La Dialectometrització dels quatre primers volums de l'ALDC : una breu presentació
El present article representa un primer balanç de la dialectometrització del volums
I-IV de l'Atles Lingüístic del Domini Català (ALDC) segons els principis teòrics i pràctics
de l'«Escola Dialectomètrica de Salzburg» (EDMS). Després d'una descripció de la
«taxació» (és a dir, de la mesura taxadora) de les dades originals de l'ALDC, de l'establiment
de la matriu de dades i de la matriu de similituds, segueixen la presentació i la interpretació
detallades de 16 gràfics policroms generats mitjançant el programa dialectomètric
«Visual DialectoMetry» (VDM). Els 16 gràfics esmentats contenen, majoritàriament
sota la forma cartogràfica de mapes coroplètics, dos mapes de treball, sis mapes de similitud,
dos mapes isoglòtics, dos mapes de paràmetres, dos mapes de correlació i dues
anàlisis dendrogràfiques amb representació espacial. La naturalesa empírica i la importància científica dels resultats s'arrengleren perfectament a les de totes les altres dialectometritzacions
fetes d'atles lingüístics romànics i no romànics sota els auspicis de l'EDMS
i confirma l'alta qualitat geolingüística de les dades brutes de l'ALDC.The present article constitutes a preliminary report on the dialectometrization of the first four volumes of the Catalan linguistic atlas ALDC («Atlas Lingüístic del Domini Català») according to the theoretical and practical principles of the «Salzburg School of Dialectometry». After a brief description of the techniques used to evaluate the original
data in the ALDC and to create the tables for the data and the measurements showing
similarity between paired character-vectors in the data, there is an introduction followed by 16 colour maps produced by the dialectometric rogramme «Visual DialectoMetry» (VDM). These 16 graphics, mostly in the form of choropleth maps, contain two working maps, six similarity maps, two isoglossic maps, two parameter maps, two correlation maps and two dendrograms with their spatial equivalents («spatialization maps»). The empirical nature and scientific importance of the results are perfectly in line with all the
other dialectometrizations of Romance and non-Romance linguistic atlases carried out
under the auspices of the EDMS, and confirm the high geolinguistic quality of the raw data from the ALDC

This paper describes, with the help of geolinguistic data drawn from the linguistic Atlas of France by Jules Gilliéron and Edmond Edmont (ALF), the theoretical and methodological approach and the typodiagnostic possibilities of modern dialectometry (DM), whose central aim is to discover the underlying diatopic structures that geolinguists are normally not able to observe directly. The paper has 5 black-and-white figures and 24 full-page colour maps, and it provides a detailed introduction to the following procedures in dialectometry: interpointDM (measuring distances between points), similarity DM (measuring the similarities between the all the ALF points taken into account), characteristic-parameter DM, and dendrographic DM. The result is a very detailed overview of the genesis and current structure of the Gallo-Romance area as it appears from cross-linking the 638 survey points and the transcriptions identified in the 626 plates of the ALF taken into account

With the supply of 4 figures and 24 closely interpreted dialectometrical maps, this paper analyses the
linguistic change of the geolinguistic deep structures in Northern France (Domaine d’Oïl) between 1300 and
1900. As a matter of fact, the result will show – with some well explainable exceptions – the great stability of
these deep structures.
The two empirical bases are, on the one hand, the scripta-atlas of the Amsterdam Romanist Anthonij Dees
of Northern France (published in 1980) and the “Atlas linguistique de la France” (ALF) of Jules Gilliéron and
Edmond Edmont (1902-1910). Whereas the Dees-atlas is based on the philological exploitation of 3300
medieval non literary documents (charters) and therefore refers to written materials, the ALF contains oral
materials which have been collected by field work and standardized interviews with competent dialect speakers.
For to comparison of the two empirical levels (scripturality and orality) we use well experienced methods
of the “Salzburg School of Dialectometry” like similarity maps, parameter maps, interpoint maps, correlation
maps and trees

Cdc53p acts in concert with Cdc4p and Cdc34p to control the G1 to S phase transition and identifies a conserved family of proteins
Regulation of cell cycle progression occurs in part through the targeted degradation of both activating and inhibitory subunits of the cyclin-dependent kinases. During G1, CDC4, encoding a WD-40 repeat protein, and CDC34, encoding a ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme, are involved in the destruction of these regulators. Here we describe evidence indicating that CDC53 also is involved in this process. Mutations in CDC53 cause a phenotype indistinguishable from those of cdc4 and cdc34 mutations, numerous genetic interactions are seen between these genes, and the encoded proteins are found physically associated in vivo. Cdc53p defines a large family of proteins found in yeasts, nematodes, and humans whose molecular functions are uncharacterized. These results suggest a role for this family of proteins in regulating cell cycle proliferation through protein degradation
Band structure effects in Auger neutralization of He ions at metal surfaces
A comparative study of Auger neutralization (AN) of He ions at noble metal surfaces is presented in order to reveal how the electronic structure of the sample influences this charge exchange process. Comparison of calculated ion fractions to experimental data obtained in low energy ion scattering (LEIS) shows that good agreement is achieved only if the relevant aspects of the He-metal interaction are properly taken into consideration.
