Potential and cumulative accessibility of workplaces by public transport in Szczecin

The article presents the accessibility of workplaces in Szczecin using the method of potential and cumulative accessibility for commuting by public transport. The public transport commuting times used in the study were generated using the public transport model, which was developed based on data in the General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) format. The results of potential accessibility by public transport were calculated for several selected time thresholds in the morning rush hours between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m.. On the other hand, cumulative accessibility is characterised by variability of travel times for 8 a.m., which is calculated in 10- to 60-minute intervals of travel time. The aim of this study is to identify workplaces in Szczecin that are situated in areas where accessibility is more dependent on the parameters of the public-transport timetable. In addition, a possibility to define the optimal journey length was assumed so that it would regard the largest number of jobs. The use of the two indicated research methods for the accessibility of workplaces in Szczecin provides a result in the form of better- and less-accessible areas of the city as regards the labour market. The results regarding the accessibility of workplaces using the two methods identify places of increased demand for commuting by public transport during the morning rush hours

The personal aspect of the moral and axiological upbringing of children and adolescents

The deficit of value in social life causes concern for the fate of the future generations. Upbringing, defined as preparing a human for life and shaping their personality in the particular social and civilizational reality is the main vector of value. Timeless, universal values, determining the existence of the world guard life and its quality. Thus, one of the most important goals of upbringing is to help children and adolescents in shaping a value system which will be the cornerstone of their life. Taking into account the meaning of value in shaping a young person’s personality, this paper deals with how upbringing for value is carried out by teacher and educators. Assuming that moral shaping has purpose only when it serves a particular human as an individual seeking fulfillment, we present the essence of personalized moral upbringing, i.e. as a process connected to presenting the rules of a moral existence, with raising people to freedom and responsibility, with shaping consciousness and character, acting morally and truly becoming a person.Deficyt wartości w życiu społecznym powoduje niepokój o przyszłość kolejnych pokoleń. Głównym przekaźnikiem wartości jest wychowanie, rozumiane jako przygotowanie człowieka do życia i kształtowanie jego osobowości w warunkach konkretnej rzeczywistości społecznej i cywilizacyjnej. Na straży życia i jego jakości stoją wartości ponadczasowe, uniwersalne, które warunkują trwanie świata. SCALE INSECTS (Hemiptera, Sternorrhyncha, Coccoidea) ON ORNAMENTAL PLANTS IN THE FIELD IN POLAND

Thirty-three species were recorded from various ornamental field plants, representing 23.08% of the native Polish scale insects fauna. These species belong to6 families, namely: Asterolecaniidae, Coccidae, Diaspididae, Eriococcidae, Kermesidae and Pseudococcidae. The best represented families were the Diaspididae (13 species) and Coccidae (12 species). For each species, the type of habitats, host plants, pest status and zoogeographical region of origin are given. Scale insects were found on cultivated deciduous trees and shrubs (24 species) and on ornamental coniferous trees and shrubs (8 species) in parks, botanic and household gardens, housing settlements and along avenues. The most numerous and economically important species is Parthenolecanium corni, followed by Carulaspis juniperi and Leucaspis lowi. Special attention should be paid to invasive Pulvinaria floccifera on Ilex aquifolium (L.) and unidentified Parthenolecanium sp. on rhododendron plants. These scale insects were observed in massive density on their hosts and can survive the winter in Poland

Ksiądz Piotr Poręba - pedagog i psycholog, pastoralista i katechetyk - w pracy naukowodydaktycznej koncentrował się wokół takich kwestii, jak: wychowanie, małżeństwo, rodzina, katecheza, duszpasterstwo rodzin. Zagadnienia katechetyki badał pod kątem historycznym: analizował poglądy i koncepcje pedagogów i katechetyków. Obszar praktyki katechetycznej opisywał w ujęciu psychologicznym oraz pedagogicznym. Katecheza w ujęciu Piotra Poręby może być więc zdefiniowana jako: psychopedagogika katechezy oparta na antropologii chrześcijańskiej. Reverend Piotr Poręba - an educationist and psychologist, a pastoralist and a theoretician of catechesis - focused his research-didactic work on such questions as: education, marriage, family, catechesis, pastoral family counseling. He studied the issues of catechetics in the historical perspective: he analyzed educationalists’ and catechists’ views and conceptions. He described the area of catechetic practice in the psychological and pedagogical perspective. Hence, catechesis seen from Piotr Poręba’s perspective may be defined as: psycho-pedagogy of catechesis based on Christian anthropology

Catechesis should lead to the formation of a personal bond with God following the model of Christ, and to professing the faith in the Church for a full personalization of man and of the world. For this service, in a special way, in all the history, the Church has always called consecrated persons to devote the maximum of their abilities and possibilities to the work of teaching, educating and of initiation that is realized by catechesis in various circles. The contribution of monks to catechization is most fully realized by making the Person of Christ present with the use of the example of one's life, and by following the example of the Son of God, by the profession of evangelic councils and by the testimony of one's Christian life in agreement with the Gospel, revealing Christ and showing the face of the Church, as well as by monastic charismas involved in the process of catechization, giving it a special emphasis and a telling character. Involvement in catechization on the part of monks, nuns, and members of associations of apostolic life is of utmost importance at the present moment in the history of the new evangelization of the new Europe and the new world.Katecheza powinna prowadzić do osobowej więzi z Bogiem na wzór Chrystusa i do wyznawania wiary w Kościele dla pełnej personalizacji człowieka i świata. Changes in accessibility in eastern europe due tothe road investments along the Via Carpatia corridor

The main objective of the article is to assess the potential impact of the completed Via Carpatia route on changes in the accessibility of regions on a European scale. The model of potential accessibility in the international approach was used (sources and destinations at the NUTS3 level). The accessibility analysis showed that the range of impact of the investment is extensive and extends from the north of the continent to central Turkey, and the effectiveness of construction of individual sections is strongly dependent on the simultaneous investment in neighboring countries

Christian education should be concentrated on three fundamental values. It has to be education aiming at faith, hope and love. The pupil should be brought to learn about Jesus Christ and to establish a personal relation with Him, as well as he should be taught to understand and to love the Church. Faith in the life of a Christian is inextricably connected with hope. A believer is not only concentrated on his earthly life, but he makes this life a means for achieving eternal happiness. Eucharist is a true source of Christian hope. Education for faith and hope finds an actual confirmation in acts of love. A person educated for love is able to share it with his neighbors, even at the price of giving himself up.Wychowanie chrześcijańskie winno koncentrować się na trzech podstawowych wartościach. The Ecological Relationship Between Pikas and Marmots in Northern Utah

1. Pikas coexisting in areas with marmots gathered marmot scats along with vegetation for their haypiles during the summer and fall months. In these areas, haypiles were much smaller than those in areas that did not contain marmot populations. 2. Winter survival rates of pikas which coexisted with marmots were high even though haypiles on the average were small. This high rate of survival is attributed to the energy content in marmot scats which increased the total energy available in the haypiles. 3. The consumption rate of haypile vegetation by pikas in the lab decreased with the addition of marmot scats to the diet. 4. Theoretical considerations of metabolic needs of pikas suggest that the caloric content of the vegetative part of a compound haypile alone is sufficient to sustain an animal through an 8-month winter, whereas vegetation and scats of such a haypile should provide sufficient energy for such a time period

The period of the accession of Central and Eastern Europe countries to the European Union, including Poland is the time of intensive investments financed by structural funds.
