Characterization of symmetry-protected topological phases in polymerized models by trajectories of Majorana stars

By using Majorana's stellar representation, we give a clear geometrical interpretation of the topological phases of inversion-symmetric polymerized models by mapping the Bloch states of multi-band systems to Majorana stars on the Bloch sphere. While trajectories of Majorana stars of a filled Bloch band exhibit quite different geometrical structures for topologically trivial and nontrivial phases, we further demonstrate that these structures are uniquely determined by distributions of Majorana stars of two high-symmetrical momentum states, which have different parities for topologically different states.Comment: 6 pages, 6 figure

Effect of applied DC voltages and temperatures on space charge behaviour of multi-layer oil-paper insulation

    No full text
In this paper, space charge in a multi-layer oil-paper insulation system was investigated using the pulsed electroacoustic (PEA) technique. A series of measurements had been carried following subjection of the insulation system to different applied voltages and different temperatures. Charge behaviours in the insulation system were analyzed and the influence of temperature on charge dynamics was discussed. The test results shows that homocharge injection takes place under all the test conditions, the applied DC voltage mainly affects the amount of space charge, while the temperature has greater influence on the distribution and mobility of space charge inside oil-paper samples

Terrace-like structure in the above-threshold ionization spectrum of an atom in an IR+XUV two-color laser field

Based on the frequency-domain theory, we investigate the above-threshold ionization (ATI) process of an atom in a two-color laser field with infrared (IR) and extreme ultraviolet (XUV) frequencies, where the photon energy of the XUV laser is close to or larger than the atomic ionization threshold. By using the channel analysis, we find that the two laser fields play different roles in an ionization process, where the XUV laser determines the ionization probability by the photon number that the atom absorbs from it, while the IR laser accelerates the ionized electron and hence widens the electron kinetic energy spectrum. As a result, the ATI spectrum presents a terrace-like structure. By using the saddle-point approximation, we obtain a classical formula which can predict the cutoff of each plateau in the terrace-like ATI spectrum. Furthermore, we find that the difference of the heights between two neighboring plateaus in the terrace-like structure of the ATI spectrum increases as the frequency of the XUV laser increases

    Study of the BcB_c-meson lifetime

We in terms of optical theorem estimate the lifetime of BcB_c-meson with the parameters which are deturmined by fitting the data for the lifetimes and inclusive semilepton-decays of various BB and DD mesons. In the estimate, we find that the bound-state effects are important, and take them into account carefully in the framework which attributes the effects to the effective masses of the decay heavy quarks in the inclusive processes. We also find that to BcB_c lifetime the penguin contribution is enhanced due to possible interference between the penguin and the `tree part' c1O1+c2O2c_1O_1+c_2O_2.Comment: 9 pages, 0 figures, published in Commun.
