On ramification theory in the imperfect residue field case

We consider the class of complete discretely valued fields such that the residue field is of prime characteristic p and the cardinality of a pp-base is 1. This class includes two-dimensional local and local-global fields. A new definition of ramification filtration for such fields is given. It appears that a Hasse-Herbrand type functions can be defined with all the usual properties. Therefore, a theory of upper ramification groups, as well as the ramification theory of infinite extensions, can be developed. Next, we consider an equal characteristic two-dimensional local field KK. We introduce some filtration on the second K-group of a given field. This filtration is other than the filtration induced by the valuation. We prove that the reciprocity map of two-dimensional local class field theory identifies this filtration with the ramification filtration.Comment: This is a corrected and extended version of my 1998 Nottingham preprint; many details are added. Ramification of surfaces: Artin-Schreier extensions

Let AA be a regular 2-dimensional local ring of characteristic p>0p>0, and let L/KL/K be a cyclic extension of degree pp of its field of fractions such that the corresponding branch divisor is normal crossing. For each \gp\in\Spec A of height 1 such that A/\gp is regular, consider the ramification jump h_\gp of the extension of the residue field at \gp. In this paper the semi-continuity of h_\gp with respect to Zariski topology of suitable jet spaces is proved. The asymptotic of h_\gp with respect to intersection multiplicity of the prime divisor defined by \gp and the branch divisor is also addressed.Comment: LaTeX, 9 page

The Comparison of Direct and Indirect Methods for Determining the Magnetocaloric Parameters in the Heusler Alloy Ni50Mn34.8In14.2B

    Get PDF
The magnetocaloric properties of the Ni50Mn34.8In14.2B Heusler alloy have been studied by direct measurements of the adiabatic temperature change (ΔTAD(T,H)) and indirectly by magnetization (M(T,H)), differential scanning calorimetry, and specific heat (C(T,H)) measurements. The presence of a first-order ferromagnetic-paramagnetic transition has been detected for Ni50Mn34.8In14.2B at 320 K. The magnetocaloric parameters, i.e., the magnetic entropy change (ΔSM = (2.9-3.2) J/kgK) and the adiabatic temperature change (ΔTAD = (1.3-1.52) K), have been evaluated for ΔH = 1.8 T from CP(T,H) and M(T,H) data and from direct ΔTAD(T,H) measurements. The extracted magnetocaloric parameters are comparable to those of Gd

TRIGGER-VECTOR MODEL OF INDIVIDUAL INVESTORS' BEHAVIOUR IN THE DOMESTICі GOVERNMENT BORROWING MARKET

    Get PDF
The increasing expenditures on defence, social protection, and economic recovery in Ukraine amidst a growing state budget deficit necessitate additional funding through the development of the domestic government borrowing market and the engagement of individual investors' funds. These investors can be both individuals, including labour migrants, and legal entities, particularly representatives of small and medium enterprises, both residents and non-residents. The article conducts impact modelling the impact of government bond issuance on the financial stability of the state, and methods to enhance the effectiveness of state financial policy in realizing the financial potential of individual investors. An analysis of macroeconomic indicators reveals that the available funds held by individuals and legal entities are not fully utilized within the state's financial system, which hampers macroeconomic stability and, consequently, affects Ukraine's defence capabilities. The paper substantiates the appropriateness of individual investors allocating their funds to domestic government bonds, particularly military bonds. The research aims to develop a trigger-vector model of individual investor behaviour in the domestic government borrowing market and to justify its use for attracting additional funds to finance victory and post-war economic recovery in Ukraine. This model is centred around an investment trigger that allows individual investors to make informed decisions based on an assessment of the advantages and risks associated with investing in military bonds. To evaluate the impact of quantitative and qualitative factors on investment decisions, particularly in military bonds, the trigger model is supplemented with a vector component
