    The research investigates the effectiveness of the status change of teacher training institute into university. Research uses mixed quantitative and qualitative approach, evaluation and case study methods. sampling are stratified and purposive from eight public universities. Data collecting was Focus Group Discussion (FGD), kuessioner, and interview. Data analysis used percentage quantitative and case analysis of the unique of each study program at each university. The study shows: 1) universities are still keeping their roles as their core business to produce teachers and educational administrators, 2) Students competence significantly improves due to the education and non education program of the study reciprocally give or help each other as well as share their experience to enhance students' competence in science and social subjects, 3) the enrolement of students tends to be increased every year with high academic qualification candidates, 4) curriculum consists of education and non education (pure science and social subjects), 5) lectrurers' qualification also increases significantly, srata 1 tends to be decrease, while master dan doctor degree-S2/S3 increase significantly every year/period, 6) budget of each university and faculty is different due to the different location of universities and needs of each faculty, and 7) students cummulative achievement index (3.275) increases every year

    Dalam bidang kesehatan, infeksi merupakan penyebab utama penyakit dunia terutama di daerah tropis yang disebabkan oleh berbagai mikroorganisme. Pseudomonas aeruginosa dan Shigella dysenteriae merupakan contoh bakteri yang dapat menyebabkan infeksi dan merupakan golongan bakteri Gram negatif. Tanaman yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk obat menangani infeksi diantaranya adalah Sirih merah (Piper crocatum). Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak etanol daun sirih merah (Piper crocatum) terhadap P. aeruginosa dan S. dysenteriae. Pada penelitian ini proses ekstraksi dilakukan dengan metode maserasi dengan penyari etanol 96%. Uji aktivitas antibakteri dilakukan dengan metode dilusi padat dengan seri konsentrasi ekstrak untuk uji P. aeruginosa adalah 3%, 4%, 6%, dan 7% sedangkan konsentrasi ekstrak untuk S dysenteriae adalah 2%, 4%, 5%, dan 6%. Ekstrak kemudian dianalisis kandungan kimianya menggunakan metode KLT dengan fase gerak berupa metanol : kloroform (1:39). bioautografi untuk mengetahui senyawa yang berperan sebagai antibakteri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun sirih merah memiliki aktivitas terhadap P.aeruginosa dan S. dysenteria dengan nilai Kadar Bunuh Minimum berturut-turut sebesar 6% dan 5%. Hasil uji KLT menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun sirih merah mengandung golongan senyawa terpenoid, flavonoid, dan alkaloid. Uji bioautografi menunjukkan bahwa senyawa yang memiliki aktivitas antibakteri adalah flavonoid dan terpenoid

    DOI: 10.17014/ijog.v5i2.98The abundance of sea floor zircon mineral in the studied area was found at the southwest of Kabung Island (SKWL-56) which was accumulated in silty sand sediments at 23 m water depth. Based on the grain mineragraphy analysis, this mineral has various characteristics: rose, white, and brownish yellow colours, elongated prismatic crystals, and translucent to transparent appearances. The distribution profile lines have shown that the distribution of seafloor zircon tends to decrease from Kabung and its surrounding areas to Lemukutan, and from Kabung to the Land of Kalimantan. Considering the abundances, distribution, crystal shape, and mineral association, the zircon mineral in the studied area is a placer deposit that was produced by transport processes characterized by the changing form of crystal. Some samples observed, showed corrosion marks due to a transportation activity, while the transparent level change of these minerals was suggested to be due to much penetration into cavities in the mineral, which lead to the presence of gangue material during the deposition process

    Synthesis and x-ray crystal structure of a CuII-theophylline complex: [Cu(theo)2 (H2O)3]·2H2O

    The complex [Cu-II (theo)(2)(H2O)(3)].2H(2)O (theo = theophylline) was obtained from aqueous solution. The crystals belong to the monoclinic system, space group P2(1)/n, and are reflection twins about the (001) face. The structure was solved using data from a twinned crystal and refined to final R and R(W) values of 0.069 and 0.064, respectively. Copper has a square-pyramidal coordination with two thee molecules coordinating through N(7) at equatorial positions. The remaining sites are occupied by water molecules. O(6) of one of the thee molecules is at the other axial site at a longer distance of 3.18 Angstrom. This could lead to an alternate (4+1+1) octahedral coordination geometry for Cu-II. The packing is stabilized by stacking interactions between the theophylline moieties at an average separation of 3.46 Angstrom
