Optimasi USAha Perikanan Mini Purse Seine Di Kabupaten Jeneponto Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan (Optimization of Mini Purse Seine Fishery in Jeneponto District, South Sulawesi Province)

The small pelagic in Jeneponto is highly potential, but since 2001-2004 years there are degradation indication of haul activity wich marked by degradation of mini purse seine number. The objectives of the research are: 1) to estimate the level of MEY exploiting of small pelagis becoming target of mini purse seine, and 2) to determine production factors which is playing a part in improvement of productivity of mini purse seine. The production surplus method, Gordon Schaefer model and multiple regression analysis were used in this study. The result from bio-economic analysis showed that at actual condition have come near optimum level for exploiting of small pelagic. The optimum catch of small pelagic is 3.783.376,09 kilo grams per year with standard effort of 8.723 trip per year. Specially far mini purse seine, optimum effort is 47% from standard effort or equivalent by 26 unit of gears. Production factors that give signifiront effect to fish production of mini purse seine are machine strength, mini purse seine length and number of lamp

Kata kunci: Time Budget Pressure, Due Professional Care, Kualitas Auditor

Effect of Different Levels of Protein Supplementation on Reproductive Performance of Rabbit Does Under Tropical Conditions

The study was conducted over a 125 days period with 150 does which were randomly assigned to three treatment groups of 50 does each. The does were fed one of the diets containing 13.17, 16.64 and 21.00% crude protein (CP) supplementation with ad libitum green grass (Hymenachne pseudointerrupta, CP=6.6%). Gestation period, litter size & litter weight ( at birth & weaning), individual pup weight at birth and weight gain up to weaning (28 d) did not differ (P>0.05) among the treatment groups. The pregnancy rate of does and mortality of pups up to weaning were significantly affected (P<0.05) among the treatment groups. The mean of the pregnancy rate was highest (100 %) in the group fed on 21.00% CP diet, while the number of pups alive up to weaning was highest (100 %) in the group fed on 13.17% CP diet. Based on these findings, the inclusion of 21.00% CP diet along with ad libitium green grass may be suggested for better reproductive performance of does under tropical conditions

The use of biomedicine, complementary and alternative medicine, and ethno-medicine for the treatment of epilepsy among people of South Asian origin in the UK

Studies have shown that a significant proportion of people with epilepsy use complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). CAM use is known to vary between different ethnic groups and cultural contexts; however, little attention has been devoted to inter-ethnic differences within the UK population. We studied the use of biomedicine, complementary and alternative medicine, and ethnomedicine in a sample of people with epilepsy of South Asian origin living in the north of England

Structural and Biological Behaviour of Co(II), Cu(II) and Ni(II) Metal Complexes of Some Amino Acid Derived Schiff-Bases

    Get PDF
Biologically active tridentate amino acid (Alanine, Glycine & Tyrosine) derived Schiff-bases and their Co(II), Cu(II) & Ni(II) complexes have been synthesised and characterised on the basis of their conductance and magnetic measurements, elemental analysis and 13C-NMR, 1H-NMR, IR and electronic spectral data. These Schiff-bases and their complexes have been evaluated for their antibacterial activity against bacterial species such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumonae, Proteus vulgarus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa and this activity data show the metal complexes to be more antibacterial than the Schiff-bases against one or more bacterial species
