limits the flexibility of algorithms. To address these issues, in this article, we propose a two-step cross-modal retrieval method named Manifold-Embedded Semantic Hashing (MESH). It exploits Local Linear Embedding to model the neighborhood proximity and uses class semantic embeddings to consider the proximity of classes. By so doing, MESH can not only extract the manifold structure in different modalities, but also can embed the class semantic information into hash codes to further improve the discrimination of learned hash codes. Moreover, the two-step scheme makes MESH flexible to various hashing functions. Extensive experimental results on three datasets show that MESH is superior to 10 state-of-the-art cross-modal hashing methods. Moreover, MESH also demonstrates superiority on deep features compared with the deep cross-modal hashing method. © 2013 IEEE

    Vein Texture Extraction Using the Multiscale Second-Order Differential Model

    In order to analyze the back of hand vein pattern rapidly and effectively, a novel approach based on multi-scale second-order differential model is proposed to extract the vein texture from vein samples directly, which is made up of two section: one is the foundation of local second-order differential model of vein texture(VLSDM), the other is texture extraction based on the multi-scale VLSDM. This paper analyzes the vein extraction using the multi-scale VLSDM and handles the filter response using the method of multi-scale analyzed noise filtered. This new algorithm has achieved good results for the vein texture, which is fuzzy, uneven distributed and cross-adhesion. Additionally this method keeps the original form of local shape and achieves orientation and scale information of the vein texture.     Heat Pump-Based Novel Energy System for High-Power LED Lamp Cooling and Waste Heat Recovery

    Unlike incandescent light bulb, which radiates heat into the surroundings by infrared rays, light emitting diode (LED) traps heat inside the lamp. This fact increases the difficulty of cooling LED lamps, while it facilitates the recovery of the generated heat. We propose a novel energy system that merges high-power LED lamp cooling with the heat pump use; the heat pump can cool the LED lamp and at the same time recover the waste heat. In this way, a high percentage of the energy consumed by the LED lamp can be utilized. In this work, we developed a prototype of this energy system and conducted a series of experimental studies to determine the effect of several parameters, such as cooling water flow rate and LED power, on the LED leadframe temperature, compressor power consumption, and system performance. The experimental results clearly indicate that the energy system can lead to substantial energy savings
