Room-Temperature Operation of GaInAsP/InP Integrated Twin-Guide Lasers with First-Order Distributed Bragg Reflector
Stable-single-longitudinal-mode lasers in the wavelength region of 1.0~1.7μm, such as distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) lasers1),2) and distributed-feedback (DFB) lasers 3), are very interesting for the low-loss optical communications4) and the integrated optics in that wavelength region. In order to realize an effective DBR laser, it is essential to introduce a low-loss waveguide on which distributed Bragg reflectors are fabricated with first-order gratings. An integrated twin-guide structure5) is one candidate for this purpose6), since gratings can be fabricated on its low-loss output guide.</jats:p
