    Monte Carlo study of the spin-glass phase of the site-diluted dipolar Ising model

    By tempered Monte Carlo simulations, we study site-diluted Ising systems of magnetic dipoles. All dipoles are randomly placed on a fraction x of all L^3 sites of a simple cubic lattice, and point along a given crystalline axis. For x_c< x<=1, where x_c = 0.65, we find an antiferromagnetic phase below a temperature which vanishes as x tends to x_c from above. At lower values of x, we find an equilibrium spin-glass (SG) phase below a temperature given by k_B T_{sg} = x e_d, where e_d is a nearest neighbor dipole-dipole interaction energy. We study (a) the relative mean square deviation D_q^2 of |q|, where q is the SG overlap parameter, and (b) xi_L/L, where xi_L is a correlation length. From their variation with temperature and system size, we determine T_{sg}. In the SG phase, we find (i) the mean values and decrease algebraically with L as L increases, (ii) double peaked, but wide, distributions of q/ appear to be independent of L, and (iii) xi_L/L rises with L at constant T, but extrapolations to 1/L -> 0 give finite values.     Visual Localisation of Mobile Devices in an Indoor Environment under Network Delay Conditions

    Current progresses in home automation and service robotic environment have highlighted the need to develop interoperability mechanisms that allow a standard communication between the two systems. During the development of the DHCompliant protocol, the problem of locating mobile devices in an indoor environment has been investigated. The communication of the device with the location service has been carried out to study the time delay that web services offer in front of the sockets. The importance of obtaining data from real-time location systems portends that a basic tool for interoperability, such as web services, can be ineffective in this scenario because of the delays added in the invocation of services. This paper is focused on introducing a web service to resolve a coordinates request without any significant delay in comparison with the sockets

    En este artículo se realiza un recorrido a la concepción del hombre como ser carencial, una idea presente en la tradición filosófica desde Platón pero que tuvo un importante repunte entre los siglos XIX y XX en el contexto del surgimiento en Alemania de la antropología filosófica. En primer lugar, expondremos la apropiación de esta concepción del ser humano como ser deficitario en Ortega y Gehlen, para pasar, en segundo lugar, a su crítica por parte de Sloterdijk. Acabaremos con una propuesta en la que se armonizan estas reflexiones con los últimos datos aportados por la ciencia paleoantropológica.In this paper we carry out a review to the notion of man as a deficient being, an idea that can be located back in Plato, but one that had an important upsurge in the 19th and 20th centuries in the context of the emergency in Germany of the Philosophical Anthropology. In the first place, we will expose the interpretation of this notion by Ortega and Gehlen, to then turn, in the second place, to Sloterdijk´s critique of this idea. We will finish with a proposal that harmonizes this reflections with the last data provided by paleoanthropology

Al caer el sol, it is a reflective videogame that seeks immersion and criticism of the public to provide a new experience that goes beyond entertaining. The game is categorized within the genre of platforms and adventures. The player will have to go through different platforms controlling his direction, and the different skills that he acquires as the game progresses. At the same time, you will have to develop exploration and research capabilities to be able to solve the puzzles presented in the game.
