Supersymmetry preserving and breaking degenerate vacua, and radiative moduli stabilization
We propose a new type of moduli stabilization scenario where the
supersymmetric and supersymmetry-breaking minima are degenerate at the leading
level. The inclusion of the loop-corrections originating from the matter fields
resolves this degeneracy of vacua. Light axions are predicted in one of our
models.Comment: 18 pages, 14 figure
Radiative K\"ahler moduli stabilization
We propose a new type of K\"ahler moduli stabilization mechanisms in type IIB
superstring theory on Calabi-Yau manifolds with the positive Euler number. The
overall K\"ahler modulus can be perturbatively stabilized by radiative
corrections due to sparticles. Its minimum is the anti-de Sitter vacuum, where
supersymmetry is broken. We can uplift it to the de Sitter vacuum by
introducing anti-D-branes, keeping the modulus stabilized. Although our
numerical results depend on the choice of the cutoff scale and degeneracies of
sparticles, at any rate there exist the parameter spaces where the masses of
Kaluza-Klein and stringy modes are larger than the cutoff scale. Furthermore,
this stabilization scenario predicts an ultralight axion.Comment: 19 pages, 4 figure
Modular symmetry and non-Abelian discrete flavor symmetries in string compactification
We study the modular symmetry in magnetized D-brane models on .
Non-Abelian flavor symmetry in the model with magnetic flux (in a
certain unit) is a subgroup of the modular symmetry. We also study the modular
symmetry in heterotic orbifold models. The orbifold model has the
same modular symmetry as the magnetized brane model with , and its flavor
symmetry is a subgroup of the modular symmetry.Comment: 28 page
Gauge coupling unification in SO(32) heterotic string theory with magnetic fluxes
We study heterotic string theory on torus with magnetic fluxes.
Non-vanishing fluxes can lead to non-universal gauge kinetic functions for
which is the important features of
heterotic string theory in contrast to the theory. It is found
that the experimental values of gauge couplings are realized with
values of moduli fields based on the realistic models with the gauge symmetry and three chiral generations of quarks and
leptons without chiral exotics.Comment: 20 pages, 9 figure
F-term Moduli Stabilization and Uplifting
We study K\"ahler moduli stabilization in IIB superstring theory. We propose
a new moduli stabilization mechanism by the supersymmetry-braking chiral
superfield which is coupled to K\"ahler moduli in K\"ahler potential. We also
study uplifting of the Large Volume Scenario (LVS) by it. In both cases, the
form of superpotential is crucial for moduli stabilization. We confirm that our
uplifting mechanism does not destabilize the vacuum of the LVS drastically.Comment: 22 pages, 2 figure
