The article is about contemporary role of Azerbaijan on the European and Asian countries’ energetic market. The author describes projects and trends connected with economic expansion among Azerbaijani companies. One of them, project of the Southern Energetic Corridor, is the most important for the European Union, because of its energy priorities. The biggest opponent of Azerbaijan is Russian Federation, which is trying to force solutions beneficial only for themselves. Azerbaijani sources of energy are hugely important for the nearest neighbors: Turkey and Georgia. In a few years Azerbaijan could become an energy tycoon and would dictate their own solutions like Russia does today

Grain-boundary shear in AA7050: an experimental investigation using digital image correlation and finite element techniques

The effects of heat treatment and hot working processes on aluminum alloy 7050 have been well-characterized under standard tensile loading, and shear deformation along grain boundaries has been shown to be a key mechanism for deformation and failure of the material. Using experimental and simulation techniques, the behavior of hot-rolled and aged aluminum alloy 7050 is investigated under direct shear loading parallel and perpendicular to grain boundaries. Digital Image Correlation (DIC) is used to obtain strain measurements on specimen surface during testing, and a validation study of titanium specimens is presented to evaluate its effectiveness at this task. Two specimen geometries for AA7050 are presented, designed to induce pure shear failure under compressive loading; a single-ligament specimen, which is used to obtain the strain field around the ligament and basic material properties; and a three-ligament specimen, which is used to examine the strain-hardening behavior and the plastic work before fracture. The strain fields show a high degree of localization, with high shear strains accompanied by a "peel" strain that complicates analysis of the failure state. Calculations of the shear modulus, shear yield strength and shear ultimate strength show the peak- aged specimens are stronger and stiff er than the over-aged specimens, due to the size of the strengthening precipitates. From a material anisotropy perspective, the rolling and transverse directions prove to be the strongest, due to a combination of textural anisotropy from rolling as well as the effect of coarse precipitates aligned along the roll direction. The 3-ligament specimens show strain hardening on the order of 20 MPa between first and second ligament failure, with a corresponding drop in the amount plastic work observed. The hardness of the peak-aged specimens leads to higher energy dissipation than the over-aged specimens, without a corresponding decrease in strain capacity

    Information-Wise

At Maastricht University (UM), the importance of information literacy (IL) is widely recognised – students require structured support in dealing independently with (academic) information, and encouragement to develop creative and critical approaches when faced with complex questions and sources. IL is especially significant in a problem-based learning (PBL) environment such as that offered by UM, which advocates a constructive, contextual, collaborative, and self-directed approach toward learning and knowledge creation. The project Information-Wise launched in February 2019 and resulted in an evidence-informed IL programme for bachelor students. The ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation) was adopted to organise the development process of the programme. The analysis phase was conducted by gathering qualitative and quantitative evidence. Two literature reviews and a university-wide survey with responses from over 600 bachelor students and about 100 staff teachers resulted in recommendations for an IL programme at UM. The design phase consisted of the development of an IL framework that embraces the PBL vision of UM. The framework consists of four dimensions: 1) Resource Discovery, 2) Critical Assessment, 3) Organising Information, 4) Creation & Communication. In order to translate the conceptual research outcomes and framework dimensions into educational practices, the project team created a developmental rubric with intended learning outcomes (ILOs). In the development phase, a five-step piloting approach was used to design teaching activities and assessments that support students in achieving these rubric ILOs. The constructive alignment approach helped to align these activities with the content of the subject courses in which these pilots took place. Part of the IL programme is an online curriculum consisting of generic and discipline-specific online modules. For the implementation phase, this report presents Do’s, Don’ts, and Don’t knows, which outline the future integration of the IL programme into faculty curricula. The evaluation phase still has to be done

Backround: The aim of this study was the assessment of energy expenditure (EE) and the intensity of physical activity (PA) of adult women during the interactive dance video game (IDVG) Dance Central on Xbox 360 Kinect in the context of health recommendations. Methods: Twenty eight intentionally selected women (mean ± SD age: 21.8±1.1 years, body height: 167.3±6.1cm, body mass: 59.3±5.9 kg, body mass index: 21.2±1.3) met the inclusion criteria and took part in to the experiment. Heart rate monitor, accelerometer, and pedometer were used as measurement tools. Participants performed the same easy dance routine three times (for a total of 10 min.). Trials consisted of imitating the motions presented by the virtual dancer. Results: The data from accelerometer and heart rate monitor were similar, and indicated the moderate intensity of interactive dance video game (IDVG) Dance Central. However, energy expenditure assessed by pedometer was significantly lower. Conclusion: IDVG Dance Central may be useful in increasing the daily dose of physical activity of adult women and meet the health-related recommendations provided its regular practice

Overweight and obesity not only are major risk factors for number of chronic diseases, but also a risk factor for pregnancy complications in women. The present study aims to investigate the association between pre-pregnancy BMI and the persistence and duration of BF. The electronic databases including Medline (PubMed), Scopus, Embase, Web of Science and Google Scholar were searched for papers with titles and/or abstracts including one of our keywords and published up to 15 April 2019. For dose-response relationship, the two-stage random-effects meta-analysis was performed using the dosresmeta function in R software. Thirty-two studies with the effect of pre-pregnancy BMI on BF initiation, intention and duration were included in the present study. Based on crude and adjusted OR models, the risk of BF cessation increased by 4 (OR = 1.04; 95 CI: 1.021.05) with an increase in a unit of BMI. In addition, based on crude and adjusted RR models, the risk of BF cessation increases by 2 and 1 (crude RR = 1.02; 95 CI: 1.011.03 and adjusted RR = 1.01; 95 CI: 0.991.02) with an increase in one unit of BMI. Based on the result, the health care professionals and other key stakeholders should be aware of the impact excess weight, and that women who are overweight or obese should be encouraged with continued access to guidance, counseling and support, starting from conception, to maximize BF outcomes. © 2020 The Authors Public health; Women's health; Reproductive medicine; Obstetrics and gynecology; Reproductive system; Clinical research; Pre-pregnancy, Body mass index, Breastfeeding, Initiation, Duration. © 2020 The Author
