Pressure deformation of tires using differential stiffness for triangular solid-of-revolution elements
The derivation is presented of the differential stiffness for triangular solid of revolution elements. The derivation takes into account the element rigid body rotation only, the rotation being about the circumferential axis. Internal pressurization of a pneumatic tire is used to illustrate the application of this feature
Fully CMOS Memristor Based Chaotic Circuit
This paper demonstrates the design of a fully CMOS chaotic circuit consisting of only DDCC based memristor and inductance simulator. Our design is composed of these active blocks using CMOS 0.18 µm process technology with symmetric ±1.25 V supply voltages. A new single DDCC+ based topology is used as the inductance simulator. Simulation results verify that the design proposed satisfies both memristor properties and the chaotic behavior of the circuit. Simulations performed illustrate the success of the proposed design for the realization of CMOS based chaotic applications
Research instrumentation for tornado electromagnetics emissions detection
Instrumentation for receiving, processing, and recording HF/VHF electromagnetic emissions from severe weather activity is described. Both airborne and ground-based instrumentation units are described on system and subsystem levels. Design considerations, design decisions, and the rationale behind the decisions are given. Performance characteristics are summarized and recommendations for improvements are given. The objectives, procedures, and test results of the following are presented: (1) airborne flight test in the Midwest U.S.A. (Spring 1975) and at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida (Summer 1975); (2) ground-based data collected in North Georgia (Summer/Fall 1975); and (3) airborne flight test in the Midwest (late Spring 1976) and at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida (Summer 1976). The Midwest tests concentrated on severe weather with tornadic activity; the Florida and Georgia tests monitored air mass convective thunderstorm characteristics. Fractional Langevin Equation of Distributed Order
Distributed order fractional Langevin-like equations are introduced and
applied to describe anomalous diffusion without unique diffusion or scaling
exponent. It is shown that these fractional Langevin equations of distributed
order can be used to model the kinetics of retarding subdiffusion whose scaling
exponent decreases with time, and the strongly anomalous ultraslow diffusion
with mean square displacement which varies asymptoically as a power of

Quantum Chromodynamics and Other Field Theories on the Light Cone
We discuss the light-cone quantization of gauge theories as a calculational
tool for representing hadrons as QCD bound-states of relativistic quarks and
gluons, and also as a novel method for simulating quantum field theory on a
computer. The light-cone Fock state expansion of wavefunctions provides a
precise definition of the parton model and a general calculus for hadronic
matrix elements. We present several new applications of light-cone Fock
methods, including calculations of exclusive weak decays of heavy hadrons, and
intrinsic heavy-quark contributions to structure functions. Discretized
light-cone quantization, is outlined and applied to several gauge theories. We
also discuss the construction of the light-cone Fock basis, the structure of
the light-cone vacuum, and outline the renormalization techniques required for
solving gauge theories within the Hamiltonian formalism on the light cone.Comment: 206 pages Latex, figures included, Submitted to Physics Report
