Neutrino Exotica in the Skew E_6 Left-Right Model
With the particle content of the 27 representation of E_6, a skew left-right
supersymmetric gauge model was proposed many years ago, with a variety of
interesting phenomenological implications. The neutrino sector of this model
offers a natural framework for obtaining small Majorana masses for nu_e, nu_mu,
and nu_tau, with the added bonus of accommodating 2 light sterile neutrinos.Comment: 12 pages, no figure, conclusion clarifie
Compromising in Partition Function Form Games and Cooperation in Perfect Extensive Form
In this paper reasonable payoff intervals for players in a game in partition function form (p.f.f.game) are introduced and used to define the notion of compromisable p.f.f. game. For a compromisable p.f.f. game a compromise value is defined for which an axiomatic characterization is provided. Also a generic subclass of games in extensive form of perfect information without chance moves is introduced. For this class of perfect extensive form games there is a natural credible way to define a p.f.f. game if the players consider cooperation. It turns out that the p.f.f. games obtained in this way are compromisable.game theory
Softly Broken A_4 Symmetry for Nearly Degenerate Neutrino Masses
The leptonic Higgs doublet model of neutrino masses is implemented with an
A_4 discrete symmetry (the even permutation of 4 objects or equivalently the
symmetry of the tetrahedron) which has 4 irreducible representations: 1, 1',
1'', and 3. The resulting spontaneous and soft breaking of A_4 provides a
realistic model of charged-lepton masses as well as a nearly degenerate
neutrino mass matrix. Phenomenological consequences at and below the TeV scale
are discussed.Comment: 11 pages, no figur

Constraints on R-parity violating couplings from LEP/SLD hadronic observables
We analyze the one loop corrections to hadronic Z decays in an R-parity
violating extension to the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM).
Performing a global fit to all the hadronic observables at the Z-peak, we
obtain stringent constraints on the R-violating couplings constants lambda' and
lambda''. As a result of the strong constraints from the b asymmetry parameters
A_b and A_FB(b), we find that the couplings lambda'{i31}, lambda'{i32}, and
lambda''{321} are ruled out at the 1 sigma level, and that lambda'{i33} and
lambda''{33i} are ruled out at the 2 sigma level. We also obtain Bayesian
confidence limits for the R-violating couplings.Comment: 30 pages, 19 postscript figures, REVTeX, new section 8 on Bayesian

Super-Kamiokande data and atmospheric neutrino decay
Neutrino decay has been proposed as a possible solution to the atmospheric
neutrino anomaly, in the light of the recent data from the Super-Kamiokande
experiment. We investigate this hypothesis by means of a quantitative analysis
of the zenith angle distributions of neutrino events in Super-Kamiokande,
including the latest (45 kTy) data. We find that the neutrino decay hypothesis
fails to reproduce the observed distributions of muons.Comment: 6 pages (RevTeX) + 2 figures (Postscript
Neutrino oscillations in structured matter
A layered material structure in a monochromatic neutrino beam produces
interference effects that could be used for the measurement of features of the
neutrino mass matrix. The phenomenon would be most useful at high energies.Comment: 18 pp of which two figure
Weak and Electromagnetic Nuclear Decay Signatures for Neutrino Reactions in SuperKamiokande
We suggest the study of events in the SuperKamiokande neutrino data due to
charged- and neutral-current neutrino reactions followed by weak and/or
electromagnetic decays of struck nuclei and fragments thereof. This study could
improve the prospects of obtaining evidence for production from oscillations and could augment the data sample used to disfavor
oscillations.Comment: 7 pages, latex, to appear in Phys. Rev. Let
Analogy, Dirac-Majorana Neutrino Duality and the Neutrino Oscillations
The intent of this paper is to convey a new primary physical idea of a
Dirac-Majorana neutrino duality in relation to the topical problem of neutrino
oscillations. In view of the new atmospheric, solar and the LSND neutrino
oscillation data, the Pontecorvo oscillation analogy is generalized
to the notion of neutrino duality with substantially different physical meaning
ascribed to the long-baseline and the short-baseline neutrino oscillations. At
the level of CP-invariance, the suggestion of dual neutrino properties defines
the symmetric two-mixing-angle form of the widely discussed four-neutrino
-mixing scheme, as a result of the lepton charge conservation selection
rule and a minimum of two Dirac neutrino fields. With neutrino duality, the
two-doublet structure of the Majorana neutrino mass spectrum is a vestige of
the two-Dirac-neutrino origin. The fine neutrino mass doublet structure is
natural because it is produced by a lepton charge symmetry violating
perturbation on a zero-approximation system of two twofold mass-degenerate
Dirac neutrino-antineutrino pairs. A set of inferences related to the neutrino
oscillation phenomenology in vacuum is considered.Comment: 13 pages, LaTeX. Minor modifications, new references adde
