Market assessment overview
Market assessment, refined with analysis disaggregated from a national level to the regional level and to specific market applications, resulted in more accurate and detailed market estimates. The development of an integrated set of computer simulations, coupled with refined market data, allowed progress in the ability to evaluate the worth of solar thermal parabolic dish systems. In-depth analyses of both electric and thermal market applications of these systems are described. The following market assessment studies were undertaken: (1) regional analysis of the near term market for parabolic dish systems; (2) potential early market estimate for electric applications; (3) potential early market estimate for industrial process heat/cogeneration applications; and (4) selection of thermal and electric application case studies for fiscal year 1981
KritiK EpistEmologi Tafsir KontEmporEr (Studi Atas Kritik Jama>l Al-Banna> Terhadap Beberapa Pemikir Al-Qur\u27an Kontemporer)
This preliminary article explains the Jamal al-Banna\u27s epistemological critique on Qur\u27anic exegesis in his book entitled Tafsir al-Qur\u27an Baina al-Qudama ‘wa al-muhditsin. Recent development of Qur\u27anic studies has witnessed some progressive Islamic thinkers, those who have made such a new color on the study of the Qur\u27an. Starts from a brief description on the contemporary trend of Qur\u27anic studies, this article aims to explain Jamal al-Banna\u27s criticism on several Qur\u27anic thinkers, including Amin al-Khuli, Muh ammad Syahrur, Mohammed Arkoun, Nasr Hamid Abu Zaid, and Orientalist views on the Qur\u27an. It finally deals with an offer from Jamal al-Banna in the context of a new paradigm in the study of the Qur\u27an
Penggunaan Multimedia Berbasis Komputer
Dynamics of abelian subgroups of GL(n, C): a structure's Theorem
In this paper, we characterize the dynamic of every abelian subgroups

Resource targets for advanced underground coal extraction systems
Resource targets appropriate for federal sponsorship of research and development of advanced underground coal mining systems are identified. A comprehensive examination of conventional and unconventional coals with particular attention to exceptionally thin and thick seams, steeply dipping beds, and multiple seam geometry was made. The results indicate that the resource of primary importance is flat lying bituminous coal of moderate thickness, under moderate cover, and located within the lower 48 states. Resources of secondary importance are the flat lying multiple seams and thin seams (especially those in Appalachia). Steeply dipping coals, abandoned pillars, and exceptionally thick western coals may be important in some regions of subregions, but the limited tonnage available places them in a position of tertiary importance
Quasi-dynamic Load and Battery Sizing and Scheduling for Stand-Alone Solar System Using Mixed-integer Linear Programming
Considering the intermittency of renewable energy systems, a sizing and
scheduling model is proposed for a finite number of static electric loads. The
model objective is to maximize solar energy utilization with and without
storage. For the application of optimal load size selection, the energy
production of a solar photovoltaic is assumed to be consumed by a finite number
of discrete loads in an off-grid system using mixed-integer linear programming.
Additional constraints are battery charge and discharge limitations and minimum
uptime and downtime for each unit. For a certain solar power profile the model
outputs optimal unit size as well as the optimal scheduling for both units and
battery charge and discharge (if applicable). The impact of different solar
power profiles and minimum up and down time constraints on the optimal unit and
battery sizes are studied. The battery size required to achieve full solar
energy utilization decreases with the number of units and with increased
flexibility of the units (shorter on and off-time). A novel formulation is
introduced to model quasi-dynamic units that gradually start and stop and the
quasi-dynamic units increase solar energy utilization. The model can also be
applied to search for the optimal number of units for a given cost function.Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures, accepted at The IEEE Conference on Control
