    No full text
This study analyzed the Rhetorical Moves and Patterns in research introductions from Applied Linguistics journals and MMSU graduate academic papers. It aimed to identify Rhetorical Moves, Steps, and Patterns, comparing similarities and differences. The findings led to a proposed framework for writing research introductions in MMSU academic papers. Using a descriptive quantitative research design and content analysis, data were gathered from research articles and MMSU academic papers. Results showed that MMSU papers should include these Steps: Making Topic Generalization, Reviewing Previous Research, Identifying Research Gaps, Stating Purposes/Objectives, and Outlining Thesis Structure. This study analyzed the Rhetorical Moves and Patterns in research introductions from Applied Linguistics Journal and MMSU graduate academic papers.
