Proton - Nucleus Interactions at 200-GeV/c
The investigation of interactions of hadrons with the nucleus in recent time became very important, and there is a hope that it can give the information about the systems produced in this process (lifetime, cross sections etc.) The nuclear photoemulsions are a good detector at the investigation of hadron-nucleus interactions due to a high spatial resolution and a possibility of detection of particles nearly at all energies that enables to study the characteristics of both fast and slow particles. The consistence of emulsion enables to obtain the characteristics of interactions both on light (CNO, <A> = 14) and on heavy(Ag,Br,<A> = 94) nuclei
Nuclear Interactions of 400 GeV Protons in Emulsion
We report on 400 GeV proton-emulsion nucleus reactions and compare the results to hadron-nucleus reactions at smaller energies. In particular we present results on the emission of fast target protons (essentially grey track particles) and on their correlation with the number of collisions inside the nucleus, ν, with the number of charged evaporated particles (essentially black track particles) and with the number of pions produced (essentially shower particles). We observe that the main features of the 200¿400 GeV data are very similar. However, we find that the mean shower-particle multiplicity at 400 GeV is essentially higher than expected from the simple independent particle model prediction 〈ns〉 = 〈nch〉[1 + 0.5(〈ν〉 − 1)]. The shower particle multiplicities do not seem to follow a target mass dependence of the form 〈ns〉 = 〈nch〉 Aα with α = 0.14 or α = 0.19 as has been suggested in the literature. The pseudo-rapidity distribution shows limiting target and projectile fragmentation. The shower-particle multiplicity in the ¿central region¿ increases linearity with 〈ν〉 but faster than 0.5〈ν〉 times the corresponding multiplicity in pp reactions
Russian Opera as Cultural Text (The Golden Cockerel by N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov)
This project entailed a detailed study and analysis of the literary and musical text of Rimsky-Korsakov's opera The Golden Cockerel, involving source study, philological and musical-historical analysis, etc. Goryachikh studied the process of the creation of the opera, paying particular attention to its genre, that of a character fable, which was innovative for its time. He considered both the opera's folklore sources and the influences of the 'conditional theatre' aesthetics of the early 20th century. This culture-based approach made it possible to trace the numerous sources of the plot and its literary and musical text back to professional and folk cultures of Russia and other countries. A comparative study of the vocabulary, style and poetics of the libretto and the poetic system of Pushkin's Tale of the Golden Cockerel revealed much in common between the two. Goryachikh concluded that The Golden Cockerel was intended to be a specific form of 'dialogue' between the author, the preceding cultural tradition, and that of the time when the opera was written. He proposed a new definition of The Golden Cockerel as an 'inversed opera' and studied its structure and essence, its beginnings in the 'laughing culture' and the deflection of its forms and composition in a cultural language. He identified the constructive technique of Rimsky-Korsakov's writing at each level of musical unity and noted its influence on Stravinsky and Prokoviev, also finding anticipations of musical phenomena of the 20th century. He concluded by formulating a research model of Russian classical opera as cultural text and suggested further uses for it in musicology
FREE ECONOMIC ZONE AS A FACTOR OF REGIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
The article discusses the theoretical and organizational aspects that characterize the essence and features of the functioning of free economic zones (FEZ); The goals and consequences of their creation are systematized. The work highlights the most important principles for the effective operation of the FEZ mechanism, namely: any FEZ should be created, function and develop as an autonomous institutional unit of the country; all financial relations of enterprises of organizations and other legal entities with the state budget are mediated by the administration and its own budget; should build its activities on its own budget. It is emphasized that the revenue side of the FEZ budget should be squeezed from tax revenues from enterprises, organizations and individuals located or residing in the territory of the FEZ; proceeds from customs duties; revenues from own entrepreneurial activity; state budget funds transferred for the needs of FEZ, primarily the development of social infrastructure in the form of a long-term loan; sponsor funds. During the study, the conditions of implementation and the specifics of the FEZ in the Republic of Crimea were determined, the results of its functioning were also analyzed; development prospects are identified; the factors on which the effectiveness of a free economic zone and its significance for regional economic development depend are identified.</jats:p
