Onthology of space and time in Aimless Walk
Replikace hlavního hrdiny prostřednictvím střihu je skvělým příkladem toho, že jakmile je obraz rozpohybován, pouhé rozeznávání totožnosti modelu z žitého světa a portrétu (de facto prostoru reprezentace) nestačí k tomu, aby bylo možné jej považovat za věrohodnou "výpověď"...This work examines a movie Aimless Walk from Alexander Hackenschmied, wich is specific for moments, where photographic picture is becoming a film one and vice versa. Purpose of this work is to reveal, what impact has this intermediate relationship on depicting reality on the level of the space in movie. Through neoformalistic analysis it is shown, how much can an medially transformed object be perceived either in an illusive or realistic kind of way. Analysis is carried out on four different levels: on the level of usage of the camera, usage of the film montage and usage of space and time. Photographic image detained in duration, opposing the time of the world and credible in its own representation of reality, is in context of film dispositive determined as an realistic element. Credibility of photographic image can be open to doubt thanks to possibilities of film montage and camera, that take in account also timeliness of reality, and due to that, can the author create new more or less illusive elements in his artwork. Replication of the main character trough montage is great example of the fact that for moving image simple recognizing the identity of the model of the world and his portrait (de facto his space of representation) is not enough to be considered as trustworthy evidence of the...Katedra filmových studiíFilm Studies DepartmentFaculty of ArtsFilozofická fakult
(2E)-1-(4-Aminophenyl)-3-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)prop-2-en-1-one
The title compound, C15H11Cl2NO, is approximately planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.062 Å) and contains a single C=C double bond in a trans (E) configuration. The crystal packing is stabilized by intermolecular N—H⋯N and N—H⋯O intermolecular hydrogen bonding
Focal Adhesion Kinase Splice Variants Maintain Primitive Acute Myeloid Leukemia Cells Through Altered Wnt Signaling
Author response
Despite the critical role of endothelial Wnt/β-catenin signaling during central nervous system (CNS) vascularization, how endothelial cells sense and respond to specific Wnt ligands and what aspects of the multistep process of intra-cerebral blood vessel morphogenesis are controlled by these angiogenic signals remain poorly understood. We addressed these questions at single-cell resolution in zebrafish embryos. We identify the GPI-anchored MMP inhibitor Reck and the adhesion GPCR Gpr124 as integral components of a Wnt7a/Wnt7b-specific signaling complex required for brain angiogenesis and dorsal root ganglia neurogenesis. We further show that this atypical Wnt/ β-catenin signaling pathway selectively controls endothelial tip cell function and hence, that mosaic restoration of single wild-type tip cells in Wnt/β-catenin-deficient perineural vessels is sufficient to initiate the formation of CNS vessels. Our results identify molecular determinants of ligand specificity of Wnt/β-catenin signaling and provide evidence for organ-specific control of vascular invasion through tight modulation of tip cell function.SCOPUS: ar.jinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishe
Interaction between Hydrofluorosilicic Acid and 1,10-Phenanthroline: Hydrolytic Stability of Chelate Complexes of Silicon Tetrafluoride with Bidentate N-Donors
Hexafluorosilicate (LH2)SiF6 and the cis-[SiF4(L)] chelate complex characterized by 19F NMR are products of reaction between hydrofluorosilicic acid and 1,10-phenanthroline (L). XRD findings show that the structure of (LH2)SiF6 is stabilized by NH⋅⋅⋅F hydrogen bonds (N⋅⋅⋅F 2.618(4), 2.676(4) Å) and CH⋅⋅⋅F contacts. The relative resistance of the cis-[SiF4(L)] complex to hydrolysis is associated with the chelate effect

Modified Snake α-Cobratoxin Relieves Memory Deficit of Alzheimer's Mice and competes with Amyloid β binding for Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptors
NMR structure of the water soluble Aβ17–34 peptide
Alzheimer's disease is the most common neurodegenerative disorder in the world. Its most significant symptoms are memory loss and decrease in cognition. Alzheimer's disease is characterized by aggregation of two proteins in the brain namely Aβ (amyloid β) and tau. Recent evidence suggests that the interaction of soluble Aβ with nAChR (nicotinic acetylcholine receptors) contributes to disease progression. In this study, we determine the NMR structure of an Aβ17–34 peptide solubilized by the addition of two glutamic acids at each terminus. Our results indicate that the Aβ peptide adopts an α-helical structure for residues 19–26 and 28–33. The α-helical structure is broken around residues S26, N27 and K28, which form a kink in the helical conformation. This α-helix was not described earlier in an aqueous solution without organic solvents, and at physiological conditions (pH 7). These data are in agreement with Aβ adopting an α-helical conformation in the membrane before polymerizing into amyloid β-sheets and provide insight into the intermediate state of Aβ in Alzheimer's disease
