Obtaining the basic response pattern of physiological time series data : a comparison of methods
An understanding of the kinetics of physiological variables such as the heart rate or the rate of change of volume of oxygen uptake is fundamental not only to training methodology and competitive success in sport and exercise, but also to our knowledge of cardiovascular health. A correct and efficient means of interpreting and analyzing the data obtained is of vast importance, as exercise testing is routinely used in both of these areas
INEF12Basketball Dataset and the Group Behavior Recognition Issue
Proceedings of: 9th Conference on Practical Applications of Agents and Multi-Agent Systems. Workshop on User-Centric Technologies and Applications (CONTEXTS 2012), Salamanca, March 28-30, 2012Activity recognition is one of the most prolific fields of research. For this reason, there are new fields of research that expand the possibilities of the activity recognition: Group behavior recognition. This field does not limit the number of elements in the scene, and there are a lot of new elements that must be analyzed. Each group, like each individual element, has its behavior, but this behavior depends on their elements, and the relationships between these elements. All these new elements cause that group behavior recognition was a new field of research, with some similar elements but it must be studied apart. This way, group behavior recognition is a novel field, in which there are not many researches and there are not many datasets that could be used by researchers. This situation causes the slow advance of the science in this field. This paper tries to show a complete description of the problem domain, with all the possible variants, a formal description and show a novel architecture used to solve this issue. Also describes a specific group behavior recognition dataset, and shows how it could be usedThis work was supported in part by Projects CICYT TIN2011-28620-C02-01, CICYT TEC2011-28626-C02-02, CAMCONTEXTS (S2009/TIC-1485) and DPS2008-07029-C02-02Publicad
Population genomics of post-glacial western Eurasia.
Western Eurasia witnessed several large-scale human migrations during the Holocene 1-5 . Here, to investigate the cross-continental effects of these migrations, we shotgun-sequenced 317 genomes-mainly from the Mesolithic and Neolithic periods-from across northern and western Eurasia. These were imputed alongside published data to obtain diploid genotypes from more than 1,600 ancient humans. Our analyses revealed a 'great divide' genomic boundary extending from the Black Sea to the Baltic. Mesolithic hunter-gatherers were highly genetically differentiated east and west of this zone, and the effect of the neolithization was equally disparate. Large-scale ancestry shifts occurred in the west as farming was introduced, including near-total replacement of hunter-gatherers in many areas, whereas no substantial ancestry shifts happened east of the zone during the same period. Similarly, relatedness decreased in the west from the Neolithic transition onwards, whereas, east of the Urals, relatedness remained high until around 4,000 BP, consistent with the persistence of localized groups of hunter-gatherers. The boundary dissolved when Yamnaya-related ancestry spread across western Eurasia around 5,000 BP, resulting in a second major turnover that reached most parts of Europe within a 1,000-year span. The genetic origin and fate of the Yamnaya have remained elusive, but we show that hunter-gatherers from the Middle Don region contributed ancestry to them. Yamnaya groups later admixed with individuals associated with the Globular Amphora culture before expanding into Europe. Similar turnovers occurred in western Siberia, where we report new genomic data from a 'Neolithic steppe' cline spanning the Siberian forest steppe to Lake Baikal. These prehistoric migrations had profound and lasting effects on the genetic diversity of Eurasian populations
Establecimiento de metas y la relación entre las expectativas de éxito y el rendimiento en un equipo de fútbol profesional
The purpose of this research was to know the goals and the relationship between the expectations of success and performance in a professional soccer team during the three seasons studied (2010-2011, 2011-2012 and 2012-2013). Participants included 41 professional players from a second division team in the "A" Professional Football League of Spain. Interviews and different instruments were used to assess the establishment of goals and expectations of success, and the performance was measured through classification. The purpose of this research was to know the goals and the relationship between the expectations of success and performance in a professional soccer team during the three seasons studied (2010-2011, 2011-2012 and 2012-2013). The results showed significant differences (p<.01) of the expectations of success in relation to the performance. In addition, it can be said that establishment of goals has a positive influence on the players and the team.Sin financiaciónNo data 201
