Performance Improvement Strategy Of Supply Chain Management In SEI Galuh Palm Oil Mill, PT Perkebunan Nusantara V
Palm oil becomes Indonesia's leading agricultural commodity which is inseparable from competition with CPO producers from other countries. PT Perkebunan Nusantara V (PTPN-V) is a state-owned company engaged in palm oil plantation and processing palm oil fresh fruit into crude palm oil (CPO) and palm kernel (palm kernel). One of the 12 palm oil processing units of PTPN-V is the Sei Galuh Palm Oil Mill (PKS SGH), in the past 5 years the plant has the lowest performance compared to 12 other factories. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to analyze the supply chain of PKS SGH and performance improvement strategy of supply chain management at the PKS SGH through SCOR-AHP approach. The result shows that supply chain strategy in this research is to run lean supply chain strategy because the output is a functional product. So the strategy applied was should low cost strategy (efficient). The result of performance measurements obtained matrix order fulfillment, quality conformity, processing cycle time, and employee costs is “good”. Then, matrix order fulfillment time, flexibility of capacity increase and cash to cash cycle is “average”; while matrix supply flexibility and cost of processing were obtained “poor” results
Proust’s Innovative Vision of Literature as Seen Through his Correspondence
Marcel Proust’s monumental correspondence is filled with information about the man Marcel Proust and his daily life, but reveals very little about his ideas on art and literature or about the novel that consumed his life, A la recherche du temps perdu. Most of his letters paint an extremely polite and even obsequious man overly concerned with pleasing his correspondents or with organizing his social life while others provide information about his personal life. When he mentions his writing, it is usually in connection with practical questions or information he is seeking. Very rarely does he discuss his novel or present his own ideas about art and literature. However, a handful of letters, out of thousands, in which he does discuss his literary project and his innovative vision of literature in some detail, show some sort of Proustian aesthetics that not only complements the theories he offers in Contre Sainte-Beuve and in Le Temps retrouvé, the last volume of his novel, but also helps understand them better
A review of the potential of renewable energy sources for the State of Jammu and Kashmir (India)
The future economic development trajectory for India is likely to result in rapid and accelerated growth in energy demand, with expected shortages. Many of its current policies and strategies are aimed at the improvement and possible maximization of energy production from the renewable sector. It is also clear that while energy-conservation and energy-efficiency can make an important contribution in the national energy strategy, renewable energies will be essential to the solution and are likely to play an increasingly important role for the growth of grid power, providing energy access, reducing consumption of fossil fuels, and helping India pursue its low carbon progressive pathway. However, most of the states in India, like the northernmost State of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), have experienced an energy crisis over a sustained period of time. As India intends to be one of the emerging powers of the 21st century, it has to embark upon with these pressing issues in a more sustainable manner and accordingly initiate various renewable energy projects within these states. This paper will provide a broad-spectrum view about the energy situation within J&K and will highlight the current policies along with future strategies for the optimal utilization of renewable energy resources
Modern Literature and Christianity: The Religious Issue in Lucien Rebatet\u27s Les Deux étendards
Although Lucien Rebatet\u27s Les Deux étendards (The Two Standards) has been hailed by a number of critics as one of the best novels written in France since World War II, it is surrounded by a wall of silence because its author actively supported the Nazi movement before and during the war. Yet the novel does not deal with politics but with love, art, and religion. Based on real events, it is the story of a love triangle involving Michel, who has lost his Catholic faith, Régis, who studies to become a Jesuit priest, and Anne-Marie, a young student who shares a mystical love with Régis and also intends to join a religious order. When Michel meets Anne-Marie, he falls desperately in love with her, but hopelessly since she belongs to God and to Régis. Yet, fascinated by his friends\u27 adventure, he tries to recover the faith he has lost in order to join them on their mystical plane, but eventually fails. The theme of religion and more specifically Catholicism dominates Les Deux étendards which treats the most complex religious issues with passion and intensity and tackles the history of the Church and religious exegesis with a thoroughness and a minuteness worthy of Proust. Over one thousand pages, Les Deux étendards, mainly through Régis and Michel\u27s animated discussions, reenacts the quarrel that has been raging for two thousand years between believers and nonbelievers. If, in the end, Les Deux étendards condemns religion, it is in order to better affirm what can be called the sacred or the spiritual which stands in opposition to the religious. In any case, this passionate handling of religion, its place at the heart of the story and its intimate association with the other main themes, love and art, largely account for the originality of the novel

Who uses sustainable land management practices and what are the costs and benefits? Insights from Kenya
Suboptimal land management practices are degrading soils and undermining food production. Sustainable land management (SLM) practices can improve soil and enhance yields. This study identifies variations in SLM uptake, characterising farmers most likely to use SLM practices, identifying when it makes economic sense for farmers to implement particular SLM practices and how long it takes before benefits exceed costs. Using questionnaire data from farmers in western Kenya, we undertake a cost–benefit analysis and analyse determinants of SLM practice use. SLM implementation varied between counties and SLM practice(s), with household and farm characteristics, and access to assets and advice, playing a key role. SLM practices with high upfront and maintenance costs (e.g., terraces and agroforestry) offer low benefit‐to‐cost ratios for individual farmers who must also wait many years to break even on their investments. Nevertheless, over the policy‐relevant time horizon considered (to 2030), Net present value can be positive. Simple SLM practices (manuring and intercropping) have low input costs and offer high benefit to cost ratios, providing a positive net present value up to 2030. Findings suggest that simple practices should be prioritised within policy to improve soil and increase yields. These should be supported by subsidies or other economic measures, facilitating uptake of practices such as agroforestry, which can provide wider societal benefits (e.g., improved water retention and carbon sequestration). Economic mechanisms could be augmented with support for agricultural innovation systems, improved monitoring of land management and yield relationships, and investment in climate and soil information services
