Analyst behaviour: the geography of social interaction
An analyst who works in Germany is more likely to publish a high (low) price target regarding a DAX30 stock if other Germany based analysts are also optimistic (pessimistic) about the same stock. This finding is not biased by the fact that DAX30 companies are headquartered in Germany. In times of bull markets, price targets of analysts who regularly exchange their opinion are higher correlated compared to other analysts. This effect vanishes in a bearish market environment. This suggests that communication among analysts indeed plays an important role. However, analysts’ incentives induce them not to deviate too much from the overall average during an economic downturn
Universal localisations and tilting modules for finite dimensional algebras
We study universal localisations, in the sense of Cohn and Schofield, for
finite dimensional algebras and classify them by certain subcategories of our
initial module category. A complete classification is presented in the
hereditary case as well as for Nakayama algebras and local algebras.
Furthermore, for hereditary algebras, we establish a correspondence between
finite dimensional universal localisations and finitely generated support
tilting modules. In the Nakayama case, we get a similar result using
-tilting modules, which were recently introduced by Adachi, Iyama and
Reiten
From contract to treaty: the legal transformation of the Spanish succession (1659-1713)
The problem of the Spanish Succession kept the European diplomatic system in suspense from 1659 until 1713. Statesmen and diplomats tackled the question. Their practical vision of the law is a necessary complement to legal doctrine. Louis XIV and Emperor Leopold I used incompatible and absolute claims, which started in private law and Spanish succession law. At the Peace of Utrecht, these arguments completely dissolved. The War of The Spanish Succession thus not only redesigned the political map of Europe. It altered the norm hierarchy in public law, strengthening international law as the framework of the “Société des Princes”

Ongoing magnetic monopole searches with IceCube
The IceCube collaboration has instrumented a cubic kilometer of ice with
photo-multipliers. While mainly developed to detect Cherenkov light, any
visible light can be used to detect particles within the ice. Magnetic
monopoles are hypothetical particles predicted by many theories that extend the
Standard model of Particle Physics. They are carriers of a single elementary
magnetic charge. For this particle, different light production mechanisms
dominate from direct Cherenkov light at highly relativistic velocities
, indirect Cherenkov light at mildly relativistic
velocities , luminescence
light at low relativistic velocities , as well as catalysis of proton decay at non relativistic
velocities . For each of this speed ranges,
searches for magnetic monopoles at the IceCube experiment are either in
progress or they have already set the world's best limits on the flux of
magnetic monopoles. A summary of these searches will be presented, outlining
already existing results as well as methods used by the currently conducted
searches.Comment: Conference proceedings from 6th International Conference on New
