Assessment of postural response after sudden perturbation in subjects with genu valgum
زمینه و هدف: بد شکلی های وضعیتی اندام تحتانی به عنوان عاملی که در ترتیب قرار گیری بخش های مختلف بدن نسبت به یکدیگر تغییراتی ایجاد می کند، مورد توجه می باشد. حفظ تعادل بدن، می تواند از این تغییرات که راستای طبیعی وضعیت بدنی را بر هم می زند، متاثر گردد. هدف این تحقیق ارزیابی پاسخ وضعیتی و فعالیت الکترومایوگرافی سطحی منتخبی از عضلات اندام تحتانی افراد دارای زانوی والگوس یا ضربدری برای بازیابی تعادل بدن، هنگام مواجهه با اغتشاش ناگهانی بیرونی میباشد. روش بررسی: در این مطالعه مورد-شاهدی، شانزده فرد مبتلا به زانوی ضربدری به روش در دسترس و شانزده فرد با ساختار قامتی نرمال در اندام تحتانی و زانو با توجه به همتا سازی دو گروه، انتخاب شدند. جابجایی مرکز فشار پاها (COP) و فعالیت الکترومایوگرافی منتخبی از عضلات اندام تحتانی پس از اعمال اغتشاش ناگهانی اندازه گیری و ثبت شد. برای تجزیه و تحلیل داده ها از t مستقل استفاده شد. یافته ها: جابجایی مرکز فشار پاها به طور معنی داری در گروه آزمون با زانوی ضربدری نسبت به گروه کنترل بیشتر بود (05/0
Liquid-gas phase transition in hot nuclei studied with INDRA
Thanks to the high detection quality of the INDRA array, signatures related
to the dynamics (spinodal decomposition) and thermodynamics (negative
microcanonical heat capacity) of a liquid-gas phase transition have been
simultaneously studied in multifragmentation events in the Fermi energy domain.
The correlation between both types of signals strongly supports the existence

ECCO essential requirements for quality cancer care : Melanoma
Background ECCO essential requirements for quality cancer care (ERQCC) are explanations and descriptions of challenges, organisation and actions that are necessary to give high-quality care to patients who have a specific type of cancer. They are written by European experts representing all disciplines involved in cancer care. ERQCC papers give oncology teams, patients, policymakers and managers an overview of the elements needed in any healthcare system to provide high quality of care throughout the patient journey. References are made to clinical guidelines and other resources where appropriate, and the focus is on care in Europe. Melanoma: essential requirements for quality care: Melanoma, the most-deadly skin cancer, is rising in incidence among fair-skinned people in Europe. Increasing complexity of care for advanced disease in clinical areas such as staging and new therapies requires attention to a number of challenges and inequalities in a diverse patient group. Care for advanced melanoma must only be carried out in, or in collaboration with, specialist melanoma centres which have both a core multidisciplinary team and an extended team of allied professionals, and which are subject to quality and audit procedures. Access to such units is far from universal in all European countries. It is essential that, to meet European aspirations for high-quality comprehensive cancer control, healthcare organisations implement the requirements in this paper, paying particular attention to multidisciplinarity and patient-centred pathways from diagnosis to treatment and follow-up, to improve survival and quality of life for patients. Conclusion: Taken together, the information presented in this paper provides a comprehensive description of the essential requirements for establishing a high-quality service for melanoma. The ERQCC expert group is aware that it is not possible to propose a 'one size fits all' system for all countries, but urges that access to multidisciplinary teams and specialised treatments is guaranteed to all patients with melanoma.Peer reviewe

HDR research activity remains at the heart of QUT’s real world research ambitions and our HDR cohort is one of the key the engine rooms of our innovation pipeline. In 2021, our HDR cohort showed great resilence in a world that continues to be challenged by a pandemic, complex international relations and an increasingly fractured world. Our HDR students find answers to questions that touch the very fundamentals of the human existence.and its embedding into our societies, explore ways towards innovative health solutions, understand the complexities of nature from the very small to planetary and extra-terrestrial dimensions on a fundamental level and engineer the innovations that support a sustainable environment.
QUT will continue to place great importance on the HDR journey including both the research and career development components. Our graduates continue to take up leadership position ranging from industry to government agencies to academia in Australia and abroad, enabling positive change. We are continuously striving to enhance our HDR experience and research leaders across our schools, centers, faculties and divisions continue to work in partnership with our HDR cohort to maximize their impact.
The year ahead will continue to challenge us as a society and a global community on several fronts, thus resilience building remains a key learning outcome for our HDR students, enabling them to thrive in pushing the boundaries of knowledge forward.

Expression of the SST receptor 2 in uveal melanoma is not a prognostic marker
Introduction Uveal melanoma (UM) cells and neurohormone-producing cells both originate from the neural crest. Somatostatin receptors subtype 2 (SSTR2) are over-expressed in several tumors, often from neuroendocrine origin, and synthetic antagonists like octreotide and octreotate are being used as diagnostic or therapeutic agents. We investigated the SSTR2 expression in UM, and determined whether this expression was related to prognosis of the disease. Materials and methods UM cell lines and fresh primary UM samples were tested for SSTR2 expression by autoradiography (AR) using 125I-Tyr3-octreotate. Furthermore, UM cell lines were analyzed for SSTR2 mRNA expression with quantitative real-time RT-PCR. Results Using AR, cell-surface SSTR2 expression was demonstrated in two UM metastatic cell lines, but no expression was detected in three cell lines derived from primary UM. However, all primary and metastatic UM cell lines showed mRNA expression levels for SSTR2 using quantitative real-time RT-PCR. Only three of 14 primary UM demonstrated moderate SSTR2 expression, and this expression was not significantly associated with tumor-free survival or any tested prognostic factor. Conclusions Based on the rare and low expression of SSTR2 found in primary UM specimens and in UM cell lines, we conclude that SSTR2 is not widely expressed in UM. Furthermore, SSTR2 expression was not associated with tumor-free survival and prognostic factors. Therefore SSTR2 is not suited as prognostic marker or therapeutic target in UM
Price Elasticities and Social Health Insurance Choice in Germany: A Dynamic Panel Data Approach
In 1996 free choice of health insurers has been introduced in the German social health insurance scheme. Competition between insurers was supposed to increase efficiency. A crucial precondition for effective competition among health insurers is that consumers search for lower-priced health insurers.We test this hypothesis by estimating the price elasticities of insurers? market shares. We use unique panel data and specify a dynamic panel model to explain changes in market shares. Estimation results suggest that short-run price elasticities are smaller than previously found by other studies. In the long-run, however, estimation results suggest substantial price effects
