The area of study is on the Compliance of the Islamic Banking System Home Financing in Malaysia to the Syariah Principles. The aims of studies are to critically analyze about the Islamic Banking system in Malaysia focusing on home financing and secondly, to determine whether the product of home financing in Islamic Banking system in our country is in compliance with Syariah principles. These analyses of study emerge from different aspects including the proper understanding of concept Bai Bithaman Ajil and Musharakah Mutanaqisah in practice by the financier and the various tools in Syariah principles such as Murabahah, Bai- at Inah and Ijarah concept respectively. This paper finds that Bai Bithaman Ajil still has some loopholes in this product which not entirely accordance to the Syariah principle especially in the issue high selling price which lead to the oppression of the customer. Musharakah Mutanaqisah is a clear alternative to avoid interest and can reduce the cost of house financing and ultimately the duration of financing. Even though Musharakah Mutanaqisah has some weaknesses but it protects the benefits and public interests. In comparison, Musharakah Mutanaqisah is well accepted and implemented worldwide than Bai Bithaman Ajil As conclusion, Islamic banking and finance must ensure that all of its transactions are Syariah compliant not only on its legal technicalities and forms but more importantly the economic substance which is premised on the objectives outline by Syariah

Communication is key. A common phrase we always hear when relationship is the subject of conversation. Many of us believe that communication helps building, enhancing and sustaining relationships between people. We humans communicate to deliver messages, to express feelings and emotions as well as to share some ideas or information with others. As much as communication being essential to human being, comprehension is important too. The ultimate goal of communication is for the other person to understand and perceive the messages as what and how we wish them to. When receivers are able to understand and comprehend the message sent, we can happily say that our communication objective is achieved

Modelling of ostrich egg using Cubic Hermite Curve / Fatin Nadiah Hamdan ... [et al.]

    Get PDF
Cubic Hermite Curve is applied to calculate the volume of the ostrich eggs. Twelve different sizes of ostrich were used as samples to get the volume. Length, width and actual volume are the input measured to generate the calculated volume. Vernier caliper and measuring cylinder are used to get the measurement of the input. Archimedes Principal method has been used to measure an actual volume of eggs. In order to generate calculated volume, the best fitted curve of the ostrich eggs was obtained by using the best fitted point in Cubic Hermite Curve equation. Besides, another way to determine the best fitted curve is by comparing the relative error of the three different gradients between calculated volume and actual volume

Current THD and Output Voltage Ripple Characteristics of Flyback PFC Converters with LED Lamp and Nonlinear RL Loads

    Get PDF
This study analysed the characteristics of total harmonic distortion (THD) and output voltage ripple in a flyback PFC converter circuit under two different loads, which are the LED lamp modules and nonlinear RL loads. The converter was designed to step down the AC input voltage (90 V-265 V) to a DC output voltage of 80 V DC for both loads, each with an output power of 16 W. The main objectives were to observe and assess current THD and output voltage ripple for both loads using two different capacitances of the output capacitor, which are 2400 μF and 6 μF, respectively. The results demonstrated that using smaller capacitors (6 μF), it increased output voltage ripple, which it increased for the LED lamp load from 10% to 25% and for the nonlinear RL load it increased from 15% to 70%. However, with the same smaller capacitors (6 μF), it reduced current THD for both loads, which for the LED lamp load it reduced from 12% to 10.3%, and for the nonlinear RL load it reduced from 13.7% to 8.3%. From these results, with 2400 μF of the output capacitor, it provided better performance in terms of current THD and output voltage ripple for both load types.

Facing the global challenges of the industrial revolution 4.0 (RI4.0) has impacted the educational landscape today. The Internet of things (IoT) became the gauge for RI4.0 by expanding the use of the internet as a whole. The application of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) in the curriculum is the best platform to bring students together to explore the wonders of the world without limits with teacher guidance. In the context of primary school education, I like to integrate the elements of art into STEM making the concept of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics (STEAM) as an approach that more animates the concept of entertainment. However, the concept of STEAM is too broad to be digested by primary school students. Limited existing knowledge makes lesson content difficult to link to STEAM effectively. Based on the issues that have been raised, the STEAM Genius innovation has been built to link learning content with STEAM in detail. As the starting point of the STEAM Genius innovation, the plant title was chosen to explore how plants are viewed from a STEAM perspective. STEAM- Plants Genius is an android app that revolves around science in plants, technology and engineering in agriculture, artistic elements as well as interesting facts about the diversity of tree species in our ecosystem. The strength of this app is its interactive learning and facilitation process (PdPc) through interactive and entertaining gamification methods. Clear display, user -friendly, universal content as well as interactive online and offline activities are very much in line with the concept of entertainment education in PdPc. The app connects learning about plants from the perspectives of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics specifically. This android app is very effective in sparking students ’curiosity and exploration to STEAM in more depth. The small size and easy-to-spread applications through a variety of social media indeed make the STEAM-Plant Genius an innovation with high potential to be given space in supporting the STEAM approach in education. CHANGE POINT ANALYSIS: A STATISTICAL APPROACH TO DETECT POTENTIAL ABRUPT CHANGE

Change-point analysis has proven to be an efficient tool in understanding the essential information contained in meteorological data, such as rainfall, ozone level, and carbon dioxide concentration. In this study, change-point analysis was used to discover potential significant changes in the annual means of total rainfall, temperature and relative humidity from 25 years of Malaysian climate data. Two methods, the CUSUM and bootstrap, were used in the analysis, where the CUSUM was used to analyze the data trends and patterns and bootstrapping was used to calculate the occurrence of change points based on the confidence level. The results of the analysis showed that potential abrupt shifts seem to have taken place in 1999, 2001 and 2002 with respect to the annual means for relative humidity, temperature and total rainfall, respectively. These identified change points will be further analyzed as potential candidates of abrupt change by extending the proposed method in a future study.</jats:p
